Well, yesterday Shooter would have said probably not. But then, he's been having a running dialogue with bron about cops, and he's beginning to realize that the thought process of otherwise intelligent and reasonable Americans has been so infected by leftist propaganda that, yeah, Shooter could see a quarter of the population brainwashed by despicables.

Shooters opinion on several issues has been changed by looking at the facts, listening to diverse opinions about the issue, and in the end realizing that times have changed, opinions have changed, and it is OK to change one's mind.

Notice how House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats react immediately when one of their members is accused of antisemitism?

Pelosi, leaders seek to squelch Omar controversy with rare joint statement

With a rare joint statement, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her entire leadership team on Thursday sought to quell a growing controversy over Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-Minn.) remarks equating war crimes committed by the U.S. and Israel to those by the Taliban and Hamas terrorist groups.

The joint statement by Pelosi, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.), Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) and Vice Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.) came after Omar responded to a request from a dozen Jewish House Democrats to “clarify” what she meant in her original remarks.

“Legitimate criticism of the policies of both the United States and Israel is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate. And indeed, such criticism is essential to the strength and health of our democracies,” the Democratic leadership team said in its statement.

“But drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the U.S. and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all," the statement adds.

In her clarification, Omar, a progressive Minnesota Democrat and one of the first Muslim women elected to Congress, explained that her original comments had focused on ongoing International Criminal Court probes — “not a moral comparison between Hamas and the Taliban and the U.S. and Israel."

"I was in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries with well-established judicial systems,” said Omar, a Somali refugee.

That clarification appeared to satisfy Pelosi and her team, who said in their Thursday statement: “We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban.”

Omar’s original comments, made Monday as she questioned Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a House hearing, were quickly becoming a major political headache for Democrats. Conservative media outlets ripped Omar’s remarks, and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and the House GOP campaign arm called on Pelosi to punish Omar.

Late Wednesday, Omar took friendly fire as a dozen Jewish House Democrats, led by Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Ill.), issued a joint statement calling on Omar to clarify her remarks and objecting to any comparison of the U.S. and Israel and the Taliban and Hamas.

At first, Omar was defiant, accusing her Democratic colleagues of engaging in “islamophobic tropes” and trying to harass and silence her. Omar allies said these Democrats had put her safety at risk.

But hours later, Omar backed down, issuing a more nuanced statement that explained that she was speaking about specific human rights investigations rather than making a “moral comparison between Hamas and the Taliban and the U.S. and Israel.”

Pelosi rips the 'weaponization of law enforcement by the former president' after 'harrowing' spying report

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday slammed the Trump administration after a bombshell report that the Department of Justice was spying on Democrats.

"As the Justice Department investigated who was behind leaks of classified information early in the Trump administration, it took a highly unusual step: Prosecutors subpoenaed Apple for data from the accounts of at least two Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, aides and family members. One was a minor," The New York Times reported Thursday. "All told, the records of at least a dozen people tied to the committee were seized in 2017 and early 2018, including those of Representative Adam B. Schiff of California, then the panel's top Democrat and now its chairman, according to committee officials and two other people briefed on the inquiry."

"Prosecutors, under the beleaguered attorney general, Jeff Sessions, were hunting for the sources behind news media reports about contacts between Trump associates and Russia. Ultimately, the data and other evidence did not tie the committee to the leaks, and investigators debated whether they had hit a dead end and some even discussed closing the inquiry," the newspaper reported. "But William P. Barr revived languishing leak investigations after he became attorney general a year later. He moved a trusted prosecutor from New Jersey with little relevant experience to the main Justice Department to work on the Schiff-related case and about a half-dozen others, according to three people with knowledge of his work who did not want to be identified discussing federal investigations."

Pelosi blasted the Trump administration in a statement released by her office.

"The news about the politicization of the Trump Administration Justice Department is harrowing. These actions appear to be yet another egregious assault on our democracy waged by the former president," Pelosi said.

"I support Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff's call for an investigation into this situation and other acts of the weaponization of law enforcement by the former president. Transparency is essential," she explained.

Vaccinated lawmakers get to take off their masks in House

WASHINGTON (AP) — Fully vaccinated members of Congress and staffers will no longer have to wear masks on the House floor and in committee rooms, the Office of the Attending Physician said Friday, delighting some GOP lawmakers who have been chafing at the mask-wearing requirements.

The new protocol came nearly a month after vaccinated Americans were told they could ditch their masks, and just days before House lawmakers were set to return to Washington following three weeks in their home districts. Before they left, some Republicans invited fines by not wearing a mask on the House floor.

One of those lawmakers, Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., tweeted Friday in a dig at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: “PELOSI CAVES. FREEDOM PREVAILS.”

Another, Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, R-Iowa, tweeted: “Excellent news! I have been urging the House to lead by example and all fully vaccinated Members to go without masks since April. Great to see the House is FINALLY listening to the science.”

Both of the GOP lawmakers had been fined $500 last month for failing to wear a mask on the House floor. Democrats said they were hoping to ditch their masks, too, but wanted their GOP colleagues to get vaccinated first.

Bug infestations, tent-lined streets: California's homelessness crisis is at a tipping point. Will a $12B plan put a dent in it?
    Christal Hayes, USA TODAY
    Sun, June 13, 2021, 9:00 AM·12 min read

Tent-lined streets with belongings scattered everywhere. Infected wounds with bugs living inside. A man who hasn't showered in over a decade. An 80-year-old woman who can't feed herself. People who ride the metro rail lines because the trains are a safer place to sleep.

California's homeless problem has been out of control for decades. Then came COVID-19.

The result has been a deadly combination of medical crisis, human hopelessness and bureaucratic red tape as the state, reeling from the virus' impacts, tries to rebound with a plan for the 160,000 homeless people. That number eclipses any other state – and accounts for half of the country's entire unsheltered population.

A severe shelter and housing shortage is becoming not just a social services problem, but a political one as well, unlike anywhere in the country – thrusting the problem before the eyes of Californians who see people suffering and dying on the streets each day.

"There isn't real clear leadership, there isn't clear accountability," says John Maceri, who heads The People Concern, one of the largest homeless relief organizations in the Los Angeles area – the epicenter of the crisis. "You have this very fractured system. It really is like herding cats."

The state is at a critical crossroads in its post-pandemic attempt to curb its homeless crisis and the rest of the nation is watching. Gov. Gavin Newsom has earmarked $12 billion – which he called a historic budget to combat homelessness. COVID-19 protections are nearing an end, meaning evictions will soon be allowed and could worsen the problem.

And all of it is happening while a lawsuit threatens to reshape how Los Angeles – and perhaps the state – has tackled this issue after a federal judge issued a scathing rebuke of the decades of failed plans, leadership and promises to fix this problem.

Layers of housing bureaucracy and years without solving homelessness
Solving the cycle of homelessness has befuddled policymakers for decades. Money is thrown at it, as are new ideas. Yet more and more people end up living on the streets.

Typical despicable answer to a problem; throw money at it, you know, after we and our cronies take our cut, and act surprised when the problem remains.

Nancy Pelosi goes scorched earth on Trump while praising Joe Biden's approach to 'thug' Putin

At the tail end of an long interview with CNN's Dana Bash, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blistered former president Donald Trump over his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin who she bluntly described as a "thug."

"Well, I'm very proud of the fact that the president [Joe Biden] is in Europe saying we're back," the Democratic leader told the "State of the Union" host. "We're back for climate. We're back for an open society.

Asked about President Biden's plans to meet with Putin, Pelosi said it was a good idea beforeshe launched into a review of Trump's relationship with the Russian strongman.

"Now let's just make a contrast," she began. "The president -- former president of the United States, for whatever reason, whether the Russians had personal, political or financial leverage over him, kowtowed, catered to Putin in a way that was humiliating to the United States of America. And when, when Putin hears about some of the violations of the rights of his own people, he laughs."

"This is a thug. This is a thug," she repeated. "But he is head of an important state in terms of the issues you raise. The president should meet with him, and I think he's going to meet a very different president than one who was at the mercy of Putin."

One thing we know President Biden is not going to do is hold a press conference with Putin where he just kisses Putin's ass, sucks his dick, and vouches for Putin's lies over the US intelligence Community. That was another time Trump just stood before the world and committed treason against the United States of America.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was seen correcting US President Joe Biden at this weekend's G7 summit in England after the president interrupted him to wrongly suggest that Johnson had failed to introduce South Africa's president at a roundtable of world leaders.

Johnson appeared to twice wave away Biden's interruptions Saturday, while he was hosting a roundtable of world leaders at the G7 summit.

The UK prime minister welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video link and then introduced South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who joined the leaders of the G7 grouping, which consists of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US.

"And the president of South Africa," Biden added to Johnson.

"And the president of South Africa, as I said earlier on," Johnson replied.

    "Oh, you did," Biden said.

"I did, I certainly did," Johnson said.

World leaders agreed at the summit - the major first in-person meeting of the G7 since the coronavirus pandemic - to donate 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses to poorer countries over the next 12 months.

They also agreed to do more to address the climate crisis and renewed a pledge to raise $100 billion a year to help poor countries cut carbon emissions.

Some charities and campaign groups, however, said the commitments were vague and did not go far enough.

"Never in the history of the G7 has there been a bigger gap between their actions and the needs of the world," said Oxfam's head of inequality policy, Max Lawson, in a statement cited by The Guardian.

"We don't need to wait for history to judge this summit a colossal failure - it is plain for all to see."

Pelosi demands two ex-Trump officials testify on 'rogue' surveillance

    Agence France-Presse
    June 14, 2021

House of Representatives speaker Nancy Pelosi with Adam Schiff, chairman of the intelligence committee; she is pushing for an inquiry into Trump administration surveillance of Democrats including Schiff(AFP)

US House speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday demanded that two former attorneys general testify about what she called a "rogue" Justice Department attempt to secretly obtain data from Democrat lawmakers and news outlets.

"What the (Trump) administration did -- the Justice Department, the leadership of the former president -- goes even beyond Richard Nixon," she said on CNN, referring to the Watergate scandal that ended the Nixon presidency.

Democrats expressed outrage Friday over news that the Trump Justice Department had secretly surveilled Democrats probing possible collusion with Russia, securing the phone records of top political foes -- and even of family members including a child -- in what they called an unprecedented abuse of power.

The department also seized records of reporters from CNN, the Washington Post and the New York Times without their knowledge.

And in a striking development on Sunday, the Times reported that the Justice Department in 2018 also subpoenaed the account information of Donald McGahn. As White House counsel to Trump, he was a key point of contact between the president and the Justice Department.

The probe began under Attorney General Jeff Sessions and continued under his successor, Bill Barr. Both recently denied knowledge of any such secret subpoenas.

"This is about undermining the rule of law," Pelosi said Sunday. "And for attorneys general Barr and Sessions to say they didn't know anything about it is beyond belief.

"So, we will have to have them come under oath to testify about that."

Asked if she would subpoena the two men if necessary, Pelosi said she hoped they would "honor the rule of law."

She went on, "the Justice Department has been rogue under President Trump, understand that, in so many respects."

Pelosi said it was essential to determine whether those involved in the operation -- whose targets included intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff, a Democrat -- are still in the Justice Department.

"No matter who is president, whatever party, this cannot be the way it goes."

Pelosi also said she would decide Monday whether to appoint a select committee to investigate the Jan. 6 storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters.

House-passed legislation to create a bipartisan commission to examine the insurrection was blocked when only a handful of Senate Republicans indicated they would support it.

Bipartisan support would confer greater credibility on such an inquiry.

Pelosi told CNN she had promised her Senate counterparts she would give them until Monday to attempt to find the needed votes -- an attempt most analysts expect to fail.

If it does fall short, the speaker said, she will decide whether to go ahead without Republican support.

"This is about an assault on our democracy, on our Capitol of the United States," she said.

"The American people deserve and must have answers. We will seek the truth. We will find the truth."

Hypocrisy again and again....it's ok when the left leaks some critical information when the opposing party is in elected power...until it happens to them.

The leftists short lived power trip will assuredly back fire again...
