Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch won the duels today!!! Mayfield, Allmendinger, and Riggs, raced their way into the Daytona 500...:excited: I was thrilled for Mayfield and Riggs!!! I did feel bad that 'Front-row Joe' didn't make the race...

Smoke looks like his new team is hitting the ground running. Would be nice to see the driver/owner succeed again.

 

I just read somewhere where Rick Hendrick thinks he's going to be great...Smoke has a lot of talent and passion, to say the least...I'm impressed so far this week-end!!! He did have a huge meltdown yesterday, but I can understand why...Newman had a flat and Smoke was right behind him, they both had to go to back-up cars...He had a fit about the Goodyear tires...

Rusy Wallace is talking about moving his son up to Cup next year...However, I'm not sure Steven is ready...

 

I agree- Smoke is looking good and a little set back is noting for both Newman and Smoke- two veterans who can work there way back. I hope to see Smoke and Junior working the pack and coming up with a win. Either way, you have to love the 500.

And Rockpricess, I agree, Steve is not ready, he has a lot of maturing to go through.

How awesome was the Nationwide race?

 

As we all know, Matt Kenseth won the Daytona 500...He's a good clean racer!!! I hated to see the rain end the race...That's racing...

Today there's a truck race and a Nationwide race this evening...Personally, I love to watch the trucks, and I enjoy the Nationwise series, too!!!

Tomorrow, Brian Vickers will be leading them out to the checkered flag!!! I'm going to pick Jimmy Johnson to win tomorrow...Go Jimmy!!! :excited:

I have like two favorite drivers, Dale Jr. and Jeff Burton. My favorite tracks consist of Richmond, Daytona, Talledga, and Texas, and tracks of that sorts!

 

But Vickers is going to the back before the green flag, they had to change the engine, Johnson takes the green first.

 

They don't need to repeat the error that Evernham made with Casey Atwood.

 

Kyle Busch won both the truck and Nationwide races today!!! They couldn't touch him in either race, he was so fast!!! I thought both races were boring because of it...

However, he did set a Nascar record today, he's the only driver to win two series events on the same day...He's going to break a lot of records before he's done...If he can pull off a win tomorrow he will set another record... You have to admit he can really drive a race car...

 

Yea... He has a lot of talent.. Just young... People said the same stuff about Gordon that they do about Kyle- once he matures a little bit he will be a contender during the chase...

I really enjoyed watching Matt and Jeff Gordon race, it was a race of two champions...It was fun to watch and neither one of them made a mistake!!! That is what racing is all about!!!

It looks like Gordon may be back, we know Matt definitely is in a winning mode(2 in a row)...Only five driver have won the in Daytona and have gone to win the next race...I'm not surprised at all, go Matt!!!

 

One mans athlete is another mans "pilot".

Air racing is great, but NASCAR and other automobile races are more popular because as drivers we can better relate to them.

Hey RP, yes it was a very good race, I just wish they would figure out a way to race at Taledaga and Daytona without the horribly unresponsive restricter plate cars.

 

The Nationwide race is just starting in Las Vegas!!! Scott Speed, his first time in a Nationwide car, won the pole!!! It's time to go racing!!!:excited: Harvick is leading, but there's a long way to go!!! He's been driving his own car this year, it would be nice to see him win!!!

What an awful race today!!! There were two red flags, 12 cautions, and a ton of driver mistakes!!! :wall:

Greg Biffle ended up winning, it was survival of the fittest!!! I sure hope the Sprint Cup race is better tomorrow...%-)
