Mine would be a higher standard as I expect them in much better physical shape, where as I'm much more forgiving to a woman's flaws that don't quite fit my usual choice. I am going to provide an answer to the title and not Milo's comment. I hold the same sex (male) to a lower standard because usually it is a once and done or a short physical relationship. I have had a few longer term males relationships and even they were held to a lower standard. The women I am with are more attractive and better "mates".

I don't hold anyone to a comparative standard, gender-based or otherwise. It's about compatibility for me, and individuals who vary greatly can all still be compatible with me.
