I dont think you're making the right decision. I found out if a girl smokes it doesnt tell much about her character, she can be good or bad girl , whether she smokes or not. In case you just want a temporary relationship this shouldnt matter at all. Also I kissed smokers and they taste great, whatever anyone says is untrue.

 

Even as a smoker, I didnt like kissing a smoker as much as a non smoker! Of course, I wouldnt not date somebody because of it, but i can see why non-smokers would.

I've always been incredibly anti-smoking, and my ex-girlfriend - before we got together - quit smoking because she overheard me saying that I would never go out with a smoker. My opinion has always been that if the person I'm with wants to be with me, why would they actively shorten their life and take so little care of themselves?

BUT... Having said all that...

I am currently getting involved-ish with a girl who, I discovered on our first date, smokes. She smoked one cigarette whilst we were out, and she was very self-deprecating about it, but I have to admit that I was incredibly turned off during those four or five minutes. However, despite everything I have said above, I have found that I am absolutely crazy about her and am really eager to pursue a relationship with her (if she'll have me!). She told me that is in the process of quitting, and I just hope that is true. Needless to say, if we do become heavily involved, she won't be smoking in my car or at my home. So I figure that will go some way to helping her stop?

 

Yeah it should do, if she really does want to stop. It's my boyfriend that's really motivated me, he could have written that post actually! Except we aren't only "kind of involved"!!
We have been together 8 months (exactly in fact- wow) so don't expect it to be overnight, it's difficult.


As for the ganja comment, I used to smoke it heavily, but I stopped when I decided I didn't just want to be an A Level drop out, I now study child care and that includes 50% placement looking after kiddies. Best not to be stoned really lol so that sorted me out there, now I cant handle it I'm off my head as soon as i sniff it where I used be able to smoke joint after joint.

 

I refuse to allow any habit of mine affect any aspect of my life i do not want it to... i smoke ganja w my friends almost everyday b/c they get it for free and i was in the top ten in my graduating class and currently have a 4.0 in college.

we all have the ability to control our appetites. As american i suggest we start excercising this ability adn excercising in general.

 

yeah but weed can kill you too i can't remember the exact number but cigarettes have around 70 carcinogens and weed has over 300

With me it's strange. I could not be with a man who was a smoker. Non smoker would be first thing on list. Yet with women, for some reason, it doesn't bother me at all.

My wife and I both smoked cigarettes when we were younger. But as we got older and realized the health risks, and how disgusting smoking was, we gave cigarettes up and never regretted it. Now I'm living healthy, I'll smoke an occasional cigar and whack on the crack daily

I consider smoking cigarettes to be a filthy malodorous habit.
It’s a shame how many good people have been killed from smoking cigarettes.

 

Love a girl who smokes, drinks coffee and red wine and her teeth are coloured accordingly…….taste futhermore is very individual!

How can you be a smoker and hate smoking? Very easily!! I hate every single thing about it. I hate the smell and the taste it leaves. I hate most of all it's damaging effects on ones health. I am going to stop.....but i don't!! I am quitting today.....but i did not!! Maybe perhaps tomorrow?? Still i may slack off but do not put them down. It is one of the worst addicting habits!! You just wake. You want a cig. You are bored or work hard....again you want one. If you drink, feel frustrated, sad, mad, horny, after sex....fucking cigs!!!!!!!

 

I am physically allergic to smoke so non-smoking is top on my list of criteria for a partner. Nowadays luckily it's not allowed "anywhere" in public anymore (inside, outside still is); it's one of the reasons as a teenager/young adult I've never gone to parties etc, just because the few times I tried going somewhere I was really ill the day after.

 

No ashtray breath for me, thanks.

 

I grew up with a sister who a heavy smoker since 13 y.o. I'm used to it and I don't care. My girlfriend smokes too, but she tries not to do it at home

 

There are worse habits a partner can have. Smoking cigarettes is not a total show stopper…but it puts a damper on my enthusiasm
