I hope the national coverage stops completely.

Local news, well, that makes sense. People need to know what is going on in their communities. But national and international? I hope it dies. I hope every news source is conspiring to not cover this shit.

I think the news coverage is part of the problem.

 

A few years ago we started a campaign to stop using their names in the media. I had a case where a kid killed his family in my jurisdiction, when we searched his home we found a ton of media clips and videos that really were a tribute to other cowardly active shooters. Some of these assholes think of just wanting to create more of a legend or media hype than those before them. You are right, it would be nice if the media didn’t hype it so much.

 

Actually, he killed 5 WOMEN. I'm guessing he's an Incel.



He doesn't look like a border crosser, that's for sure.

 

I thought he was Incel as well. But I read a story supposedly quoting his ex-girlfriend saying he was always fascinated with killing. So I don't know how you count that. But yeah five women in a town of about 10,000. He probably knew where only women worked there and targeted them. And I suspect made sure he killed them and not just shot them. Because usually there are more wounded than killed.

Then hide in the bank and then give up. WTF.

Police are searching for a 21-year-old man who they say may have fatally shot five people Saturday morning across two neighboring parishes in Louisiana.

Dakota Theriot, is suspected of shooting and killing three people in Livingston Parish and two people in Ascension Parish, which are just east of the state capital, Baton Rouge.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office wrote in a Facebook post that deputies were dispatched around 9 a.m. to respond to a homicide involving multiple victims. The two shootings in Ascension Parish occurred shortly before then, according to the Ascension Parish Sherrif's Office.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said Theriot is driving a silver and gray 2004 Dodgepickup truck and that he is "armed and dangerous."
"We do not believe the suspect to be in Livingston Parish at this time. We are working in conjunction with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office as we believe our case is connected to a homicide investigation in that parish," Livingston Sheriff Jason Ard wrote in the post.

 

And I think there were three mass shootings this week alone.

So far reported 5 Houston police were shot while serving a warrant, 1 suspect dead, 2 others barricaded in a house. No word on officers conditions.

These mass shootings are happening so often I hope the next Democratic President declares a state of National Emergency over gun violence and issues some sweeping gun reforms. And maybe a moratorium on all gun sales. And of course a ban on assault style weapons and they might even have to confiscate them. And handguns really seem to be a bigger part of the problem these days.
