Anyone who has lived in a warm climate knows bread does not keep on the shelf. Actually neither does rice!

And coffee goes in the freezer. But that is only if you are a coffee junkie.

I typically give the bag of bread a squeeze to push the air out but sucking the air out is a little much. If nothing else you are touching your mouth to the bag and in turn will pull all those germs into the bag next time it is opened!

 

Good point. Never thought of that. But the bread still seems to last longer.

 

I always get as much air out of zip-lock bags as I can...but I save my sucking for things that were meant to be sucked on.
