Still raining so now 7 pm. Thighs is fine by me since smoke does better under the lights

 

"Thighs" (female) are fine with me also, something nice to settle in between.

Where is everyone, sleeping in after the late finish? What a total mishmash of adrenalin ups and downs.

A 31 hour rain delay.

Second lap crash taking a few very visible stars from contention.

"Texas Terry" sent for a scary spin by a guy who is still drives from the right side of the car.

Then a former South American open wheel racer decides to take out a safety truck and spread 200 gallons of high grade kerosene in turn three. Did he then have to throw the match to set it ablaze. (Just kidding, he and the driver were both lucky to avoid serious injury or death.)

After a two hour delay, we saw a 33 lap freight train, a few bonehead blunders and then finally a two lap race highlighted by a teammate blatently blocking for MK.

So much for open competition.

 

I was very disappointed with the whole speed week...

That fire was crazy-both Montoya and the truck driver were very lucky...

I missed the last ten laps-I fell asleep, so I can't even respond about the blocking... I'm glad I didn't see it... I'm going to listen to the Race Hub tonight on Speed to see if they bring it up...

Anyway, so NASCAR killed the tandem and brought back the train, woopee. I haven't done the numbers yet but I'm sure the lead change numbers were a fraction of what they've been in the past. The cars totaled, like I said before, is a higher number then ALL of last years plate races.

But we watch anyway.

We watch to see crazy shit like JPM taking out a jet dryer. Guess he figured it was something he hasn't wrecked in racing yet so had to get it in. Sry but there are a few drivers that when you see wrecks you know they started it, Sadler? lol

Still a great race, Daytona will always be Daytona, next week the real racing begins.

 

Out of 120 cars and trucks brought to Daytona(in all three series) 90 of them had some kind of damage during speed week...

With Earnhardt drafting close behind him, Biffle could have probably won if he had chosen to, but he didn't want to take the win away from his teammate, Kenseth, in that way. So he chose to stay behind Kenseth and let Junior try to pass them on his own without the benefit of drafting.

 

Must be watching that video on a different monitor. At 1:38 to 1:44 in that video, Biffle clearly repeatedly moves from side to side trying to break Jr's draft and keeping him pinned. The media saw the same tactic and reported on it. Kenseth even commented on it, but I guess you know better.

There is nothing wrong with the tactic, doesn't violate the rules and is commonly done when teammates are one and two. Little E did it for Mikey in his Daytona 500 win.

 

Tenguy, I think you're missing the point, it's ok to block anyone BUT JR. lol

 

That's definately NOT what I would call blocking. Junior had the whole upper track to use, which he did use...alone.

Biffle chose NOT to draft with Junior and pass his teammate. Why would he? Doing so would just give Junior the win and take it away from Biffle's teammate. At best Biffle would end up in second place anyway.

That isn't blocking him, not by a longshot.

 

Sadler wins at Phoenix yesterday in the Nationwide race-I was thrilled to see him finally win one...:excited:

I'm looking forward to the Sprint Cup race this afternoon-go Jimmie!!! He's my top pick on my fantasy team... Mark Martin will lead them out-he got the pole yesterday... He's very good in Phoenix and could pull off the win... I've got Mark on my team today, too!!! Go Mark!!!

Hamlin wins at Phoenix... I was happy for his crew chief-maybe Smoke shouldn't have fired him??? Harvick looked like he was about to catch him but he ran out of gas... I did go to the top on both of my fantasy leagues-I'm pretty proud of that!!!:excited:
