Are you willing to admit you are wrong now @shootersa?

Trump has repeatedly insisted, without evidence, that prior to Jan. 6 he offered to send 20,000 National Guard troops to secure the Capitol that day but that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to accept the offer. Hours before Thursday’s hearing got underway, Trump repeated that assertion on his social media platform, Truth Social. But the select committee swiftly knocked down the claim, showing clips from interviews with multiple former White House staffers, including White House counsel Pat Cipollone and Gen. Keith Kellogg, who served as national security adviser to Vice President Mike Pence. Both stated definitively that they were not aware that Trump issued orders to send the National Guard or any other law enforcement personnel to the Capitol on Jan. 6.

At the risk of having this post removed for documenting how @shootersa constantly pushes the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican party line I will include them to expose the right wing false propaganda lies that Trump offered House Speaker Nancy Pelosi 10,000 national guard for January 6th and she him down. The same right wing false propaganda we see @shootersa posting on this thread.

Hannity’s Tale of Trump’s Jan. 6 National Guard Order Blows Up in His Face

For months, Fox News star Sean Hannity has led his network’s charge to push the flimsy claim that former President Donald Trump ordered thousands of National Guard troops to secure the U.S. Capitol in the days leading up to the Jan. 6 insurrection. This assertion, meant to undermine the Jan. 6 House committee, was pushed by Hannity on his primetime TV show 43 times and his daily radio program 48 times, according to liberal watchdog Media Matters. The committee, however, refuted this claim when it shared testimony from former acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller saying Trump gave no such order. “I was never given any direction or order or knew of any plans of that nature,” Miller said in the video released on Tuesday. “There was no direct—there was no order from the President.” The ex-Trump official added: “We obviously had plans for activating more folks, but that was not anything more than contingency planning. There was no official message traffic or anything of that nature.” Trump, meanwhile, insisted just last month that he “suggested & offered” up to 20,000 National Guard troops be deployed. Other defense and security officials, however, have testified that Trump never asked for a law enforcement response to the attack.

The same right wing false propaganda we see @shootersa posting on this thread."

Lets clarify a few things. First, Shooter has never addressed whether Trump offered anyone troops. Shooter did address whether the house Sgt. at Arms requested troops before Jan. 6 and has shown that indeed, the subject did come up in meetings between the Sgt. at Arms, Paul Irving, the capitol police chief and the speakers office. The short answer was that they collectively decided they didn't want troops there. Now Paul Irving said he wanted them, but his request was refused by his boss, who would be Speaker Pelosi.

Second, Shooter declines to banter with you about this going forward because even when you are presented with the evidence proving a point, you simply deny it.

Third, you have libeled Shooter and other forum members in your lust to attack all things not in line with your agenda and beliefs. Shooter has been insulted and libeled by much better people than a washed up demented broken down rig rat with nothing better to do than expose his ignorance about all things political on a porn forum. You need new material in other words.

Fourth, not much of the insults and bloviation you offer up here matters.
Come mid terms its pretty much now a forgone conclusion that the deplorables will gain majorities in both houses of Congress, which will make biden even less of an effective .............. leader (suppresses snicker) and come 2024 we can only hope that a qualified candidate will appear to lead us out of this hell we find ourselves in. But, come mid terms all your bloviation about trump and conservatives will have to turn to defending biden, pelosi, schumer et al from the slings and arrows that will rain down on them and that are so richly deserved.

    Have a nice day

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol shot down a right-wing talking point on Tuesday by releasing a video deposition of former acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller saying there was no order to have military personal ready ahead of Jan. 6.

“I was never given any direction or order or knew of any plans of that nature,” Miller said in the clip shared by the committee on Twitter.

“To remove any doubt: Not only did Donald Trump fail to contact his Secretary of Defense on January 6th (as shown in our hearing), Trump also failed to give any order prior to January 6 to deploy the military to protect the Capitol,” the committee wrote, adding, “Here is Secretary Miller’s testimony.”

The idea that Trump ordered troops to secure Washington, D.C. ahead of the attack on the Capitol has circulated on the right for months and has been used by some to suggest House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is in fact to blame for the attack.

“And on January 4th in that room, Donald Trump authorized the use of up to 20,000 National Guard troops knowing that there was going to be a large crowd coming to the nation’s capital, that they would be marching on the Capitol,” said Sean Hannity on Fox News in February.

Hannity was repeating claims by acting Pentagon chief-of-staff Kash Patel who told him that Trump “unequivocally authorized up to 20,000 National Guardsmen and women for us to utilize should the second part of the law, the requests come in, but those requests never did.” Hannity, however, glossed over the second part of Patel’s statement.

Hannity has also pushed the unfounded narrative that Pelosi blocked the National Guard from being deployed on Jan. 6.

“Nancy Pelosi refused President Trump’s multiple requests to have the National Guard at the Capitol,” wrote Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) on Twitter, adding, “She should be in jail.”

While there have been reports of a meeting in the days prior to Jan. 6th, in which Trump raised the prospect of needing “10,000” troops in Washington, D.C. no order was given to the Pentagon.

“There was no direct, there was no order from the President,” said Miller who ran the Pentagon during Trump’s last days in office. “We have no record of such an order being given,” said Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby in December of 2021.

“We obviously had plans for activating more folks, but that was not anything more than contingency planning,” Miller added. “There was no official message traffic or anything of that nature.”

Trump himself has pushed this debunked claim, saying a June 9th statement that he “suggested & offered” up to 20,000 National Guard troops be called to Washington, DC, as he believed “that the crowd was going to be very large” on Jan. 6.

The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley also told committee that Trump never spoke to him or gave him orders regarding troop movements on Jan. 6, even as the attack was unfolding.

This was another one of Trump's blatant lies highlighted by the last J6 hearing and some believe it amounts to an attempted White House cover up that also needs to be investigated.

Fact Check: Did Trump Call in the National Guard After Rioters Stormed the Capitol?

After the chaos of the raid on the Capitol on Wednesday, there is still much confusion over the response of federal law enforcement and the delayed authorization of the National Guard and police support.

While President Donald Trump initially encouraged his supporters to march to the Capitol, he later asked the mob to "remain peaceful," nonviolent and support law enforcement in a tweet that said, "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!

Minutes later, Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tweeted that the president directed the National Guard to protect the Capitol.

Trump lies in his new Twitter video. He did not "immediately" deploy the National Guard.

    The Facts

After the video was posted, it was widely reported that Trump was not directly involved with the deployment of the National Guard on Wednesday.

In a statement Wednesday, Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller did not mention working with Trump. He said he "spoke separately with the Vice President [Mike Pence] and with Speaker Pelosi, Leader McConnell, Senator Schumer and Representative Hoyer about the situation at the U.S. Capitol."

Reports show that Trump was initially hesitant to involve the National Guard. NBCsaid Trump "had to be convinced" and that Pence was in contact with the Pentagon and "encouraged a much more rapid deployment."

According to CNN, Trump was less eager to deploy federal forces on Capitol Hill on Wednesday than he had been for other protests, but "Pence played a key role in coordinating with the Pentagon about deploying them, and urged them to move faster than they were."

Trump did not immediately deploy the National Guard yesterday, as he claims in his video. He initially resisted it, according to several people, as CNN, NYT and others reported.

As the commander-in-chief, Trump is in charge of the country's armed forces and is the commanding general of the D.C. National Guard but not the Capitol Police, who, according to the Capitol Police website is overseen by the four members of the Capitol Police Board, with Congressional oversight.

While Trump was less involved in giving orders Wednesday, he gave Miller the green light earlier in the week.

"The acting secretary and the president have spoken multiple times this week about the request for National Guard personnel in D.C.," said Kash Patel, Miller's chief of staff. "During these conversations, the president conveyed to the acting secretary that he should take any necessary steps to support civilian law enforcement requests in securing the Capitol and federal buildings."

The deployment of the National Guard was anything but immediate.

The Department of Defense is the lead federal agency in these situations. Pentagon officials said that law enforcement was overwhelmed and responses were slow because they believed the amount of law enforcement personnel leading up to Wednesday's events was adequate.

"We don't do domestic [intelligence] collection," Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said. "We rely on Capitol Police and federal law enforcement to provide an assessment of the situation. And based on that assessment that they had, they believed they had sufficient personnel and did not make a request."

When D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser asked for the assistance of the D.C. National Guard (DCNG) earlier in the week, the troops were approved only for crowd and traffic control. The Pentagon prohibited troops from: receiving ammunition or riot gear; interacting with protesters unless necessary for self-defense; sharing equipment with local law enforcement; or using Guard surveillance and air assets without the defense secretary's explicit sign-off, according to The Washington Post.

According to the Department of Defense, once the protest turned more violent, Bowser requested more assistance and Secretary Miller "immediately called up 1,200 members of the D.C. National Guard."

However, multiple reports show that the Pentagon refused authorization of additional National Guard support after rioters broke into the Capitol.

The District of Columbia City Council said Bowser's request to expand the responsibility of the DCNG so they could help protect the Capitol was denied.

Bowser turned to surrounding state governments for support. While the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) allows Bowser to request aid from state national guards within D.C. city limits, out-of-state troops need federal approval to assist on federal property.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan received a call from Representative Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) from an "undisclosed bunker" to send support but was stalled by the Pentagon.

"I was actually on the phone with Leader Hoyer who was pleading with us to send the guard," Hogan said in The Washington Post. "He was yelling across the room to Schumer and they were back and forth saying we do have the authorization and I'm saying, 'I'm telling you we do not have the authorization.'"

As he continued to mobilize his troops, Hogan waited 90 minutes before getting a call from Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy that federal authorization was granted for his National Guard to go to the Capitol. The DCNG is under the president's control, but the commanding authority is delegated to the Secretary of the Army.

"I can't tell you what was going on on the other end, on the decision-making process," Hogan said. "There's been lots of speculation in the media about that, but I'm not privy to what was going on inside the White House or inside the Pentagon."

Hogan told MSNBC that Miller called him Friday to thank Maryland for sending in police and National Guard but didn't say anything about why the Pentagon initially denied permission to send support to D.C.

    https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check...l-guard-after-rioters-stormed-capitol-1560186

Milley also described his interactions with Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows that day, drawing a stark contrast between those conversations with Pence.

“He said: We have to kill the narrative that the Vice President is making all the decisions. We need to establish the narrative, you know, that the President is still in charge and that things are steady or stable, or words to that effect,” Milley says in the video, referring to what Meadows told him.

“I immediately interpreted that as politics. Politics. Politics. Red flag for me, personally. No action. But I remember it distinctly,” he added.

CNN previously reported that Pence, not Trump, facilitated the mobilization of National Guard troops to respond to the riot.

Donald Trump Repeats False Claim He Ordered ’10-20,000 Troops’ on Jan. 6, Despite His Own Defense Secretary Debunking

Former President Donald Trump released a statement on Tuesday attacking the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and repeated a debunked claim surrounding the attack, which has become a standard talking point on the right.

“The Unselect Committee of Political Thugs has not devoted one hour to the massive Election Fraud and Irregularities that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election, the reason that hundreds of thousands of people went to Washington on January 6th. When will they start?” Trump said in a statement released by his Save America Pac.

“The Unselects also refuse to look at why Crazy Nancy Pelosi and the Mayor of D.C. turned down from 10-20,000 troops. Why is this, I wonder?” he added.

On July 26th, the Jan. 6 Committee released a clip of testimony from Trump’s former acting Defense Secretary Chris Miller saying there was no order given to have military personal ready ahead of Jan. 6 – including the National Guard.

“To remove any doubt: Not only did Donald Trump fail to contact his Secretary of Defense on January 6th (as shown in our hearing), Trump also failed to give any order prior to January 6 to deploy the military to protect the Capitol,” the committee wrote on Twitter above the clip.

“I was never given any direction or order or knew of any plans of that nature,” Miller says in the clip.

Trump has made this claim multiple times before and blamed Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for the violence that day.

In March 2021, Trump said on Fox News:

I definitely gave the number of 10,000 National Guardsmen and [said] I think you should have 10,000 of the National Guard ready. They took that number. From what I understand, they gave it to the people at the Capitol, which is controlled by [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi. And I heard they rejected it because they didn’t think it would look good.

Trump’s claim has been repeated across the right from GOP House members to opinion hosts like Sean Hannity, who has made the claim dozens of times on air.

The Washington Post conducted a thorough fact check surrounding the claims and found them to be categorically false, noting that no issue for troops in D.C. was ever given:

Trump made an offhand remark in a meeting unrelated to the events of Jan. 6, based on an inflated expectation of the crowd that would gather that day. Moreover, when the Capitol was breached, Trump was AWOL, unengaged in the effort to end the riot and restore order.

Furthermore, if Trump had wanted troops to be present in D.C. on Jan. 6 he could have ordered the D.C. National Guard to activate, which Pelosi could not refuse. “The D.C. National Guard is the only National Guard unit, out of all of the 54 states and territories, which reports only to the President,” notes the “About Us” section on their website.

A CNN fact-checker on Monday walked through Donald Trump's bizarre claims about George H.W. Bush's handling of presidential records.

The twice-impeached former president told supporters over the weekend at a Nevada rally that his Republican predecessor took numerous government records to a restaurant for storage, as the Department of Justice continues to investigate his own mishandling of classified materials.

This is a dishonest claim. The truth: *the National Archives* sorted Bush docs for his library in a heavily secured facility (patrols, cameras, sensors) that happened to be a former alley/restaurant. As with Obama docs the Archives took to Chicago, Bush didn’t take them himself.

"George H.W. Bush took millions of documents to a former bowling alley and a former Chinese restaurant where they combined them," Trump told supporters. "So they're in a bowling alley-slash-Chinese restaurant."

However, that's not what actually happened, according to CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale.

"This is a dishonest claim," Dale tweeted. "The truth: *the National Archives* sorted Bush docs for his library in a heavily secured facility (patrols, cameras, sensors) that happened to be a former alley/restaurant. As with Obama docs the Archives took to Chicago, Bush didn’t take them himself."

Trump, whom the FBI says took hundreds of government documents to his Mar-a-Lago resort, suggested that Bush himself had carelessly taken those records to a bowling alley-turned-Chinese restaurant, but Dale found a 1994 news report about the situation.

"Uniformed guards patrol the premises," the Los Angeles Times reported at the time. "There are closed-circuit television monitors and sophisticated electronic detectors along walls and doors. Some printed material is classified and will remain so for years; it is open only to those with top-secret clearances."

The Washington Post also reported in 1993 that Bush's documents were temporarily stored in the building Trump described, but the process was carried out by the National Archives in accordance with the Presidential Records Act.

"No equivalence between 'NARA takes docs to NARA facility that used to be something else' and 'Trump takes docs to his home and won't give them back to NARA,'" Dale concluded.

Can anyone name one time where the man ever told the truth? I am sure there are a few but his lies to truth’s ratio is probably 20:1. 20 lies and 1 truth. Seriously when was the last he was fact checked and he told the truth? Not very many times. Yet there is a third of the GOP that trusts him? Trusts him to do what? Destroy democracy and install an autocratic government? FU€K him and FU€K them! Done with the MAGAT BULLSHIT! DONE!

As the mental health experts pointed out for years one of Trump's forms of mental illness is he is a pathological liar incapable of telling the truth.

But where the blame really lies is with his supporters. There is no logical excuse for them to support a pathological liar and especially when due to his lies Trump constantly contradicts himself. So they fully support what he says one day and then just as fully support when he says the opposite a day or two later.

The only way that can happen is they have actually become cult followers with a shared psychosis with Trump and are willing to suspend all disbelief for their cult leader. And they are literally trying to destroy the United States of America for it.

Decades from now Trump will be regarded the way one thinks of a country club member who was admitted during an unfortunate moment of lapse.

If you lie often enough about the same thing, ignorant people believe it is the truth AND even some intelligent people start the 'no smoke without fire' uncertainty.

Trump counts on the uniformed and the ignorant believing him. He already has the corrupt on his side. He just needs to keep brainwashing the innocent but easily deluded.

Donald Trump Repeats False Claim He Ordered ’10-20,000 Troops’ on Jan. 6, Despite His Own Defense Secretary Debunking

This is similar to his 'I declassified the records by thinking it'.

He will say 'I put my aluminum brain-power-stimulator hat on and thought about ordering 10,000 to 20,000 troops. They must not have gotten my super-intelligent mental message.'

Right here on this very thread you can see @shootersa and others trying to pass that lie off as the gospel including those claiming Trump offered those national guard troops and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi turned him down. There is just a ton of proof all that is just a stupid lie. But Trump cult followers can deny all proof and suspend all disbelief to believe whatever Trump says whenever he says it.

We see that Hutchinson has now taken her show on the road down to Georgia to, you know, tell the people down there how Trump lunged at a fake elector who wasn't moving quite fast enough. Or maybe it was that she was told by someone who knew someone who had a brother that worked on the phone system Trump used to call down to Georgia.

Can't blame Hutchinson though, any more than we can blame Dr. Ford.

You should tell Fani Willis that you don't trust Cassidy Hutchinson to truthfully testify about what she saw and heard while she worked in the White House. After all, she only "saw" ketchup on the wall of Trump's dining room and only "heard" it was Trump's ketchup. She has no way of knowing if it was really ketchup. It could have been any red condiment.
