Democrats flipped this Pennsylvania county for first time in 100 years

Democrats gained control of one Pennsylvania county’s Board of Commissioners for the first time in 100 years following the concession of the incumbent Republican commissioner on Monday.

After a tight race for Dauphin County’s Board of Commissioners in Pennsylvania, the board’s incumbent vice chairman Chad Saylor announced on Monday he would concede to Democratic challenger Justin Douglas, congratulating his opponent in a statement online.

“The county commissioner election is close, but the outcome is now clear. I congratulate Justin Douglas on his victory and wish him all the best as he becomes the new Dauphin County Commissioner in January,” Saylor wrote in a statement posted to the county’s Facebook page.

Saylor called his time on the board the “most rewarding” experience of his career and said the remainder of his term will focus on adopting a county budget.

Unofficial election results as of Monday showed Douglas had just a 55-vote lead over Saylor, a difference of .05 percent of the total vote. Incumbent commissioners George Hartwick, a Democrat, and board chairman Mike Pries, a Republican, both won reelection to their seats, each garnering about 27 percent of the vote for the three-person vote.

Republicans have controlled Dauphin County’s board of commissioners since 1919, according to PennLive.com.

Saylor was appointed to the board in June 2021 to fill the term of former commissioner Jeff Haste. Prior to his time on the board, Saylor spent more than 30 years in government and political at the state and local levels, according to Dauphin County’s website.

Douglas on Monday referenced Saylor’s concession in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, where he reposted news of the concession and wrote, “Happy Monday.”

The Pennsylvania Capital-Star reported Douglas is a pastor living in Conwego Township with his wife and three children. He has reportedly worked with the unhoused population, LGBTQ individuals and those dealing with poverty and has pledged to focus on the county’s corrections system, mental health care services and workforce if elected, according to the Pennsylvania Capital-Star.

'She will never be your queen:' Lauren Boebert slammed for celebrating Dolly Parton

When a MAGA Republican took to social media on Thursday to give the iconic Dolly Parton a “yass queen,” social media slapped back with a resounding no.

“Dear Republicans,” Annabelle Higgins replied to U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), “Dolly Parton will never be your Queen.”

Boebert — who made national headlines earlier this year for noisy antics at ‘Beetlejuice’ the musical — shared her celebration after Parton’s NFL halftime performance “stole the show.”

Not only did the 77-year-old Parton nail classics such as “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” she also rocked a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume and donated $1 million to the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, CBS Sports reports.

But when Boebert tried to jump on the Parton-praising bandwagon, followers on X delivered a speedy and ruthless fact check.

One user replied to Boebert, who vocally opposed vaccine and mask mandates at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with video of Parton getting her shot.

Another called out Boebert — who has accused migrant parents of “self-separating” from their children — for her beliefs as they compared to those of Parton, whose Imagination Library charity sends free books to low-income, often immigrant, families across Illinois.

“Tell ya what,” wrote @ColoFightsBack. “Since you’re such a huge fan we’ll do whatever Dolly would want in regards to immigration. How’s that?”

Parton also came out publicly against Tennessee anti-trans legislation, arguing “we are all God’s children.” Boebert, meanwhile, pushed “Transportation Insanity” legislation to stop the TSA from implementing protocols to protect the “respect and dignity” of trans people.

“She's certainly everything you'll never be,” @ShawnElliottCO3 wrote. “She's kind, generous, compassionate, talented, beautiful, advocates for LGBTQ.”

While many of Boebert’s critics claimed Parton for the Democrats, the Washington Post notes the country singer has her own brand of “Dollitics.”

When Parton released her politician-pummeling “World on Fire” in May, she refused to specify which politicos she accused of greed and ignorance in her song.

“I just really think often that they worry more about their party than they do about the people,” Parton said. “None of them are working from the heart.”

Or, as Barbara Othmer put it, “She will never be your Queen.”

"It's a revenue problem": GOP panic over plummeting finances as donors grow frustrated with Trump

The Republican Party's finances are heightening concerns amid party members, advisors to Donald Trump and other operatives involved in the 2024 election effort, 10 people familiar with the matter told The Washington Post. The Republican National Committee revealed that, as of Oct. 30, it had $9.1 million in cash on hand, the lowest amount its recorded in any Federal Election Commission report since February 2015. At the same point in the 2016 and 2020 election cycles, the RNC had about $20 million and $61 million, respectively. In contrast, the Democratic National Committee reported having $17.7 million as of Oct. 30.

“It’s a revenue problem,” Tennessee RNC member Oscar Brock told the Post. “We’re going through the same efforts we always go through to raise money: the same donor meetings, retreats, digital advertising, direct mail. But the return is much lower this year. If you know the answer, I’d love to know it. The staff has managed to tighten down on expenses to keep the party from going into the red.” RNC donor support has dwindled in recent years while the party's small-dollar program has also taken a hit, sources told the outlet. Some donors aren't giving money to the RNC because they believe doing so will aid Trump, the sources added, while others said they prefer to wait until 2024 to make a donation. Some have also grown frustrated by party leadership, sources close to major donors said.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel told the Post that donors are more focused on supporting individual candidates during the primary and predicted that the party's finances will improve once there's a nominee. “There’s nothing unusual about this, because they know that once their candidate gets in that we will merge and that we’ll be working together to win the White House,” McDaniel said.

Lauren Boebert 'torched' for blaming Social Security backlog on 'delinquent' workers

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, best known outside her home state for 'Beetlejuice' audience antics, was “torched” Wednesday by a Social Security Administration official who lashed out when she accused his staff of laziness, new video shows.

Boebert tried to blame the agency's mounting backlog on “delinquent employees” who worked from home and a government office that failed to monitor their work, but as Democratic strategist Sawyer Hackett noted, the conversation didn't go according to plan.

“Lauren Boebert [gets] torched by a Social Security Administration official after she calls agency employees lazy,” Hackett wrote. “He uses her dumb question to highlight GOP slashing the Social Security budget.”

As the video shows, Boebert and Oren McKnelly exchanged testy words over a Social Security application backlog that the Colorado Republican says has mounted to 107,000.

ALSO READ: Revealed: How South Carolina’s capital city accommodated Trump ‘patriots’

“We’ve been historically underfunded for a number of years now,” McKnelly tells Boebert.

“I don’t think you’re underfunded,” snaps Boebert. “You’re funded at the Nancy Pelosi levels, at the Democrat levels, we just continued that same funding.”

The problem, says McKnelly, is that while funding has remained level, beneficiaries increased by 8 million over the past decade and staffing levels have dropped.

“That’s a math problem,” McKnelly told the Republican lawmaker. “If you have those workloads increasing and you don’t have the staff to take care of those workloads, you’re going to have the backlogs you’re talking about.”

X viewers of the viral video, since seen more than 64,000 times, took umbrage with Boebert’s characterization of remote workers as “delinquents” and mocked her math skills.

"As soon as the Administrator said math, Lauren was lost," a user named Bob Trent wrote.

Another wrote, "He should have just responded 'Our employees work far more hours and days than our members of Congress.'"

Ah. And once again we see the governmental bureaucracy hungrily demanding MORE.

    Lets review, shall we?
The 2023 administrative budget for Social Security is $14 BILLION and they want almost another $2 BILLION for 2024. For the last decade the administrative budget for Social Security has hovered at around $12-$13 BILLION. There is a backlog of appeal hearings and of course there's always a "backlog" of applications (Shooter recalls when he filed in 2016 he got a call from Social Security in that same week, and his application was approved and his first check was received within 2 weeks).
What Social Security does is manage benefits in 3 programs that collectively represent about half of the Federal budget, or over $2.5 TRILLION.
Social Security administers benefits to about 70 MILLION people.

Now american haters article makes fun of Boebert's math skills, but lets see how this all works out. The average budget available to administer a social security benefit is about $220 a year. In Shooters and his wifes case that involves issuing 12 electronic deposits a year and maintaining a web site where we can review benefits, update information and so forth. In other words, pretty automatic once we had our applications approved. Of course, you have your problem children and difficult cases that take so much more time and effort, but the bottom line is, Social Security's current budget seems to be more than adequate.

Of course, burecrats are always looking for more. More money, more power, more authority, more control.

So the bottom line is, we don't have a crisis in Social Security and it seems Boebert was just doing her job pushing back on McKnelly when he was making his case for a 14% increase in the administrative budget. Course, neither wrong story or the american hater ever miss a chance to take cheap shots at deplorable politicians doing their job.

Especially when the politician is highlighting bureaucratic inefficiency which we all know despicables just adore and support at every turn.

Normally I don't like it when "Hollywood" gets involved in elections. Especially in the west where there is resentment towards the "Hollywood elites." But these are not normal times. This is a battle for our democracy itself. And in an election decided by about 500 votes fans could swing an election. And money always helps. Its like Taylor Swift. I don;t know how much impact Taylor Swift had when she told her 530 million followers to be sure and vote in the last electron. but it has to have some impact on especially the younger demographic. And if you listen to treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans they think Swift was responsible for their monumental defeats.

Hollywood heavyweights mobilize to kick Lauren Boebert out of Congress: report

Hollywood heavyweights are throwing their power behind an effort to oust Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert, Newsweek reported Monday.

According to the website's analysis, "More than a dozen actors, musicians and filmmakers" have donated to Democrat Adam Frisch's bid to take Boebert's seat in 2024.

"Among those donors are blockbuster star Ryan Reynolds, music legend Barbra Streisand, the Oscar-nominated director Rob Reiner, founding member of The Eagles Don Henley as well as singer and daughter of Johnny Cash, Roseanne Cash," Newsweek's report stated.

Frisch has reportedly smashed fundraising records with a haul of over $3.38 million in the third quarter, which is almost four times the amount that Boebert has raised.

In a recent post to X, Boebert accused Frisch of being funded by "Soros dark money and even Hollywood liberals like Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds."

"I need your help. Can I count on your support today for the critical November end-of-month deadline?" Boebert wrote.

Jeff Hurd, one of Boebert's Republican challengers, said Hollywood is donating to Frisch simply because he's running against Boebert.

"Every Republican should be disappointed and worried with all the out-of-state liberal money flooding into the district," Hurd's campaign told Newsweek.

"Unfortunately, our current representative is directly responsible for the liberals of California and New York to come in and buy the Colorado 3rd. It is because of her divisive rhetoric, distracting public antics, and lack of attention to the district we are even in this position."

THE DEFICIT THE DEBT!!!! THE DEFICIT THE DEBT!!!!!

Unless if its freebees for oil companies. Then fuck it let the taxpayers pick up the tab.

I worked in the oil and gas fields for more than 30 years. And I can tell you if you don't get your money out of them up front you probably won't get it at all. Because oil companies among other things snuffle ownership like dealers shuffle cards. And I actually worked on a drilling rig where I ended up calling the BLM myself to tell them they were not plugging their holes with cement before they abandoned them. The BLM showed up and tried to fine them. They didn't pay the fines. The BLM took them to court. They filed for bankruptcy. And the taxpayers ended up paying to have to come back in there and plug more than a dozen abandoned wells. Which was like two or three times as expensive because the government had to lease the rigs to do it. After the oil company and other drilling contractor pocketed the cash and took off.

Boebert plan to saddle taxpayers with bill for big oil cleanup advanced by GOP

Fossil fuel industry-funded Republicans on the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee voted Wednesday to advance Rep. Lauren Boebert's bill that would saddle taxpayers with the massive cost of cleaning up oil and gas wells on federal lands.

"Corporations awarded a lease to drill on federal land must post a bond. If the leasing corporation abandons an exploration site, goes bankrupt, or fails to plug a well securely, the posted bond covers the cost of doing so," Public Citizen explained this week in a statement opposing the proposal.

The Colorado Republican's Restoring American Energy Dominance Act (H.R. 6009) would block a proposed rule from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) revising federal regulations "to update the fees, rents, royalties, and bonding requirements related to oil and gas leasing, development, and production" in line with the Inflation Reduction Act signed by President Joe Biden last year.

"Rep. Boebert is plainly on the side of the oil and gas companies that don't want to be held accountable for exploiting hardworking taxpayers."

Based on a BLM review of the costs to plug orphaned wells, the rule—strongly opposed by polluting oil and gas companies—would raise the minimum lease bond amount to $150,000 and the minimum statewide bond to $500,000. It would also end the use of nationwide bonds.

"Without these crucial protections, the oil and gas industry could stick taxpayers with a massive bill of between $2.9 billion and $17.7 billion," Public Citizen's Alan Zibel added in a statement Wednesday. "The least we can do is ensure taxpayers don't get stuck subsidizing the fossil fuel industry's cost of doing business."

"Even as U.S. fossil fuel production soars to record levels," he said, "Republicans are doing the bidding of fossil fuel lobbyists by trying to block modest, sensible efforts to reduce blatant, long-standing giveaways in the system for leasing public lands for oil and gas production."

In the leadup to the vote, Accountable.US highlighted that the "Big Oil-backed, far-right extremists" on the Republican-led committee have taken at least $3.8 million in campaign contributions from the oil and gas industry during their political careers.

Rep. Garret Graves (R-La.) leads the pack with $850,945, followed by committee Chair Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) at $416,575, based on the group's analysis of OpenSecrets data. Boebert, who is only in her second term, ranks sixth, with $121,150.

"Rep. Boebert is plainly on the side of the oil and gas companies that don't want to be held accountable for exploiting hardworking taxpayers," Accountable.US spokesperson Chris Marshall said Wednesday. "The American public can't afford to suffer from this broken, polluting system any longer."

Thanks to the panel's party-line vote, H.R. 6009 now moves to the House floor. It faces far better odds of passing the GOP-controlled lower chamber than the divided Senate—but even if the bill got through Congress, Biden could veto it.

While Biden—who is seeking reelection next year—campaigned on being a "climate president," he has come under fire from campaigners and frontline communities for continuing fossil fuel lease sales for public lands and waters, greenlighting the Willow oil project and Mountain Valley Pipeline, and blowing off COP28, the ongoing United Nations climate summit taking place in Dubai.

Lauren Boebert used campaign funds for tickets to 'Beetlejuice' fling's bike race: report

Colorado constituents reportedly paid for their GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert to cheer on in-person her fling as he competed in a prestigious cross-country mountain bike race.

Federal Election Commission records suggest Boebert dipped into campaign coffers to cover the $339.94 price tag for "event tickets" to be there for Aspen bar owner Quinn Gallagher, 46, to perform at the Leadville Trail 100 MTB back on August 12, according to an exclusive report in The Daily Mail.

The race occurred prior to the revelation of their romance going public.

ALSO READ: Why Donald Trump should absolutely fear the 14th Amendment

That happened a month later when he served as the 36-year-old grandmother's date and was ejected with her after being captured on surveillance footage vaping, canoodling, and singing along in the orchestra section of a Denver theatre to take in the Broadway show "Beetlejuice."

Boebert tried to apologize a day later.

“Whether it was the excitement of seeing a much-anticipated production or the natural anxiety of being in a new environment, I genuinely did not recall vaping that evening when I discussed the night's events with my campaign team while confirming my enthusiasm for the musical,” Boebert said in a statement. “It’s clear now that was not accurate.”

When The Mail attempted to reach Boebert's office they apparently were unresponsive.

Boebert watched Gallagher place 774th out of 1,788 cyclists competing in what is dubbed the "most prestigious endurance cross-country MTB events in the world."

The theatre incident took place while Boebert was divorcing her 42-year-old husband of 18 years, Jayson Boebert.

The couple are raising four children.

Gallagher is the owner of the Hooch Craft Cocktail Bar tucked in Aspen.

The Mail also found that Boebert spent $137.71 of campaign funds on an Uber, and noted it amounts to the approximate cost of a fare between Hooch and the Boebert's Silt, Colorado home

DNC announces 'record' fundraising haul as GOP flounders

Congressman Hakeem Jeffries's election as Democratic leader in the House represents a generational shift for the party(AFP)

The Democratic National Committee is flush with cash as the party gears up for what may be one of the most high-stakes presidential elections in U.S. history.

On Thursday, DNC chairman Jaime Harrison tweeted that, when accounting for contributions from joint fundraising committees and affiliated PACs as well as direct donations, Democrats raked in $12.3 million as of December.

"That brings the DNC’s cash on hand to $20 million, according to aides — which, they tell us, breaks the party’s cash-on-hand record heading into a presidential election year," Harrison posted to X (formerly Twitter).

Harrison contrasted his party's good financial fortune with the chaotic finances of the Republican National Committee. In a subsequent tweet, Harrison linked to a Newsweek article, which reported that the RNC's $9.96 million cash on hand was the lowest amount of money the GOP had available to spend since the 2016 election. This trend has reportedly been ongoing, with the DNC outperforming its counterpart in the cash on hand metric by a two-to-one margin in the last two consecutive reporting periods.

One Republican told Newsweek that the party had been "demoralized" since the onset of the Trump presidency, with donors likely not enthusiastic about writing checks to the party that has seen significant losses in each federal election cycle. In the 2018 midterms, Democrats captured a whopping 41 seats and regained control of the House of Representatives. Republicans went on to lose the White House in 2020, and lost ground in the US Senate in 2022. Even though the GOP won back the House with a razor-thin majority in 2022, it has so far failed to effectively wield power amid relentless infighting among the House Republican Conference.

"The RNC's electoral record since 2017 speaks for itself," RNC member Patti Lyman told the Washington Post.

RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, who has led the party since 2017, has been facing increasing pressure to resign from Trump allies, particularly in the wake of the GOP's multiple failures in the most recent round of state elections. Under McDaniel's tenure, Republicans this year failed to retake the governor's mansion in the GOP stronghold of Kentucky, lost control of the Virginia legislature and failed to stop a pro-abortion rights ballot initiative in Ohio, which has a Republican trifecta government.

Rachel Maddow was the first one I saw reporting on this clear back after the 2012 election. She did a break down of voting results in states all across the country. And in state after state Democrats actually had millions of more votes than Republicans And yet Democrats were not gaining seats in Congress or state legislatures. And the reason was because of the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican extreme gerrymandering in redistricting after the 2010 census. And it not only gave the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans an extreme advantage Maddow did not have and answer for how to counter it because the Supreme Court had already OKed it.

The best answer was it would take 10 years to try and correct it but by the time the 2020 census rolled around Democrats being Democrats they were hardly better prepared in 2020 than they were on 2010 to win state legislatures and governors and so the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans got to gerrymander even more.

But then by the time the 2022 mid terms started rolling around the Democrats finally caught a couple breaks. Treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican gerrymandering has actually reached critical mass. They could not gerrymander enough anymore to give them much more of ans advantage. And the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade which turned out millions more Democratic voters and turned the Red Tsunami into a limp dick piss stream and helped flip state houses.

And now the Democrats have gained even more. The Supreme Court has rather shockingly upheld at least portions of the voting rights act. And the consequences of elections in some Red States have started to pay off.

This is an example of that. Wisconsin is the all time champ of treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans gerrymandering. Fittingly perhaps some of their districts literally look like Swiss Cheese. And with a conservative majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court for decades they could just rubber stamp whatever the Republicans wanted. But not anymore.

Wisconsin Supreme Court, now under liberal control, overturns Republican-favored legislative maps

The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the state’s legislative maps, which give Republicans the advantage, are unconstitutional and ordered new lines drawn for the 2024 election.

The 4-3 decision overturning the current maps in a key battleground state carries major implications for the 2024 election and comes after liberals won control of the court this spring.

The Wisconsin case is among a slew of redistricting fights across the country that could determine control of governing bodies from local governing boards to state legislatures and the US House of Representatives.

Under the current Wisconsin maps, Republicans enjoy a supermajority in the state Senate and a strong majority in the state Assembly, despite the Badger State being relatively evenly divided politically.

In its ruling Friday, the Wisconsin Supreme Court said that the state constitution requires districts be composed of “contiguous territory.”

“At least 50 of 99 assembly districts and at least 20 of 33 senate districts violate this mandate, rendering them unconstitutional. We therefore enjoin the Wisconsin Elections Commission from using the current maps in all future elections, as such, remedial 51 maps must be adopted prior to the 2024 elections,” the court wrote.

The court said that all parties “will be given the opportunity to submit remedial legislative district maps to the court, along with expert evidence and an explanation of how their maps comport with the principles laid out in this opinion.” It will appoint a consultant or consultants to help evaluate the remedial maps, and parties could respond to each other and the consultant’s report.

“We set out this process in order to afford all parties a chance to be heard, while bearing in mind the need for expediency given that next year’s elections are fast approaching,” the court wrote. “We begin our process now instead of waiting to see whether the legislative process results in new maps.”

The state high court also said it was prepared to step in should legislators not take action.

“We are hopeful that the legislative process will produce new legislative district maps,” the ruling stated. “However, should that fail to happen, this court is prepared to adopt remedial maps based on the criteria, process, and dates set forth in this opinion and the concurrent order.”

Attorney Sam Hirsch, who argued on behalf of the petitioners, said that his team looks “forward to working through the remedial process to ensure that Wisconsinites can have fair representation in the State Legislature for the first time in more than a decade.”

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, welcomed Friday’s ruling, saying in a statement that he was “as optimistic as ever that, at long last, the gerrymandered maps Wisconsinites have endured for years might soon be history.”

“Wisconsin is a purple state, and I look forward to submitting maps to the Court to consider and review that reflect and represent the makeup of our state,” Evers said.

In her dissent, conservative Justice Annette Ziegler wrote: “This deal was sealed on election night. Four justices remap Wisconsin even though this constitutional responsibility is to occur every ten years, after a census, by the other two branches of government.”

The legislative boundaries were a focus of this spring’s race for the pivotal state Supreme Court seat. During the campaign, now-Justice Janet Protasiewicz, the liberal-favored candidate, called the legislative maps “rigged” and “unfair” and suggested courts should evaluate their constitutionality.

After she was seated in August, Democratic-backed groups filed two lawsuits asking the Wisconsin Supreme Court to throw out the Republican-drawn maps.

State legislative Republicans responded by asking Protasiewicz to recuse herself from the cases, arguing she had prejudged them. State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos also floated the possibility of impeaching Protasiewicz if she did not recuse herself.

Vos reacted to Friday’s ruling by saying that the case “was pre-decided before it was even brought.”

“Sad day for Wisconsin when the state supreme court just said last year that the existing lines are constitutional,” he wrote on X. “Fortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court will have the last word.”

Lauren Boebert's Dem rival raises 'jaw-dropping' campaign cash: reports

In the wake of Rep. Lauren Boebert's (R-CO) vape-and-grope scandal at the “Beetlejuice” musical, the Democrat candidate coming for her congressional Colorado seat has raked in a “jaw-dropping” amount of campaign cash, according to new reports.

Adam Frisch, a former Aspen City Council member, has raised more than $7.7 million to run against Boebert in the race for Colorado’s 3rd district, according to Business Insider and Time. Frisch doesn’t expect the cash tap to turn off soon, he told Time.

“I’m confident we're going to report very strong fundraising numbers yet again,” Frisch reportedly said.

Boebert — a MAGA firebrand who struggled to win the historically conservative seat in 2020 — has seen a rocky term in office that Business Insider reports is reflected in her own campaign coffers.

Boebert raised just $2.4 million this cycle and only $854,000 between July and September, a quarter that saw Frisch bring in $3.4 million, according to the Business Insider report.

Time writer Mini Racker notes Boebert faced a serious setback in September when news leaked of Boebert’s ejection from a Denver theater after she vaped and caused a ruckus during the musical production.

“Boebert, for her part, has been trying to move past both her Beetlejuice scandal and her image as a controversial ultra-MAGA lawmaker,” write Racker. “For much of the past year, she has attempted to buckle down and show how she is working to address the practical concerns of her constituents.”

But the MAGA Republican also faces a challenger from her own party; Jeff Hurd, who has already pulled in $412,000 in about 4 months and earned key endorsements from high ranking Colorado Republicans, Business Insider reports.

Hurd’s spokesperson told Time that Boebert’s “poor personal conduct” and “profound underperformance” have put the race for her seat in the spotlight.

And that spotlight will only shine brighter as Colorado grapples with the legal battle over its presidential ballot and whether the U.S. Constitution blocks the inclusion of former President Donald Trump's name.

“Boebert will likely reenter the fray as a staunch MAGA loyalist,” writes Business Insider analyst Jake Swearingen. “And her opponent will have millions of dollars to capitalize on any mistakes she makes along the way.”

I wonder if this is going to work. Its true Boebert is trying to run in a more Republican friendly district but it is also a more sophisticated district and Boebert is just dumb as a box of rocks, doesn't really care about anything but herself, and might be seen as a carpetbagger trying to horn in just to try and save her own job after wearing out her welcome in her home district. I didn't much care for Ken Busk but he was at least considered a true conservative and pragmatic. Neither of which Boebert can lay claim to. And I cannot believe there are not lots of other Republicans who want to run in a strongly Republican district. And I would think if there are Boebert has enough baggage in her carpet bag for someone with longstanding ties to the district to knock her out.

And she's already made her first big misstep. I think the residents of district 4 would expect her to at lest do her homework and she obviously has not.

Boebert hit by hometown newspaper for interview bereft of local knowledge

Lauren Boebert's decision to abandon her Colorado district was driven by her divorce — and not the threat a well-funded Democratic opponent was posing her, the congresswoman said Thursday.

"The fresh start is really in regards to my personal life," she said. "There's definitely been some changes."

Boebert's comments were made in an interview with Colorado newspaper The Durango Herald that was published Friday.

In it, she was hit for apparently knowing little about the 4th Congressional district that she now hopes to represent after she announced she was moving out of the 3rd, where she is now.

"In a chipper interview Thursday with The Durango Herald, the congresswoman said she will continue to 'be a loud advocate' for her signature causes, which include fiscal responsibility, limited government, immigration policy and 'our God-Given rights,'" the reporter Reuben M. Schafir, wrote.

"A week after launching a District 4 campaign, her pitch is rooted less in her new stumping grounds and more in conservative issues of state or national interest," he went on.

"But mostly, Boebert’s pitch to District 4 voters parrots boilerplate conservative talking points: “Hardworking Coloradans who are affected by inflation, by the Biden Administration, they are affected by the reckless spending in Washington D.C., the interest rates are affecting them and this is something they feel where it matters most – their pocketbooks.”

ALSO READ: Stiffed: How Trump's campaign visits cost local police departments

He continued, "The congresswoman struggled to offer detailed differentiation between the two districts; representing a district with a large urban area, referring to Douglas County, was the only major distinction between districts 3 and 4 she offered."

“My job is on-the-job training,” she told the interviewer. "I am protecting my voters."

Boebert won district 3 by just 546 votes and was facing an extremely tough fight in 2024, worsened by her damaged reputation in the area after her Beetlejuice scandal in which a security camera caught her groping her date and vaping in the theater over the objections of fellow patrons.

District 4 is considered a much safer conservative seat.

Boebert under investigation after police called over restaurant fight with her ex: report

An aide for Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has confirmed their boss is under investigation by police after her former husband called the cops and accused her of "domestic violence" following a physical altercation at a local restaurant on the anniversary of the Jan. 6 insurrection.

The report from the Daily Beast's Roger Sollenberbger states the fight took place at the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt, Colorado after the two agreed to meet in a public place after an earlier confrontation when GOP lawmaker went to pick up one of their sons.

At the earlier meet-up, Jayson Boebert reportedly moved "aggressively" toward his ex-wife and she took exception and pushed him away. Calling her later, he reportedly said he wanted to apologize and that was where things escalated.

According to Boebert's spokesperson, Jayson Boebert was “being disrespectful,” “being an assh*le,” and being “lewd," which led to it getting physical.

"As Lauren Boebert described it, the aide said, she tried again to keep him back and in the process 'put her hand in his face, put her hand on his nose,'" Sollenberger reported before adding, "Jayson Boebert, apparently outraged, called the police, claiming that he was 'a victim of domestic violence,' the Boebert aide said. Lauren Boebert then called the non-emergency number and told the police there was no domestic violence, and that she’d be happy to speak with an officer at the restaurant."

The report adds police did show up, no one was arrested but confirmed to the Beast that it remains an "active investigation."

Harris County Judge Frank Aguilar arrested in Galveston for allegedly punching woman, stepping on her neck – Houston Public Media

Harris County Judge Frank Aguilar arrested in Galveston for allegedly punching woman, stepping on her neck

The 66-year-old Aguilar, a Democrat first elected to the bench in 2018, was arrested early Dec. 31 after an alcohol-fueled altercation at his Galveston residence. Other judges are handling his docket in Harris County this week.

    ADAM ZUVANICH | POSTED ONJANUARY 3, 2024, 2:51 PM

A state district court judge in Houston was arrested over the weekend and could be charged with misdemeanor assault after allegedly punching a woman in the face and stepping on her neck during an alcohol-fueled altercation at his Galveston residence.

Judge Frank Aguilar, who since 2019 has presided over the 228th Criminal Court in Harris County, was arrested under the suspicion of "assault causes bodily injury family violence," according to a redacted copy of a probable cause affidavit written by the arresting officer for the Galveston Police Department. The woman the 66-year-old Aguilar is accused of assaulting early Dec. 31 was seen with a small amount of blood leaking from her left nostril, two red marks on the right side of her neck and a welt on the back of her head, states the affidavit, which was provided to Houston Public Media by the Galveston County District Attorney's Office, which on Wednesday was still reviewing the charges.

Aguilar and the woman were at Aguilar's home in the 9600 block of Teichman Road and having drinks with a group of people who were renting a room downstairs when the woman got into a verbal altercation with one of the renters, prompting Aguilar to become angry with her, according to the affidavit. Once Aguilar and the woman got upstairs, Aguilar allegedly punched the woman "in the face and head multiple times" with a closed fist, the affidavit states.

"(The woman) stated at this time she fell to the ground to which Aguilar then placed his foot on (the woman's) neck and chest area and continued to yell at her that she could not be fighting other people," the affidavit continues. "(The woman) advised Agular held his foot down on her neck for a minute, to which she lost her breath during this time. (The woman) stated once she was able to let the words ‘I can't breathe' Aguilar then took his foot off ... and walked away."

Aguilar, a Democrat first elected in 2018 and reelected in 2022, could not be reached for comment. It was unclear Wednesday whether he had hired a defense attorney.

Aguilar's bond was set at $1,500, the probable cause affidavit states. He was released from jail later Dec. 31, according to the Galveston County Jail.

Aguilar independently chose to have other district court judges and associate judges handle his docket this week in Harris County, said Amanda Cain, a spokesperson for the Administrative Office of the District Courts. She said only the State Commission on Judicial Conduct can take action that would affect Aguilar's ability to preside while the assault case is pending.

Jacqueline Habersham, the executive director of the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, said Wednesday she could not comment on Aguilar's arrest or confirm whether the commission is investigating the allegations against him.

"Generally speaking, the commission's governing authorities authorizes it to act quickly to suspend a judge but only in certain situations," Habersham said. "The circumstances of any case are evaluated by the commission when an indictment is handed up or when charges are filed for misdemeanor offenses involving official misconduct or crimes involving moral turpitude. An arrest alone generally does not trigger the necessity for the commission to consider suspension."

Aguilar told a Galveston police officer who responded to the scene that the woman at his home was "highly intoxicated and began throwing beer cans around the house and throwing beer cans" at him, according to the probable cause affidavit, which states that Aguilar then stopped answering officers' questions and said he no longer wanted to discuss the incident. When asked how the woman was injured, Aguilar said, "I don't know," according to the affidavit.

In 2010, Aguilar was charged with misdemeanor assault in Harris County for allegedly striking a woman he was dating with his hand, according to county court documents. He was found not guilty by a jury later that year, court records show.

The desperation over Boebert crashing and burning isn't just s palpable. It's literally just laughable. More like a school boy coming to the defense of his crush.

But punching our her ex sure isn't going to help. And seriously as I have pointed out before Boebert is just dumb as a box of rocks. How stupid and ignorant (two different things) can you be to get played by your ex? He's an asshole with nothing to lose. Boebert is a member of Congress with the spotlight always on her. So she let's him bait her into a confrontation. And he calls the cops knowing it will make great headlines. If he's good at triggering her what was Boebert doing in the same room with him? Send someone else to pick up the kids.

According to a deep dive into Rep. Lauren Boebert's fall from grace with voters in her predominantly conservative district, former supporters and GOP leaders in Colorado admit they have grown tired of being associated with her.

The twice-elected Republican House member surprised Republicans in her state by abruptly announcing she won't defend her seat in the 3rd District and will hopscotch to the neighboring, and more conservative, 4th District.

As Politico's Ryan Biller reported, desperate times call for desperate measures and a "desperate" Boebert had no choice if she wants to return to Washington, D.C., for a third term that, if nothing else, guarantees her a government pension.

In an interview with Politico, hardcore conservative Boebert constituent Maisy Reid, 57, expressed her distaste for the House representative by stating, "It seemed she was out of touch.”

RELATED: 'Damaged goods': Lauren Boebert loses support to GOP challenger over 'Beetlejuice' groping

"Boebert nearly lost her seat in 2022 because of a legion of alienated voters like Maisy Reid," Biller wrote. "And despite running in a district that voted for Donald Trump by an eight-point margin in 2020, her fortunes next year were looking even worse. She trailed in the polls, was being carpet-bombed by millions of dollars’ worth of Democratic attack ads and wasn’t even guaranteed to make it out of the Republican primary."

With the Politico report calling Boebert's district hopping a "desperate act by a desperate candidate.

“We gave the world Lauren Boebert and [disgraced election official] Tina Peters,” Grand View Mayor Anna Stout, a Democrat, explained. "We’re not proud of it. And although I don’t speak of this diverse district monolithically, there is an acute sense of being fed up here. We don’t want to be a national laughingstock.”

Illustrative of Boebert's collapse among her former supporters are election signs suddenly disappearing from view.

"For much of the past two years, if you were driving west on I-70 approaching Grand Junction, you could see similar sentiments on display at the Grand Junction Motor Speedway, a world-class, go-cart racetrack located on the outskirts of town. A long chain link fence that separates the road from the track was covered in upwards of 50 Lauren Boebert campaign signs, making it one of the first sights to greet visitors to the city, other than iconic Mount Garfield," Biller wrote before adding, "In October, however, all those signs disappeared. The owner didn’t return calls asking why."

‘I Didn’t Punch Jayson in the Face’: Boebert Denies Socking Ex-Husband as Police Continue Investigation

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) denied she punched her ex-husband in the kisser as police in Colorado are probing an altercation of sorts that happened over the weekend.

The Daily Beast reported that on Saturday, her ex-husband Jayson Boebert called police to Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt, Colorado. He alleged he had been a “victim of domestic violence” in an incident initially flagged by an anti-Lauren Boebert super PAC on X/Twitter. When reached for comment, Jayson Boebert told The Daily Beast his ex-wife punched him multiple times.

    Lauren Boebert denied the charge.

“This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I’m moving,” she said in a statement. “I didn’t punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options.”

Meanwhile, Jayson Boebert said that he planned to ask police to call off their investigation.

“I don’t want nothing to happen,” he told the Denver Post. “Her and I were working through a difficult conversation.”

Boebert has had a tumultuous go of it recently. Last month, she announced that she will not seek reelection in Colorado’s 3rd congressional district, instead choosing to run in Colorado’s more conservative 4th. In September, she was escorted out of a theater for vaping during a production of Beetlejuice the musical, during which she and her date groped one another. As she exited the premises, she gave security the middle finger. In 2022, she closed her restaurant after the lease was not renewed.
