Here in oz its very hot

 

in the 50s as i went out looking for the sunday paper in shorts and a t-shirt

not to bad here

but 60 miles away in Cumbria they had 14" of rain in 24 hours

thats a lot of water for england and the place got flooded out
bridges washed away and people killed

 

That's A LOT of rain!! Cijababe was saying that she has friends there, but I didn't know people were killed. Flooding is a horrible thing!

 

police man was stood on a bridge to make sure no one crossed when it collapsed and he drowned

6 bridges have collapsed and 10 more are closed and in danger of collapsing

one village is cut in half with a 240 mile round trip to go to school or the shops

we all joke about the British weather but its pretty mild usually no extremes of any thing

our drains and flood defences cant cope with this level of rain fall we will suffer big time with climate change

 

unfortunately, the devastation will be long lasting

 

England has special problems 50m people live in a country smaller than most US states

vast numbers of people live on flood plains protected by flood defences not designed for down pours like this

 

that's true...that's why they're called flood plains...lots of people do that here in the US...build houses next to and in areas where rivers flood

 

seamed like a good idea at the time but we have no ware ells to live and build houses even if we wanted to

 

I know, it's bad. I guess more apartments need to be built. Up seems like the only feasible direction.

 

up is not popular over here but we may have no choice

 

as its still 430am its dark and cold 42 degrees and suppose to be sunny today when the sun comes up lol

 

15 degrees, light snow, It's bit chilly up on top the Rockies.

 

suppose to be in the mid 50s today but on thankgiveing snow???
