As I've never been in a romantic relationship I may not be the best person to participate in this conversation. Still, I am willing to discuss it intellecutally. Dressing a certain way, in a certain environment, increases sexual anxiety. The entire courtship is one filled with anxiety, and when I use this word, I don't mean it in it's negative sense. It's a build up of tension. "Sex" is not necessarily a purely physical, mechanical act. That's a part of it, but "sex" can start first thing in the morning with emotional, mental and physical (non-sexual) intimacy, and build up throughout the day/into the night until finally there is a literal sexual climax. The tension has to be cultivated and things like dressing a certain way or displays of affection can serve to increase tension. It serves to make the 'act' more relieving.

Imagination. Even in a relationship sometimes too little is too much. After I married my 2nd husband we were nearly always naked when we were at home.
