wow that sucks that they didnt give you anything for the pain...i had mine taken out a few years ago...they gave me demerrol and darvocet ...needless to say i was quite loopy hehe

 

I remember that day for me too, some 20 years past, four teeth removed. Mostly liquid diet for a couple of days, not too much pain though.
The OP has had a lot of recovery time by now

I had it done but i was put to sleep only shitty part was that i woke up during the surgery lol
afterwards god was i in so much fing pain but i was so hung afterward i basically swalloed a steak bacause i could chew but needed the protein

 

I only grew my top ones for some reason. I don't have to get them out because they don't mess with the other teeth. They grew in fine.

 

I hit myself in the face with my guitar earlier and nearly knocked a tooth, that hurt bad enough, let alone having any taken out

 

I had all 4 of mine taken out at once when I was a teenager. It hurt and bled for 3 days. It was a fucking nightmare.

 

I'm in my forties. I had one taken out a year ago, and the drugs were trippy and fun. It was a surprisingly cool experience, and I looked forward to having the other three taken out about eight weeks later.

But then I had those other three taken out. I woke up twice during the surgery, and I was an utter invalid immediately thereafter--swollen, slobbery mess of a man who just wanted to wither away and die. Took weeks and weeks to get over. And my mouth tasted like something crawled in my mouth, took a shit, and then died. Even now, there is sometimes a funky taste, and it was months ago.

When I had to have an errant bone chip pulled out during the recovery time, I told the surgeon what I bad time I was having. And he was like, "Well, if you'd had these out twenty years ago like everybody else...."

 

I had all 4 taken out last year. it was total hell, i looked and felt like i had two huge oranges stuffed in my mouth and i had teeth shards coming out of my jaw for weeks after. They put me on vicoden too

Oh and for dentist horror stories when i was like 4 or 5 my dentist tried putting me in a strait jacket so he could pull one tooth, and for everyone that dont know me, I can handle pain. This was the same dentist that video taped his patients as he drilled their teeth.

 

Whenever someone says 'All I have to say is' it almost always isn't.

 

Honestly, reading all of these stories on here really makes me appreciate my Dentist, he did all four of mine back in the spring and it was a piece of cake, I mean I felt a little pain there after but it was all good.

Ouch! If there's still some smell, that might indicate an infection or a bit of rot in there still. Might want to go get a second opinion and get that taken care of.
