I'm completely computer-illiterate, so I can't argue. It seems the ads on our vids site don't drag it down (for me, anyway), and other adult story sites have animated banner ads, but their pages load quickly too. Does it depend on the platform?

 

Pop ups are not bad as long it is a pop up one time.....on say when you first open site.....
a static ad on the bottom or top that is fixed and not an animated gif is ok.....

It is the short video adds pulled from across the net that screw up a lot of sites and these are getting very common now...
Also gif adds with movement screw with lesser machines.
I just spent 600 bucks for a new 8 gig ram machine and even some of those video adds give me problems...most run with 3 to 4 gig for internet memory...

 

Okay. If the site sells ad space, it could probably limit advertisers to static .jpg or simple .gif files with links to lead to the advertiser's main site. I know the type of animated or video ad you're talking about, and you're correct that they would be a problem. Again, I'm naive, but bandwidth, site updates, and paid staff cost money. Other sites sell ad space that doesn't seem to alter site function, probably to recoup some operating costs.

 

those off shoots are hard to follow also.....the chain of talk just don't make sense sometimes

Sounds ridiculously stupid and complicated. How can you KNOW whether you want to see a comment UNLESS you click on it first? Dumb.

 

How about having the rules (all of them) clearly defined and published and have them announced when they change every other week? Like how the "under 18 rule" ridiculously and suddenly applied to cartoon characters!

While I get you point about the advertising, I appreciate that it doesn't have advertising because it doesn't download massive graphics which would send my data plan through the roof.

At the same time, the only other way to generate revenue would be to charge us, which would just create another hacker target alla Ashley Madison.

See grump number 2 appeared already and the changes haven't even begun. How do you know it is complicated if you haven't even tried it? I recall all the bloody ridiculous whining, kicking and screaming that went on over the last upgrade but look you all stayed and made it through. Give the poor guy a chance to do his thing and test it out first. Some of you guys grossly protest at the slightest softest whisper of possible change.

 

I know it is complicated if you have to decide whether you want to read a comment before you click on it and you have to click on it to know what it says to know if you want to read it. That makes ZERO sense.

If that's the case that could be stupid useful. Probably why sites like Youtube and Facebook implemented it. That's if I'm guessing right, of course.

 

Oh please, this will never happen. We will just get more rules that are arbitrarily enforced and mean nothing.

 

I see some really good suggestions. The only one good suggestion i really don't want to see would be the advertising. As i have stated hundreds of times i am very very very grateful to who ever makes the decision to keep advertisers off of xnxx. One suggestion to still bring in some money may be a donate button. If advertising is required i would request maybe a bar on the page ,no pop ups please......

 

I think a chat room and a dispensary are the best suggestions, and if we can't have both,
make it a dispensary please...

 

I'd favor a membership fee over advertising. A reasonable annual fee would be fine. Say 15 dollars.

 

I would prefer a donation system because membership fees usually scare people away. Question is do they really need the extra revenue? Been operating fine without any of the said revenue generators. Hell i don't know, my damn head hurts after 12 hours at work.
