I never said Jesus was divine. I think these guys just got the right message through enlightenment and tried to spread the word. But as usual the real message got lost in translation.

Shake is a hypocrite. He accuses Christians of trying to "impose their beliefs on others." And why does he say that? Because Christians use words to try to persuade people. YET Shake and his ilk try to "impose their views on others" through words as well.
Also, he accuses Christians of even threatening violence to try to impose their beliefs. But Christians aren't supposed to use violence against others. In fact, most people who claim to be Christians don't do such things. YET Shake has threatened violence against believers in this thread and others.

My violent action would be towards those who committed violence on my son. Not violence for those guilty of having a different view point. If I committed violence towards everyone who thought different than myself I'd be smacking people all day long.

There is a very large difference between hurting someone who hurt my son and hurting someone just because their different. Cooter thinks the girl in the OP deserved what she god (if in fact she got it) because she wasn't willing to break the law with all the other Christian boys and girls.

My responses were based on the fact that you said that if "some Christians" beat your son up you would "burn down every church in a 50 mile radius." Your revenge would therefore be exacted on much more than those few (alleged) Christians. You would be going after every Christian that you could. [To me this indicates a prejudice, a bigotry against religious people...specifically Christians. It indicates a deep seated hatred for people whose only "sin" is that they don't (dis)believe like you do.]

BTW while I can certainly understand the emotion behind why you would be violent toward those who would beat up your child I cannot condone it. You must not take the law into your own hands.

 

As a matter of fact I am speaking like one (Cf. Matthew 23).
If I'm speaking to a person who is honest, sincere, and willing to listen I'm to be "sweet" in my approach.
OTOH when a person indicates that they aren't being honest, sincere, and willing to listen I'm to get "tough" with them. And if they persist in their obstinacy I'm to "shake the dust from off my feet" and "not cast my pearls before swine or give that which is holy to dogs."

The problem with you is that you don't know a thing about what being a true Christian is all about. A true Christian isn't mushy and wishy-washy.
