    Der Fuhrer has spoken!

“I will never run against our great President,’ she said, ‘he has done an outstanding job.’ To which I responded, ‘How nice of you to say, Nikki,’ knowing full well that her words mean nothing. She even came to Mar-a-Lago with her family, ‘bearing gifts.’ Anyway, Birdbrain doesn’t have the TALENT or TEMPERAMENT to do the job. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” - Donald Trump

It just proves how much he hates the United States of America and every great thing it has ever stood for. Anyone who has any love at all for our country would jump to the defense of our Constitution and democracy and be some of the first to condemn Trump.

They all know. They all know there was no massive voter fraud. And they choose to lie about that. Which is what makes them treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans. As well as anyone who won't admit that and condemn Trump for not only his Big Lie but also making telling that lie the standard to survive in what was once the Republican party.

Pence joins Republicans eviscerated by contradicting Trump’s election lies

The rise of Rep. Mike Johnson in the House, coupled with the fall of former Vice President Mike Pence and the dominance of ex-President Donald Trump, shows that 2020 election denialism is a prerequisite for winning Republican power.

Johnson, who played a leading role in the effort to block the certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win, benefited in his ascent to the speakership last week from the approval of pro-Trump lawmakers.

Pence suspended his run for the White House over the weekend after months mired in the single digits in surveys. His tortured explanations of his constitutionality correct decision – that he lacked power to overturn Biden’s 2020 election win in Congress – failed to convince grassroots Republicans bought into the ex-president’s false claims that he won the election. Pence now joins the swelling ranks of Republicans, from former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney to retiring Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, whose careers were eviscerated by contradicting Trump’s lies.

Those lies – namely that he was unfairly and illegally ejected from the White House – are now the foundation of Trump’s 2024 campaign to win it back. And after discrediting the electoral system in the eyes of millions of his supporters, Trump is now setting about tarnishing another pillar of America’s democratic institutions – the courts. Over the weekend, the former president stepped up his social media rants at the judge presiding over a fraud trial in New York that targets him, his adult sons and his company, after he was fined for a second time last week for breaching a gag order by apparently attacking court personnel on social media.

The trial – and Trump’s attempt to fight the case in the court of public opinion with inflammatory commentary – is a prelude to an unprecedented election year, with the runaway GOP front-runner facing four criminal trials and the possibility he could be a convicted felon by Election Day in November 2024. In one of those criminal matters – the federal election subversion case – the judge on Sunday reinstated the gag order against him, denying his request to pause it while his appeal played out.

Trump’s mood is unlikely to improve in the coming week with his adult children expected to be called to testify in the New York civil case. Given that the judge has already ruled the Trump Organization committed fraud, the ex-president is presenting the civil prosecution as an attempt to wreck his 2024 aspirations. He, for instance, warned in a fundraising email earlier this month that the trial in New York was “a way to keep him off the campaign trail and to threaten him with the ‘corporate death penalty’ if he chooses to continue his campaign for president.” The claim was false, but it is likely to be accepted by Trump’s most committed supporters.

    Pence bows to the inevitable
The failure of Pence’s campaign says as much about a brand of Republicanism that may be gone forever as it does his own political skills.

The former vice president’s campaign was a bid to drag the GOP back to its pre-Trump era. He offered social conservatism, traditional hardline fiscal policies and internationalism through strength in foreign policy that contrasted with his former boss’ fawning toward autocrats like Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But his failure to even reach the Iowa caucuses – the first GOP nominating contest in January – shows that a party still in thrall to Trump is unwilling to hear the truth about the 2020 election and may have turned against Ronald Reagan-style Republicanism for good. As he futilely trekked through early voting states, confronting false perceptions about his power to block the result of the 2020 election, Pence seemed to be trying to win over a party that no longer existed. He told CNN in August, for instance, that he had no right to reject or return slates of electoral votes back to the states and that “by God’s grace, I did my duty under the Constitution of the United States.”

But the former vice president, who tried to claim credit for popular aspects of Trump’s presidency while escaping fury over his role in certifying the election in Congress, discovered that Trump is more popular than truth in the modern GOP. The wonder was it took him so long to conclude his campaign was hopeless. Adding to Pence’s humiliation, Trump said his former number two should endorse him — even though he ran a campaign that repudiated the ex-president’s populism.

Despite his low standing in polls, Pence is the most high-profile Republican candidate to abandon a 2024 presidential campaign so far. His departure may marginally boost the hopes of other contenders vying to become the alternative to Trump before voting opens in January.

“It just means this race is narrowing, which everyone said that it would,” former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” on Sunday. “It never goes as fast as some folks would like, but it is narrowing.” The long-shot 2024 hopeful added: “I’m going to be ready to take on Donald Trump when people actually do start to vote in New Hampshire in particular.”

Given Trump’s dominance, however, there is no guarantee that a narrowing field will threaten the former president’s lead with time so short. An alternative lesson that the ex-president’s rivals might draw is that forceful condemnations of Trump’s 2020 election denialism are likely to be fatal to their campaigns. Indeed, candidates like Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley have usually only dared to criticize Trump obliquely over his constitutional vandalism and criminal exposure – including two indictments linked to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election. They have said it’s time to move on from the dramas of the past and avoided going into details over the ex-president’s assault on democracy.

Johnson represents the mainstream of his party in doubting Biden’s election win
Johnson has yet to publicly address his leading role in attempts to discredit Biden’s 2020 election win, having only taken part in a couple of friendly Fox News interviews since becoming the most powerful elected Republican last week after weeks of chaos caused by the ouster of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy. When a reporter asked him about the issue during a news conference on Capitol Hill, she was booed by GOP lawmakers — one of whom told her to shut up.

Johnson was not as vocal as Trump in claiming that the 2020 election was marred by outright fraud or was a plot by Democrats to deprive the ex-president of a second term. But the Louisiana Republican orchestrated a number of the legal and quasi-constitutional efforts to cast doubt on Biden’s win. For example, he organized support among GOP lawmakers for a legal brief that joined Texas and other red states that questioned the results in swing states won by Biden. And on January 6, 2021, he signed a statement explaining that he and 36 other House Republicans would vote to sustain objections to electors from key states Biden won because they felt the votes were unconstitutional because of accommodations officials made to voters during the pandemic. And even after the US Capitol insurrection that day, Johnson joined the majority of House Republicans in voting to reject Electoral College votes.

While his actions then threatened the democratic fabric of the nation, they appear to have helped his political career.

There was evidence last week that Johnson’s maneuvering after the 2020 election helped secure his rise to the speakership. The little-known lawmaker emerged as a compromise candidate amid deep fatigue and frustration in the GOP conference as gaping splits in the party were making it impossible to find a new speaker. But the previous candidate for speaker, Rep. Tom Emmer of Minnesota, was mistrusted by many Trump backers because he didn’t vote to block the certification of Biden’s victory. Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, for example, said that Emmer’s vote to certify the 2020 election “played a big role” in her vote against him. “I couldn’t support a speaker of the House that didn’t object,” Greene said. “The speaker of the House needs to reflect the views and the will of Republican voters,” Greene said, reflecting the imperative for leading party figures to indulge the beliefs of base voters even if they aren’t true and even if they come at a cost with the general electorate.

Democrats are already trying to make Johnson’s record on election credibility into a liability as the 2024 campaign heats up with Republicans seeking to cling onto their House majority.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, for instance, sent a fundraising email to supporters on Sunday arguing that House Republicans “made the architect of their anti-democratic schemes” the speaker of the House. “We must defeat their MAGA Majority and win back the House in 2024,” the email said.

‘Belongs In Jail’: Hedge Fund Billionaire Warns Voters About Donald Trump
    Josephine Harvey
Tue, October 31, 2023 at 9:34 AM MDT·1 min read
    726

Hedge fund billionaire Leon Cooperman said it would be “terrible for the country” if Donald Trump was reelected in 2024, according to CNN.

“He’s a divisive human being who belongs in jail,” the Wall Street titan told the network in an interview.

Cooperman, who, according to Forbes, has a net worth of $2.8 billion, famously traded blows with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) during her 2020 presidential run over her proposal for a wealth tax.

He also made headlines for controversial comments about Barack Obama in 2012 after taking issue with the then-president’s tax policies.

Over the years, Cooperman, 80, has donated predominantly to Republican candidates and political committees, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Most recently, he gave to the presidential campaign of Chris Christie, Trump’s biggest Republican detractor in the 2024 race.

Cooperman told CNN he’s looking for “centrists, not radical left or right,” and has been critical of Trump in the past.

He told CNBC in 2020 that he voted for President

because “I voted my values and not my pocketbook.”

“I’ll be richer tomorrow if Trump wins. I’ll probably be poorer tomorrow if Biden wins,” he said on Election Day.

On a podcast last year, he called Trump a “would-be dictator” with “no allegiance to anybody but himself,” noting that he voted for Biden “very reluctantly.”

A Trump campaign spokesperson told CNN in response to Cooperman’s remarks that Trump will “beat Biden because he’s the only person who can supercharge the economy, secure our border, safeguard communities and put an end to unnecessary wars.”

Cooperman founded the Omega Advisors hedge fund and worked at Goldman Sachs for over two decades.

Now I have always just been incredibly skeptical of trying to keep Trump off any state ballots using the 14 amendment. In fact on a few other liberal leaning sites I have called it a wet fever dream that people were wasting their time even entertaining.

But then I started seeing some pretty persuasive legal arguments about why and how the 14th amendment could apply to Trump. Eve though the one thing everyone seemed to agree on is it would be a crap shoot that would have to be decided by the Supreme Court.

And now I do have to admit that it least the idea seems to be picking up some momentum.

'Absurd!' Legal scholar destroys Trump's claim he's exempt from Fourteenth Amendment

Former President Donald Trump is faced with lawsuits in multiple states trying to disqualify him from the ballot under the 14th Amendment's Insurrection Clause, which prohibits anyone who engaged in insurrection from serving in public office without a waiver from Congress. Trump's attorneys have argued that this prohibition doesn't apply to the office of president — but that's a ridiculous reading that doesn't make any sense, argued retired Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe on MSNBC Tuesday.

"Does Section 3 apply to presidents, the meaning of engaged in insurrection as used in Section 3, and did Trump's actions meet the standard for Section 3?" asked anchor Joy Reid. "Your thoughts, sir."

"I think the answers to all of those questions are quite clear," said Tribe, one of the most outspoken advocates for constitutionally disqualifying Trump. "It is clear that Section 3 by itself says that anyone who 'engages in an insurrection or rebellion against the Constitution of the United States' — that's the phrase, not just against the government, but against the Constitution of the United States — is not entitled to another bite at that apple. Now, Donald Trump says that might apply to a county commissioner in New Mexico, but it doesn't apply to him, because it doesn't apply to the president. That is an absurd argument."

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

"I won't go into the details, but it's clear that if there's any officer in the country who would be a danger to democracy if he were allowed again to manipulate our processes, it is someone who took the oath as president and then turned around and tried to overturn the central part of the Constitution, which is the transition from one president to another," said Tribe. "And in accord with who actually wins the election, not who says I believe I won, I thought i won, I should have won, how could I have lost to this guy, but the person who our legal process determines as the winner. Now, one of the things that Mr. Trump — and by the way, in the Michigan filing today, he calls himself 'President Trump' 35 times — he seems to think that he won the election, but I have news for him. The Constitution says that you serve for only four years. And if you lose the Electoral College, that's the end of it."

"He argues, I never really took the kind of oath that Section 3 talks about," Tribe continued. "It talks about an oath to support the Constitution. I didn't take that oath. I took the oath that the president takes. It's an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. Now, that's how ridiculous the arguments get. The legal arguments are clear. But the political argument is not so clear. A lot of people say even though Congressman Raskin's examples are perfect, they wouldn't apply it to a 30-year-old or to someone not a natural-born citizen, but they say let the people decide, even if someone is not eligible. That's not the way that people who fought the Civil War decided we needed to handle it. They decided that you needed to disqualify anyone who basically is a traitor to the Constitution. That kind of person is dangerous. Dangerous as a person who might attempt to seize power and then never let go."

"That's the history of autocracies around the world," added Tribe. "Somebody manages to make it into office, and then they decide they're going to stay. That's the danger against which this language is designed to protect us all."

Trump flips out over ballot cases: 'They are trying to illegally remove my name'

Donald Trump on Tuesday posted a video in which he rails against recent efforts to have the former president blocked from state ballots for purportedly aiding an insurrection.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Trump had sued the state of Michigan in connection with its operations for determining candidate eligibility. Similar cases seeking to determine if Trump should be blocked from ballots have popped up in Colorado and other jurisdictions.

Now, Trump is saying the legal maneuvering is "illegal."

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

"They Are Trying to ILLEGALLY Remove My Name From Your Ballot," Trump wrote in a caption to a video posted to Truth Social on Tuesday.

"A fake trial is currently taking place to try and illegally remove my name from the ballot," Trump says in the video.

"I often say that 2024 is the most important election in American history," he continues, saying this might be "the last election we ever have" if he loses.

"Our country will not survive," he says. "If Crooked Joe and the Democrats get away with removing my name from the ballot, then there will never be a free election in America again."

    Trump goes on to say:

"We will have become a dictatorship where your president is chosen for you."

The goal should be to prosecute Trump for his attempted overthrow of our Gov. Efforts to keep him ballots is unnecessary. Only another Trump defeat can only help this country in the long run.

I think Trump will be prosecuted. And admit this is a mess that carries the risk of the Supreme Court protecting Trump. And one of the prob;es is anyone in any state can bring a 14th amendment challenge. Citizens can try to keep Trump off the ballot. And citizens can also sue to have Trump on the ballot. And then if has to go to the Supreme Curt.

Trump witness grilled at Colorado hearing: 'Is this proceeding part of the deep state?'

Former Trump Administration official and right-wing activist Kash Patel was grilled in Colorado during the trial over whether Trump is ineligible for the state ballot under the 14th Amendment — and in particular was cornered about his writings about the supposed "Deep State" conspiracy against the former president.

"You wrote another book called Government Gangsters, is that right?" said the attorney. "And Government Gangsters is about your view that there's a cabal or Deep State out there that is trying to ruin our country."

"Not my view in the book, it's outlined further action," said Patel, who was there as a witness for Trump.

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

"And you wrote the book about the Deep State, right?" asked the attorney, to which he confirmed yes. "Is this proceeding part of the Deep State?"

"No, it's a law enforcement proceeding," said Patel.

"Am I part of the Deep State?" asked the attorney.

"I don't know, I don't really know you," he said.

"Is the judge part of the Deep State?" said the attorney.

"I take the judge to be beyond reproach," said Patel.

"Frankly, sir, you think that all liberals or liberal leadership are evil, right?" asked the attorney.

"That's, that's outrageous," said Patel. "I worked more in the Department of Justice for Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates than I ever did in the Republican administration ... I worked as a public defender for eight years executing due process. So if you wanna make that globalization, because the cameras are on, you can go right ahead."

During the course of the trial, Patel also admitted that Trump's PAC is paying him $15,000 a month.

The trial centers on whether the Insurrection Clause of the 14th Amendment prohibits Trump from appearing on the state ballot due to his having allegedly engaged in "insurrection" against the United States.

'We don't know': Trump's witness pressed under oath about 'who stole the election'

    David Edwards
    November 2, 2023 4:18PM ET

    Gage Skidmore.

Activist Amy Kremer testified in a Colorado court Thursday that supporters believe that the 2020 presidential election was "stolen" — though she had no idea who did it.

On the second day of Donald Trump's 14th Amendment disqualification trial, the defense called Kremer, who helped plan the Jan. 6 rally that would turn into an insurrection. Voters have sued to keep Trump off the ballot based on a Civil War-era clause in the U.S. Constitution that bars insurrectionists from holding public office.

At one point, a lawyer representing the voters asked Kremer why she had called the 2020 election a "coup."

"I was talking about metaphorically, they stole an election," Kremer insisted. "So metaphorically, they were taking out the sitting president."

"Who stole the election exactly?" the attorney pressed.

"We don't know who stole the election," Kremer admitted. "I mean, it happened in a number of states, and we don't know."

    "Shadowy figures?" the lawyer suggested.

"I can't speak to that," the witness replied. "We don't know."

Kremer was asked if she knew how the election was stolen.

"I mean, there were a number of things that happened with the election that were inconsistent," she opined. "Officials breaking laws. And it would be, you know, different states have different laws."

Some 1,100 days after former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, he promised during a recent podcast interview that evidence he won will be revealed soon.

Upon losing the election, Trump along with various allies and supporters have falsely claimed that the election was “stolen” and filed various lawsuit on the matter that were later dismissed by the courts.

During an interview with Buck Sexton and Clay Travis released on Wednesday, the Republican frontrunner claimed the proof he had enough votes to win the election will come out in “the next few months.”

Trump told Sexton and Travis how the initial results on election night in 2020 were favorable for him but as more ballots started being counted everything turned “really bad.”

“I felt I could go home and I would watch a fair election,” Trump told the hosts. “And I went home, and it looked really good, then around 10 o’clock in the evening all of sudden they started finding lots of ballots and things started changing. And then at 3:02 a.m., things happened that were really really bad.”

“We did great against him [Biden]. I believe we won by a tremendous amount. We have proof of it. We’re releasing the proof. And you’ll see that proof, it’ll come up a lot in the next few months,” Trump concluded.

Listen below for Trump’s comments on the election:

Trump currently faces two criminal indictments for his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is charging Trump along with a dozen of defendants in a racketeering case for working to subvert the results in Georgia. Meanwhile, Special Counsel Jack Smith is federally prosecuting Trump for his attempt to subvert the election in Georgia and several other states he lost.

And that is exactly what treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans want. They don't want the Constitution. And they don't want democracy because they lose elections. So they want an authoritarian dictator and fa fascist nation.

I never imagined they could hate the United States of America that much.

‘Positively Stalinist’: Legal expert warns ‘if Trump wins we lose the Republic’

A professor of law, former U.S. Attorney, and noted legal analyst is urging Democrats to "have a serious conversation with the American people about what Donald Trump intends to do if he wins again." Joyce Vance warns: "If Trump wins in 2024, we lose the Republic. That’s not drama, and that’s not overstatement. That’s what Trump is promising."

"The writing on the wall is clear," Vance continues. "But far too many people remain unaware of Trump’s 2025 plan, or they don’t take it seriously. People who love democracy need to make sure they do."

Vance points to this section of a recent Washington Post article on Trump's plan for a second White House term, which she says "sounds positively Stalinist":

“Trump and his allies have begun mapping out specific plans for using the federal government to punish critics and opponents should he win a second term, with the former president naming individuals he wants to investigate or prosecute and his associates drafting plans to potentially invoke the Insurrection Act on his first day in office to allow him to deploy the military against civil demonstrations.”

As others have also noted, and as Vance writes, the "most frightening thing about this, to my mind, is that it’s not new. People simply aren’t paying attention. In October of 2020, before the last election, Trump was already taking steps in this direction. Trump signed an executive order making a change in civil service rules that made it possible to fire employees in policy positions 'at will'—for no reason at all."

"The order undid the pesky civil service protections that made it impossible to fire FBI agents who were investigating him or government lawyers who insisted he play be the rules. It was a harbinger of what Trump’s plans for 2025 would look like," Vance adds.

She points out several new points in the Post's piece, including, "Have DOJ investigate former Trump administration officials and allies who have become critics of the former president," "Appoint a special prosecutor to 'go after' President Biden and his family, based on unsupported allegations of corruption that Trump’s allies in the House are already moving forward with," and "Draft an executive order to permit the military to be deployed in the United States pursuant to the Insurrection Act."

"It’s the stuff of banana republics," Vance writes. "It’s a menu for the end of democracy."

"Donald Trump plainly wants to end democracy. That’s not being alarmist," Vance says, "it’s just the truth."

There a couple of things here. Progressive/liberal/Democrats have been screaming their heads off about President Biden getting beaten up in the latest polls. And I think they miss the major factor for that right now which is the war between Israel and Hamas and Biden's apparent blind support for Israel slaughtering about 10,000 innocent civilian Palestinians including thousands of children. And its not as simple as that. President Biden has been showing unwavering support for Israel in public to present a united front. While behind the scenes doing everything he can to rein Israel in. Which is next to impossible when he's dealing with Bibi The Butcher. But they are managing to get some concessions.

But I think there is a valid criticism of President Biden trying to stay above the fray and not gong all out to attack Trump right now. And I can see why President Biden and his campaign might think that is the presidential thing to do in a normal campaign. But Trump is about as abnormal as it gets an incredible threat to our democracy and is trying to incite violence. So President Biden needs to recognize that threat, take off the gloves, and get out there and start kicking Trump's ass.

And I hope President Biden sees that and this might be a start. But he still needs to get a lot tougher and meaner.

‘Joe Biden Smoked Donald Trump!’ Biden Campaign Hits Back at Newest Trump Claim He Can Prove His Election Lies
    Tommy ChristopherNov 9th, 2023, 8:54 am

President Joe Biden’s campaign hit back at former President Donald Trump’s newest claim he can prove his election lies, pointing out “Joe Biden smoked Donald Trump by 7 million votes” in 2020.

During a podcast interview with Buck Sexton and Clay Travis this week, Trump recounted the rollercoaster ride of Election Night 2020, repeating debunked claims about the votes and promising he’d soon provide proof of the thing that did not happen according to the facts and his own government:

And I did a great job. And we got votes like nobody’s ever– No sitting president has ever gotten anywhere near that number of votes. And I felt I could go home and I would watch a fair election. And I went home and it looked really good.

And then around 10:00 in the evening, all of a sudden they started finding lots of ballots and start — things started changing. And then at 3:02 in the morning, things happened that were really, really bad.

So, you know, we did great against him. And I believe we won by a tremendous amount. And we have proof of it. And we’re releasing the proof and you’ll see the proof. It’ll come up a lot over the next period of a few months.

In a statement emailed to Mediaite Wednesday, Biden-Harris campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa reiterated Biden’s victory and slammed Trump for “lying” about it once again:

Joe Biden smoked Donald Trump by 7 million votes in 2020 and the former president continues to lie about it rather than admit he lost – like an adult. It would be sad, if it weren’t so dangerous. And earlier today, he again said he’d let the people who violently attacked police officers and tried to overturn the 2020 election out of prison if reelected. The dangerous and erratic ramblings of a loser who can’t admit defeat only underscore that Donald Trump is not fit to be president of the United States.

But the other thing is just Trump's claim that he has proof the election was stolen that he is going to release. First that was going to be "next week." Which didn't happen. So now its going to be the "next few months." But how can we tell Trump is just lying and bluffing about that?

Just look at the highlighted old lies he is telling here that he knew were lies even before the election. Steve Bannon is on tape several days before the election that the plan was they would use the "red mirage" when Republican votes tend to be counted first to claim Trump won the election. And then start screaming voter fraud when the rest of the votes that would favor Biden were counted.

Trump was also told by his campaign and the White House Counsel's office before the election and again on election night that there would be a "red mirage" that would show him ahead but he could not count on that let alone say he won until all the votes were counted.

But the plans for the attempted coup were already in place and Trump implemented it by going before the nation and declaring he had won when he had already been told it looked like he was going to lose.

All of that is very well documented and especially by the J6 committee. So if Trump is falling back on those old proven lies now its a very good indication he is lying about "new evidence."
