This editorial said, "on average, 25,000 private-sector jobs have been created each month since January 2001. During the Clinton administration, private-sector nonfarm employment increased by an average of 217,000 per month."

In Monday, July 24, 2006 “The Washington Times” ran a column by Bob Weinstein entitled, “What Makes You Think Prosperity is Here to Stay?” In this column Weinstein wrote, “only 76,000 new IT jobs have been added since April 2003 – less than one-quarter of those lost during the recession.”

When George W. Bush was reelected fewer people in the United States had jobs than the number who were working when he was inaugurated. This has not been true since 1932.

And let's not even get into social issues. At one time both Republicans and Democrats were the same when it came to things like abortion and same sex marriage.

Your knowledge of both politics and history would be laughable if it were not so appalling. FDR came up with the New Deal and the social programs you constantly decry. He had no choice but to support the military because the nation was fighting World War II. Scoop Jackson may have been a liberal hawk but he was anything but conservative since he supported social welfare programs, civil rights, and the labor movement,as well as environmental legislation that greatly expanded wilderness areas and national parks which the conservatives continue to oppose. Now if JFK advocated cutting taxes across the board please post that piece of historical information because it would be news to me. What I remember of Kennedy is his support of civil rights and social welfare programs, his determination to do away with the CIA, and get out of Viet Nam, his adherence to liberal politics.

And you obviously don't know what you are talking about when it comes to both Democrats and Republicans being the same when it comes to things like abortion and same sex marriages because abortion was illegal at the time you point to and same sex marriages didn't become an issue until the past decade, but you can be fairly sure they would have supported both of those issues.

What I remember about Kennedy's policy in Viet Nam was his last directive to have a complete list of options available when he got back from Dallas including "how to get the hell out of there" which is what we did more than a decade and 59,000 American lives later and the most embarrassing defeat in our history.
