It is illegal for French TV Radio and newspapers to use English (American) words
This law caries very heavy fines and jail sentences
If a new English (American) word comes in to existence say hover or spaceshutle a committee invents a French word to have the same meaning and it becomes illegal to use English (American) word
French radio stations and MTV are banned by law from playing over a certain percentage of non French music. If Madonna wants her records played in franc she must record French language versions no other country in the world has laws like this
