  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

There were several made in the 60's/70's, all of them crap from what I saw. Then Tim Burton did a relatively straight movie and did a 're-imagining' of Planet of the Apes with Mark Walbergh 5 or 6 years ago. Wasn't bad and Helana Bohnam Carter looked pretty good in her ape costume. And there was a super-hottie as the poor slave girl...I wanna say her name was Estella Warren, but someone would need to IMDB that to verify.

Super Troopers 2 is already in the works. They'll probably do Potfest as well, just for the hell of it. It has to be better than Club Dread.

Jurassic Park 4? Oh god what a terrible movie that would be... The first one was great because they used animatronics rather than CGI. it made it so much more real. The second one was terrible because plain and simply there was no plot. The third one would have been better if the dinos weren't CGI and it was a bit more involved...

And if they made a forth... where could it take place? If I remember correctly, there were only two islands that the experiments happened on. Maybe there was a third but I can't remember, it's been a while since I read the books...

Would be way to redundant if you ask me

Could be good if they did it right.

What they need is to remake that movie and actually follow along with the original play. Turn it into a well done miniseries that covers the entire epic. It can't be produced by SciFi Channel though. That one they made sucked. Maybe get Steven Spielberg for the directing and George Lucas for the producing. That's a combo that never fails...

I thought I heard that (crap his name eludes me) the guy who plays Spiderman was signed on for a possible 5 movies in all. But I can't remember where I heard that...

Yeah, Master and Commander for sure. I need to read that series actually... But they should make the rest of the books into movies.

And tough luck on the Star Wars thing. Last time I heard, he was thinking about doing 3 more films that take place after Return of the Jedi.

I'm still flabbergasted that they're making a Speed Racer movie. And chances are that will have a sequel. And did you guys here, they already have the new Hulk movie coming out. It's not a sequel, I don't believe, but they're already chuggin it out.

I don't care if they make a sequel to a movie because about 90% of sequels in my book are crap. Oh, and also, not really relating to this thread, but I believe they should stop using CGI in movies so much. I think Star Wars episodes 1 through 3 would have been at least 10 times better if they used models and puppets in the original. (Okay, maybe not for Yoda in episode 2 and 3 cause that would be kinda hard with puppets...)

I'm pretty sure they are making a JP4, or at least talking about it. I recall reading something some months back that the plot was about it being a virus that wiped out the dinosaurs and now it looks like it could mutate and kill humans. Supposedly.

George Lucas is a hack. Plain and simple.

Time for me to buy a hunting rifle. I've got a hack movie director to kill.

Speed Racer looks like it could be good. It's done by the Wachowski brothers and they do good movies. Bound, V for Vendetta, Matrix. I have high hopes for Speed Racer.

As for Hulk, it does look like a sequel. http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/theincrediblehulk/

I'm a little geeked about Iron Man. I've never read the comic, or hardly any comics for that matter, but Robert Downey Jr. is a terrific actor and I think he is what will make the movie work.

That's like 12 volumes or so!

JP4 with mutated dinosaurs? I guess they will be breathing fire..
Steven Spielberg is incredibly talented, but has not the slightest sense of taste.

True true, but when he and Spielberg work together, it does make for a pretty good movie.

What really makes me mad is when the make a sequel to a movie where the first movie was based of a true story.

Balto is a really good example. I actually really liked that movie and still do, because it was done fairly well. But the made something based off a true event have a sequel.... makes no sense to me.

Spielberg can usually be trusted to make entertaining movies, but not usually art. He pulls one out every so often, but his glory days seem to be behind him. We had Close Encounters, which was very good, then we have things like Hook, which as a kid I liked, but as an adult , it was fuckin' horrible. The Indiana Jones movies are Lucas' saving grace, but I have to wonder how much input he has on those. Those movies actually have likable and sympathetic characters in them. On the flip side, we have Star Wars which was able to get terrible performances out of some truly great actors. I'm speaking of Ewan McGregor, Harrison Ford and Natalie Portman (who I consider to be one of the finest actors of her generation).

This ought to give you an insight into small town life Shake. One Christmas Vacation Day my wife and kids and I watched the entire Planet of the Apes series in one sitting. I think there were at least six or seven of them and we were brain dead for that many days afterwards. Oh man did they get progressively more terrible, until you couldn't even imagine what the original was like.

Lucas is a good story man, but needs help to develop an idea into a script and frankly, and I say this as a huge fan of Star Wars AND Indiana Jones, he couldn't direct trafffic. Harrison Ford was good in Star Wars despite Lucas, Mcgregor and Portman were not great in the prequels because of him, and who the hell ever thought Hayden Christianson would be able to act, with or without Lucas's interference?

BUT, given his limitations in the script and directing departments (Ford famously told him while they were filming Star Wars that "You might be able to write this shit, George, but you can't say it!") he does do good storylines with characters that, while rarely ronded 3 dimensional individuals, at least strike a chord with their audience.

I'd be fine with him coming up with ideas, for instance, I enjoyed willow, but he only did the story for that. The screenplay was written by someone else and directed by Ron Howard. But he should not be allowed to have final say on any scripting or be allowed behind the camera.

Fair enough. I think the proof is in the Star Wars films on the scripting issue. He wrote and directed the first, then handed over script writing duties to Lawrence Kasdan for Empire, and look at the difference that made.

Anyway, we've gone on a Lucas tangent from the thread, haven't we?

How about a sequel to Collateral where the good-guy taxi driver goes on a Rambo-esque crusade against organised crome for taking away his taxi and putting him through what he went through in the first one?

Or, on a slightly more serious note, what about a Top Gun sequel?

I dunno, but I will say it would be cool to see some dogfights with those F-22 instead of the antiquated F-14's they used in the original. The Raptors are some kick-ass jets. They look deadly, ya know what I'm sayin'.
