I’ve tried many a time over the last 25 years to tell my husband about my past.... you know???? The bit that happened before you meet your significant other???

Oh the tales I have heard about my own life... it has been was quite enthralling at times.... hearing how from a shred of truth can be born the Mother of all far fetched tales....
Problem is....people believe them!!!!
My husband refuses to hear about any part of my life that occurred before we met.... unless circumstances bring past issues to the forefront....
Over time, this has proven to have a serious detrimental effect on our present relationship.
I can understand people running away and refusing to look back on their own past....
It’s a bit difficult to takes when it’s your partner who’s doing it on behalf of you both....
My respect for my SO is rapidly dissipating because of this silly little factor...

I don't keep that kind of secrets from people that I have really serious feelings about. I don't necessarily volunteer the information but I answer honestly when asked. I haven't had many partners though so it's never been an issue. I've had a female lover for many years and four male lovers (including two husbands). I thought I was keeping my girlfriend a secret from my boyfriends but both times when I decided to tell them, they already knew.

 

We are very open about current and past sexual activity. However neither of us has made any attempt to count the number of partners.

I've always heard about the rule of three. Ever how many a man tells you divide by three. Ever how many a woman says multiply by three.

 

Some guys are jealous and don't want to know about their partner's past. It's as though they want to be the only one to 'deflower' her or something.
Some females are also a little bit shy about telling somebody of their past 'cuz they don't want to be judged on the fact that they were naughty, horny, and fun to play with.
I have slowly gotten MY partner to let me know of her past. Some of it IS sexy and exciting to hear about, but she had some bad encounters too, and I don't blame her for not wanting to 're-live' those through bad memories.

 

I've never had any interest in knowing either the number or their size, their past is their past.
I prefer a woman with 'experience', who knows what she wants/likes and has no hang-up about fucking or sex but I have no interest in how she got that experience.
I did once have a 'friend' who on our first night, without any asking, volunteered the information that "she'd had more cocks than perhaps a decent woman should have had" but it meant nothing to me ...... because at the time it was very obvious that the only one she was interested in having then was mine.
I have been asked how many women I've been with and had no problem in answering but I will never give names, which I have been asked for (perhaps because I live in a small village).
To my surprise when been asked for names I have experienced some trait of 'competitiveness' and 'curiosity' in women, I think I may even have had a couple of FWBs because of it.

 

I "had" a girl friend that I had a serious relationship with three different times for one year to three years each time. The first time she told me that she had been with many men and a lot more than me, meaning women. I liked hearing her talk about her past. She broke up with me the last time when I disclosed to her that I had had a few male experiences. I never told her it was in the 100's and certainly more than her.......lol.

 

i had only been with three men before hubs. my first husband who was a jackass but did give me my daughter for which i am glad and then divorced for almost 25 years i was with one guy maybe twice and then my boss one time and hid wife found out and i got fired. then hubs came along about 6 years ago and now i have no idea of how many men i have been with but hubs says around 1000 in the last 6 years.

 

Like a few others here, mine has told me her first and approx how many partners. She threw out the notches on her bedpost when we got together, lol. She has kinda described past sex, sizes, and experience only because I asked.

 

When and if I decide to marry, I'll ask him if he wants to hear my history. I'll ask him about his. What to know where he got his kinks.
