I might vote for Ron DeSantis. He would be the first Republican I ever vote for for president, and the third Republican I have ever voted for.

I agree with Trump on a few issues, but I dislike his character and his personality. I see DeSantis as Trump without the embarrassments. I like the way he busses illegal immigrants to neighborhoods where rich liberals live, and to sanctuary cities. I like the way he has prevented white school children in Florida from being told that they should feel guilty about high rates of black poverty and incarceration.

I need to know more about his economic and environmental stands. Those keep me voting Democrat, despite Democrat stands on the issues of crime, race, and immigration.

 

Tax cuts during an era of large deficits are fiscally irresponsible. Republicans used to be in favor of balanced budgets. Then they pretended that tax cuts balanced the budget. Because that is obviously not true they do not even pretend to be fiscally responsible.

 

Der fuhrer is still the undisputed leader of the GOP. Even if Der fuhrer was unable to run in 2024. Whoever is the GOP nominee. Will have to reassert his/her allegiance to Trump if they have any chance at securing the repuke base.

So far Nimrata has tried her best to distance herself from Trump. But that won't help her with the MAGA base. So Desantis seems the obvious choice. But Desantis is just a trumptard and not Der fuhrer. So we'll just have to wait and see just how enthusiastically the MAGA base supports Desantis if Trump doesn't run in 2024.

Watched the debate tonight. Notably, it wasn't the free for all circus debates have been since 2012. People pretty much behaved.
Ramaswamy came out punching, predictably going after SeSantis and Haley cause, leaders. DeSantis pretty much ignored him, Haley put him in a headlock and punched him out when he dared to try and bring family into the fight.

Overall, the consensus was that Haley and DeSantis were the winners, with Scott earning an honorable mention.

Ramaswamy stepped on his own ............ foot ...... and Christy was just taking up space.
