  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

We’d still be waiting for the first book of the A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) series.

Look at it these ways. 1) You are an author in the early days of man. You've written what you think is a great story and your telling it around the community fire after the evening meal. Your friends and neighbors start to get up and leave shortly after you've started to tell your story. It's a bad story told badly. 2) Move ahead a few centuries and you are William Shakespeare. You've written a great story about a guy named Hamlet. One evening you set out out tell this story to a few hundred of your close friends and neighbors. You start with Scene 1 Act 1. When the scene is over, you tell your audience that they can hear Scene 2 in a few days, weeks or months when you get around to publishing it. Because your thought highly of, a large portion of your audience returns when you call them back. You present Scene 2 Act 1. When the scene is over, you tell your audience that they can hear Scene 3 in a few days, weeks or months when you get around to publishing it. Fewer people come back for Scene 3 and still fewer for the scenes that follow. Moral of this story is that it doesn't matter whether your stories are good or free, the audience will not put up with your crap (and you're not William Shakespeare)!

That was probably the most ridiculous analogy that could have been made. Hamlet was story on to itself. A series is a continuation of a story with usually the same characters. Have you ever heard of Harry Potter or Twilight? Have you ever read Stephen King's Dark Tower series?

They were all made years apart.

Stop the foolishness and take this fresh L in this debate. You're upset because you're reading a story that you want a conclusion to. We get it. You just have to wait or move on to another story.

Then move forward another few hundred years. You're a guy named George, you made a movie, then a few years later another one, that more people came to. A few years after that another 'installment' that even more people came to. Then he gave up the rights because some asshole made him sad. And it all went to shit.

And there in lies the real problem with this place. "Customers" who criticize, rightfully so sometimes, another person's writing so much that they just don't bother putting up the last chapter. Or the ones with egos so big they demand a positive vote or a positive comment before they post a new installment. I always stop reading as soon as I see that, in the story or comments, because I know it'll just be the excuse not to finish a story they have no idea how to wrap up.

This site is free to read. Authors do not get paid here, by ad revenue, consignment or any other means. The only one who may make a buck is xnxx.

You are not my customer. You're just some dude who stumbled into the depository where something I wrote may or may not be found. You read here for free and get what you pay for most of the time. It sucks when a story is riveting and all of a sudden just stops being updated, true. But most of the time it's because someone really pissed the author off, sometimes they got caught up in rl stuff, sometimes they died without an heir to piece together their masterpiece. Life's a funny thing like that.

I’m guessing you’re not familiar with how long stories were serialized in the 19th century? Novels, as we know them, were often presented periodically in magazines or other print media. The general public couldn’t afford the price of a book so they followed along as the chapters were released.

Remember that this is a FREE site. And all authors contribute their time free of charge, and 90% of the authgors that write for this site and/or others (Myself Incuded) have a job and a life outside of writing stories. So take your bitching elsewhere and buy a book.

As this appears to be a site organized and managed for the benefit of the authors with little consideration for the readers, I have no choice but to seek my entertainment elsewhere. I invite all readers to join me. Goodbye!

Hmmm, a site organized and managed for the benefit of the readers with little consideration for the authors, now that's exactly what I've been looking for. I'm definitely joining you! When do we meet?

You'll have to admit, it's the best way to prevent authors from writing sequels or -god forbid- series

Yeah, can't be having any of that. One story each, not too long, get right to the good stuff.

Please look at this way, It's like a good movie on tv, you watch the whole movie, 2 or three hours long and then it stops, that pieces me off, you don't know what happened, is part 2 next, is it the end who knows, you know what I think, that's readable!!

Lol... no, it's like watching the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. You watch 3 hours and it's over. You wish it was longer because the trilogy is unfinished. What do you do? Not watch the the Two Towers or Return of the King? No.... you wait until they are released. WTF are you two talking about?

I'm new here (well, I read some stories from here but have posted mine elsewhere so far) Today I wanted to post my first one on this site and ran into the exact same issue, every 'select' in the text got replaced by ****. The story is already in the queue so I can't change anything except maybe delete it and start over, but I'll run into the same issue again I guess? So any thoughts on how to fix this? The idea to use '1' instead of 'l' is interesting but I'd prefer if there would be some sort of escape character or something.

    1. JoeRogue
I use lower case L (l) instead of i or I for that problem. 1 looks too weird for me.

The sexstories.com site can be so frustrating. I had two stories in edit mode. I was making changes and proofreading. Then it screwed up the formatting on one of them and wouldn't accept my edits to remove spaces between lines. Then when I went to save it the only option was publish. I didn't want to publish them as they were so I deleted both. It sucks how it just does shit sometimes and ruins a good bit of work.

I do all the work in a document before pasting it into the text box on sexstories. Then the only thing to do is add formating, which is a pain. Of course, every now and then when you publish you get an error, then you can't publish it again because that title is stuck in the database, so you have to add something else to the title.

I did the work in a text doc. Then did more when I posted in this forum. Then even more when I pasted it in sexstories. Then it decided to screw with my paragraphs and list everything as separate lines. When I corrected all that it wouldn't let me save in edit mode, only Publish. Now I've got an unformatted mess saved back to a text doc.

Thanks for the reply, I did delete and repost my story with a slightly different title and replaced the "l" in every 'selected' with a lowercase "I". It indeed looks almost indistinguishable I think. Still learning the ropes around here, the site feels rather arcane so far.

"arcane" Indeed. I'm not sure how serious a writer you are. I started on sex stories when I really didn't think I'd do much. After a long break, now years later, I'm still writing, and I have finally given up on that site. Besides the frustration in posting and how hard it is to fix something after the fact, I have discovered that every single thing I post on sex stories, even the comments people leave, are being skimmed off and reposted on sites I don't know about until someone tells me. I can't interact with the site or get them to respond to requests to remove the content. I asked the admin here if it was a sister site and they had a right to do that, but he didn't know.
Basically, your stuff ends up who knows where.
I spend most of my time on Wrist now.

I have written sex stories almost as long as I can remember and started posting some publicly about 6 years ago. I kept writing whenever I felt like it so I have a bunch of stories in my library. I started of on deviantArt but the policy on actual sexual content is pretty restricting there (they do have a great community though and you'll get lots of feedback). I posted some on literotica but the process takes some time and it's not easy to edit lateron to fix stuff (similar to here). I actually ended up having a personal site for the latest and greatest versions but am still on the lookout for other options. Have not found a site yet that checks all the boxes. Thanks for the tip about Wrist, will look at that as well. Not too concerned about the skimming. It's certainly not good but the same thing happened on literotica already, so I guess I'm not surprised it happens here as well.

If you have unrelated stories, you can publish more than one at a time. If they're part of a series I'd do one at a time. I had tried 3 in a series only to have the first held up for a possible violation (it wasn't ) but then they were published out of order.

Hi folks. I recently tried to publish a story, but it's still stuck in "Edit Mode" even though I've indicated that the story should be published (I have "Publish Your Story" set in the dropdown.) Is there another step I need to talk to actually publish the story? In the screenshot of the original post, I see "Validating..." as a status, but I'm not sure how to get my story to that status. Thanks in advance.

You submitted it. Over the next couple of days, after the weekend, the monitors will validate your story to check if it violates site rules. If ok it will then be available to readers.

If you've hit submit, then just wait. It takes some time for review. Sometimes just a day or two, sometimes longer. Just DON'T keep hitting submit again, that will keep pushing you back to the end of the line. Just be patient.

Am I fighting a losing battle?

On sexstories.com there are often comments left that are just spam ads for sites or services that are often against the website rules. I report these but rarely eve see them removed. It would seem easy enough for the monitors to remove the offending user and their posts with them.
