Marjorie Taylor Greene Urges U.S. to Leave NATO to Avoid War with Russia, Newsweek, BY GERRARD KAONGA ON 6/30/22

Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene recently argued that she felt the U.S. should leave NATO to avoid a conflict with Russia.

On Wednesday evening, Greene took to her Twitter account to share a Wall Street Journal article reflecting on the increasing tension between the U.S. and Russia following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

She also warned that she believed the U.S. could be dragged into a conflict with Russia if things continued as they are.

    -------------

If we let the Russians conquer Ukraine they will be tempted to invade Poland and Finland. Both were part of the Russian Empire under the Czars. Putin wants to restore the Russian Empire.

On the other hand, when Russia loses a war Russia becomes more Democratic. After losing the Crimean War of 1853 Russia ended serfdom. After losing the Russian - Japanese War of 1905 Russia began a democratically elected Duma, and the Czar became a constitutional monarch. After losing their war in Afghanistan the Soviet Union fell.

No other president has just taken document like this. And to claim he declassified them prior, where the paperwork to support that claim?

    So?

And Trump has told so many lies, I don't believe him.

It is also unprecedented that a president would just take documents without notifying the National Archives.

Kind of harsh? He is claiming it's political! But you just spin it around and try to make Trump the victim. Had he cooperated in the first place and have everything back all at once, we shouldn't be here.
Now you're just conflating everything and blaming the FBI for it all...
I've been listening to Garland. Don't need anyone else's word.

Has Garland explained why they took Trump's passports?
Cause even anon would agree, a passport was not part of the search warrant.
And has garland explained why those passports weren't listed on the return of service? Cause that raises some troubling questions about what else was taken and not listed, don't you agree, anon?

Have we seen the list of what was to be taken in the search? Sorry, I just have a hard time keeping up. Thought I heard that the passports were to be returned this morning (monday, 8/22)

Obama took so many documents with him that to get final approval to keep them he had to promise to get them digitized and put in a data base at his library so they could be accessed by FOAR. Nothing has been done to date.

    That is absolutely your choice.

No. Actually, it is not. A president is not allowed to take "official" documents or original documents. I'm not sure that anyone but Trump and the FBI know what these are. If they are official or original documents, then it seems he was wrong.

Trump is, in fact, claiming that this is political when compared to, for example, when the FBI allowed Hillary Clinton to get away with wiping an illegal, unsecured server in her home that was literally filled with confidential information. Or when she physically destroyed work phones that had already been subpoened. There were no warrants or raids or arrests then. Why?
By the way, how do you know that he has not already cooperated with the FBI and somebody decided to take it one step further? He says he has, the FBI says he has not. I know, I know, you've been listening to Garland and don't need anyone else's word (see last quote below).

All I did was remind you that, given the FBI history over the last 6 years and because of all of the anonymous leaking which only supports one side of the story (just like we've previously seen in the RussiaGate Probe, the Mueller Investigation, Impeachment 1, Impeachment 2, the J6 Committee and now the Mar-a-Lago Raid), to assume now that you are getting the truth this time is perhaps a little premature. Anonymous leaks like these almost always end up being some type of disinformation campaign driving someone else's unknown agenda.
How is mentioning this conflating everything? Or anything, for that matter?

Well done! Spoken like a true, closed-minded partisan. You do realize that with this comment, you've said the quiet part out loud?

Obama didn't "take" anything. He worked with the National Archives to clear all those documents. Plus, they are for public display, not stored away in some basement.

Do you have a link to this "digitized" part. This is the first I've heard of that.

And how do you know nothing has been done to date?
So you truly believe there is nothing to this? You really think that Garland would risk his entire reputation over this?
Well, for one, he could have given them everything when they got the first 15 boxes. He didn't. And second, he was given a subpoena for the remaining documents, which his lawyer said were not at Mar-a-lago, only to find them during the warrant search.
What leaked info are you talking about? This is the second time you've mentioned it without giving any specifics.
So you tell me not to listen to the leaks, and I tell you I'm not (mostly because you've given no examples of what you're talking about), but now you tell me that I'm closed minded because I'm listening to the one person with the authority to release this info.

And you do realize you're full of shit?

    Silly games?
You claimed trump was given a subpoena for documents he said he didn't have. And that those documents were found during the search.
    So, which documents?
    What were they, exactly?

    1. toniter
I imagine we may never know 'exactly' which docs were taken. T is fighting to sequestur (sp) the docs as well.

Feel like you fell down a rabbit hole just now?
    Don't worry about it.
Trying to have a conversation with the village idiot will do that to you.

    Say, @anon_de_plume
So earlier, and before that you claimed trump was given a subpoena for documents he said he didn't have. And that those documents were found during the search of Mar a Lago on August 8.
    So, which documents?
    What were they, exactly?
    Where, exactly, were they found?
We should be able to tell from the return of service, right?

    Shooter will help you.
    First, the return of service (inventory) of things taken by the FBI during the search does not follow the law or FBI policy. Not even close. A valid inventory might say something like;
    1) box of documents labeled A-1 containing approximately 150 pages of written matter, some marked "Top Secret", found in a locked room in the basement of the residence described in this warrant, on a shelf in the rear of the room. Confiscated by agent Snoop as witnessed by agent sniff.
    2) two page document entitled "Pardon of Roger Stone and signed by Donald Trump dated XX-XX-XXXX found in the top drawer of a dresser in the main bedroom that also contained ladies undergarments. Confiscated by agent Sniff as witnessed by agent snoop.
    3) Diplomatic passport for Donald Trump dated xx-xx-xxxx. Found in the top left hand desk drawer in the office under a pile of Playboy magazines, confiscated by agent Snoop as witnessed by agent sniff.

And it would be witnessed by at least one other agent and a resident of the house, such as Trump himself or his lawyer, or if they were not present, by a third credible witness. You might recall, the lawyer for Trump and everyone else not with the FBI or DOJ was not allowed to be present during the search. That alone is a serious violation that places the legality of the entire search at risk.

The passports were taken and were not in any way relevant to the search or the limits of the search warrant. They were not listed in the return of service. This also raises serious legal questions about the validity of the search, how legally it was conducted, and it potentially taints the legal value of everything taken in the search and anything that develops from that search. And while we're at it, what the hell does Roger Stone's pardon order have to do with anything?

Now do you understand? The agents conducting this search appear to have screwed the pooch royally. The leaks coming from the FBI/DOJ/Pundits making a story (commonly listed as "a source familiar with the situation") have stated exactly what you said; trump was given a subpoena for documents he said he didn't have. And that those documents were found during the search of Mar a Lago on August 8.

The problem is, what documents, you know, exactly? Not "engineering plans for a nuclear device weighing less than 40 LBS." but "documents marked Top secret originating from the Department of Defense and dated XX-XX-XXXX."

A "box of documents" doesn't come close, does it?

See the problem? A court is almost certain to toss out this search and everything taken during the search and anything that might develop as a result of that search, because FBI agents and DOJ lawyers present for the search did not follow basic policy even a rookie cop still in the police academy would know.

Now, why, do you suppose, did they do that?
Cause Shooter can't imagine what they did was out of stupid, or ignorance, or cause they were drunk.
    Can you?

So what other motive might they have had?

On second read, I've got to wonder how you "know" her server was filled with confidential information, when everything about Trump they demand to know exactly what classified information there was at Mar-a-lago.

Hillary’s server in her basement accessed and received information from her White House server and that information isn’t allowed to leave the White House. Garland is a joke and labeled concerned parents who spoke up against CRT domestic terrorists so the FBI could do some usual back door shady searches and have a bs reason it’s ok to do so. But anyway I thought this was about MTG. She’s to the point no bs and wants answers for the corruption and wants to hold the hypocrites accountable. Pretty cool to me

No, he didn't. The issue was not over CRT, it was over death threats being issued to school board members.

I've given you enough examples for you to find out the rest on your own. If anyone here is playing games, it is you, sir. For someone to claim they have no idea about the anonymous leaking going on by Federal agents regarding the Mar-a-Lago raid, when those leaks have recently been in the news so much, is a remarkably revealing claim to be made by someone who we all here have assumed was quite aware of current events.

Worse, for someone who posts all the time about this subject to make this claim is incomprehensible....

Finally though, once made aware of this deficit, if they really were not aware of these leaks yet continue to make inane comments about others playing games rather than getting up to speed on the subject...this makes them look pugnaciously partisan and unworthy of future interaction.

One final thing, before you go back to claiming that all I do is play games or insult you, be aware the above are neither of these things, they are observations. Being constantly offended by many of the posters here and claiming they're the ones playing games or that they're being mean to you doesn't mean you're right...about anything. It just means that you're too weak and too much of a narcissist to tolerate other's opinions. Now that sir, that was an insult!

Shooter is right, when you talk sense to a fool, all he'll do is call you foolish.

RUFKM? The whole world knows about Hillary Clinton's private email server holding classified information because Comey spoke about it in his infamous presser before the 2016 election. About every US newspaper carried articles about it at the time as did most international versions; it was posted on the internet in somewhere between about 30000 and 300000 different places (NOTE: that's my estimation because I just know that anon is going to look that up). Just google hillary clinton server.
This is clearly a game with you, right?

Anon's response is adopted from the infamous Bill Clinton School of Word Parsing as he conveniently ignores what preceded those "threats". This is like telling the police that "Honest, officer, this person came out of nowhere and just broadsided me at this intersection," while conveniently leaving out the fact that you ran a red light.

Knoxxx13 said: so the FBI could do some usual back door shady searches and have a bs reason it’s ok to do so

Geez, I wonder. I don't know, ohhhh maybe, could it be that he might, just maybe, be talking about the Mar-a-Lago raid? I mean the raid about which some people apparently are so willfully ignorant?
