That was with regards to government approved research programs in 2003. It had no correlation or protections for marijuana dispensaries, medical or otherwise.

Bush, Clinton and Obama were all sending people to prison for facilitating and using medical marijuana.

That is a fact.

Another fact is there have been zero raids or arrest on the federal level while Trump has been in office.

However, House leadership may prohibit federal lawmakers from revisiting the issue when they craft a longer-term funding bill this spring. Such a change in House rules would require members of the Senate to pass an equivalent version of the legislation, which would then need to be approved by House leaders in conference committee.

The problem with Trump saying recreational use of marijuana should be left up to the states is Trump constantly lies and has broken almost all the promises he made during the campaign while now that he is actually president its a whole different story.

California is preparing for any action by the feds with their own state bill that prevents state law enforcement from using funds or manpower for helping feds with recreational marijuana busts. They would have to supply all their own forces.

And while as long as Sessions is AG they will undoubtedly continue their war on pot. From what I have been watching the states with legal pot saying they will fight the Trump administration tooth and nail as well as polls showing more than 70% of the c0untry supports legalization of marijuana they have backed off a little bit at least publicly.

But that's small consolation when federal prosecutors and the DEA can have a pretty free hand when it comes to arresting pot suppliers and dispensaries and seize everything they have from their businesses to their homes and bank accounts. That is exactly what happened during President Obama's first term when the anti pot crusaders in the justice department started raiding and busting medical marijuana businesses in California and other states until finally President Obama and Eric Holder had to shut them down by going public with a new directive.

 

This entire thread just underscores that the arrogant, elite liberals will not give Trump any credit for anything he might do. If this was Clinton (or any liberal) rather than Trump the liberals would be shouting from the rooftops how great this is for the country.

Trump does something that should make a lot of people happy, but all everyone can do is ............ what they've been doing since Trump first announced his candidacy.

 

I'm glad he signed off on it, I said so in a few posts above. It's importont to clarify that this was not something that Trump has done that no other president has done before. This was the third time. Twice by Obama.

Lots of liberals including myself were critical of President Obama not moving Marijuana off schedule one even though he did make the DOJ back off states with medical and/or recreational marijuana. And even helped lift some of the restrictions that prohibited them using banks and credit cards.

And during the campaign lots more liberals were very critical of Hillary Clinton's stance on marijuana and even said that could be a reason not to vote for her.

While on this thread it was simply pointed out that the OP was wrong and Trump didn't really do anything other than what past presidents have done. And that even if Trump does not oppose medical marijuana he, Sessions, and his administration are threatening to crack down on states that have legalized marijuana for recreational use.

And what makes this lie so laughable is the obvious and glaring proof. President Obama did sign the exact same order and there were no threads or even comments on that.
