As to the matter of leadership and lying, there is likely a direct correlation.

Nothing wrong with changing your mind, admitting when they were wrong, or learning additional facts.
Knowing something is wrong and not admitting it because of political reasons is not right.

 

No country behaves altruistically .

Defeating the Islamic state is probably not in the national interests of either the United States or Russia and there are very many selfish interests going on in Syria .

But the Islamic state seems to have an almost orgasmic interest in torture and murder .

Whatever the national interest is it is in the interest of the human race to destroy every little tiny thing about them .

They need to be humiliated . Killed or brought to justice . I don't care which .

I don't care much for Islam but not even I think that Islamic State speaks for Islam .

Thank Allah that the Kurds understand this .

 

You see, there is a difference between political interests and security interests.
It would be wonderful if our royal leaders would keep that in mind, but it's always been the case that politics gets in the way of common sense.

We've been at war since 1997. And we are not winning.

 

After all the arguments that we've had it's hard for me to admit that you are 100% correct .

This is one of the very few events in political history where political events between the United States and Russia actually advance the cause of human justice .

My very large mistake was to say that Islamic state does speak for Islam. I meant exactly the opposite .

So, Shooter started this thread to underscore how the media are treating President Trump. Somewhat with tongue in cheek, but not totally.

Readers might recall the actual verbiage in the original article from the Times, about how reporters were given the rare opportunity to tour the white house with the President himself as guide, and then enjoy lunch with him. About how these "professionals" came away with little more observation worthy of note than .......... the President gets 2 scoops of Ice Cream while everyone else must make do with one scoop.

Today, Shooter happened across an article noting that the former Vice President, Joe Biden loves ................. Ice Cream.
Loves it so much in fact, that he's getting his own flavor named after him. For the record, he LOVES chocolate Chip Ice Cream, and so the name will be (Cornell University students will pick among the 5 finalists) Biden's Chocolate Bites, Bits n' Biden, Big Red, White and Biden, Not Your Average Joe's Chocolate Chip, and Uncle Joe's Chocolate Chip.

Now, because the link has those damn underage images Shooter won't post the link, but if interested readers want, they can first Google "Biden Ice Cream" and then "Trump Ice Cream".

Here's the thing.
The article Shooter read about Biden's Ice Cream habit was from Fox.
That's right. Fox. The Trump news outlet, to hear unsupporters tell it.
It didn't take a single cheap shot at the Vice President. Not one. Not even a hint of derision, or disrespect, or demonization.

The article about Trump's Ice Cream habit was from CNN. Two of them, actually.
The left media picked up on the story and it quickly gained the headline;
"TRUMP DEMANDS TWO SCOOPS OF ICE CREAM........"
Side bars in the Time article included the "Professional" opinion of nutritionists, and another listed restaurants that "Pay Trump" (Trump towers has restaurants you see, so Trump is paid by them, never mind he doesn't have anything to do with his business interests) and the entire story quickly became known at CNN as "Ice Cream Gate"

Fair, objective and balanced reporting?
Not in the United States.
Not for awhile.
Not by a long shot.
Not even close.
The fucking left media should be embarrassed.
Humiliated.
Fucking strung up on a light post.
They are, collectively, not a profession, not respected, should not be respected, would not know how to do a balanced, objective report on the facts and should be collectively fucking FIRED.
And they should be denied their unemployment benefits.
