Koreans love shows like that. They get Jerry Springer and Cheaters over there and can't get enough of it. I didn't speak Korean enough to know how they were being translated in the subtitles, it's certainly not always accurate, but I met more than a few Koreans who thought that's how Americans really are! The most socially repulsive and uneducated among us are being turned in to our Ambassadors to the rest of the world.

Well at least it makes the rest of us look phenomenally classy when we do travel abroad. Maybe? There must be some silver lining.

You haven't met some of the people who travel abroad, I take it. Although Canadians seem to have a worse time of it than Americans do, sometimes. Like if you've seen Duecue Bigilo 2, where the Canadian is shitting on the sidewalk and then jumps up and screams, 'Yeah! I just shit on the sidewalk!" and runs off with his Canadian flag patch on his backpack, that's almost the way of it.

Many of the Canadians I've met defined themselves as 'Not-American!' and some will get incredibly offended if a Korean makes the mistake and assumes that because they white/foreign, they're American. They can have some huge chips on their shoulder.

The Irish and the Kiwis were always fun to party with, though. Canadians and Aussies could be problematic. Brits were oftentimes in the middle of the Irish and the Canadians.
