I think they are just a big step in a direction we do not need to go in.

Did anyone else notice just how fast those scanners got installed after the underwear incident?

I can understand the point of the airport people.... but I don't understand what this does that a metal detector can't. Aside from finding drugs or liquids. and a person can juts shove it in one of their holes.... which a metal detector might find but the TSA scanner won't. I also don't like that the gov uses these scanners on the streets with us unknowing.

 

It amazes me every day how much William Greider predicted in "Secrets Of The Temple" is coming into reality today.

I think we on a porn forum might take a more positive attitude on the TSA patdowns.

I would dread being scanned because of the fact I have to wear Depends more often than not. I don't want to be forced to explain. I may be able to make jokes about it most everytime, I would be mortified to do that in an airport.

 

I don't care as long as it shortens the security line.

Obviously I would prefer it to be warm in the Airport though.

My personal assessment of this latest controversy is that its actually the result of two competing conservative hysteria clashing together.

The first of course is the Conservative idea that the federal government can't do anything right but they better keep them safe no matter what. And the other is the conservative paranoia about sex and sexuality.

So they are actually just crashing into themselves here and its kind of funny to watch. Especially the illogical and irrational part. The old method of screening resulted in bombs being snuck on planes. They are actively trying to defeat their original objective.

Now if a porn site dedicated to hacked TSA images pops up i'll get pissed. if I don't get my royalties.

 

I can`t help but wonder just how much of this security we would need if the rouge part of our (USA) Government was not hell bent on World Domination.

I always find it much harder screening/security wise to leave this country than to get back into it.Since when is your everyday ordinary business traveler such a threat?
I just went through a very similar screening just to walk into a court house in a small "in the middle of no where town." They can call themselves whatever they want,the people screening me in the courthouse were all Military.

The TSA and the HSA all equal Military presence to control citizens doing normal things.

 

I can see where people may be glad to have this 'uber-security measure' - I mean, no-one wants to see another 9/11, do they?

BUT do you not think that 'the powers that be' are relying on your fear to install these machines - and if you don't agree to them, then you have to go through a pat-down?

How many instances, globally, in the past - ooo I dunno, say 20 years - have there been of 'terrorists' smuggling weapons/explosives/etc on board an aircraft? Although I haven't checked, I'm betting the answer comes back at a very small percentage of crafts that take off everyday.

I'm concerned that airport security in the States is being run solely by a government agency. I am concerned that the government of the United States is leaning on other governments worldwide to install these scanners and is using the public's fear of 'what might happen' to start scanning passengers - NB: I think it's the Dutch and the Brits who are developing 'mobile scanners' - which can scan crowds - in other words - you won't know you're being scanned!!

And then, there's the argument of 'would you allow your child to go through the scanners? What happens a couple of years down the line, when we discover that images of our naked children are being 'monitored' by paedophiles, or suspected paedophiles? Are images stored?

To misquote the great Dylan Thomas:

"Do not go gentle into that dark night"

It is easy to impose new laws on a fearful public. But think about your future with a clear head.

Weapons of Mass Invasion of Privacy - the scanners aren't the only things...so called license and seat belt check points...we're just being groomed for a total police state imho.
