We're not even talking about wage stagnation. We're talking about how women have no choice but to work because of prices going up because of households having two incomes because of women being 'liberated' because of feminism. Come on, at least try to keep up.

 

Oh, I see! Prices went up BECAUSE women began to work. That explains why prices are up so dramatically from, say, a year ago...it's because lots of women suddenly decided, as a result of a sudden, uncontrollable surge of feminism, that they wanted to get jobs!

Yes, in the 50's hardly any women worked; now most work. Prices are a lot higher today than they were in the 50's, and this is still taking inflation into account. As I said, before it was common and expected for women to work, the average man's salary could support the average family. Now it takes both the average man's and the average woman's salary to support the average family.

I really don't see what's particularly difficult about this to grasp, although your strawman arguments suggest that you really don't understand what's being typed.

I can only assume that you keep coming back and making these inflammatory comments because you like to 'spar' and stir up the feelings of the female members of the forum and NOT because you believe the gumph you've posted about it all being the 'little womans' fault that you are now paying more for a new house than you would have 10 years ago.. It would be just as valid a point to say that the reason we pay so much more now is because our sporting heroes get paid so much.. in the 50's they took part in their sports AFTER they'd worked a full week as plumbers/carpenters/builders/bankers/etc.. and the pay they got for taking part was minimal.. now look! The average premier league 'soccer' player gets paid MORE per week than I get in a year! How the hell did that happen?

Actually, no, if you take into account inflation, prices today, overall, are EXACTLY what they were in the 50s. That's the definition of inflation.
