House GOP 'eroded their credibility' by lobbing easily debunked Biden claims: analysis

Republicans have spent the past year throwing multiple accusations at President Joe Biden and his family -- but still haven't come up with any proof of wrongdoing that could justify impeaching him.

Washington Post columnist Philip Bump penned a piece explaining that House Oversight Committee chair, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) came into Congress a year ago promising that he would use his power to uncover if Biden was being bribed by China, Russia and Ukraine. He pledged to find "a legislative fix" to address influence-peddling in Congress.

With the assistance of Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) in the Judiciary Committee, the Republicans have gone month by month over-promising only to under-deliver, argued Bump, who then walked through each month for the last year to outline just how little Republicans have to show in their efforts to find "dirt" on Biden.

In March, for instance, Bump noted that the House Republicans released some information about the monetary interactions between Hunter and James Biden and their business partners.

However, they also released bank memos showing President Joe Biden never got any cash out of their business dealings, and many fact-checkers declared the GOP's claims of impropriety as overstated or outright false.

Comer called a press conference in May where he announced evidence Hunter and James Biden sold consulting and legal services to people including some outside of the United States. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) claimed that it was proof of an "alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions."

Grassley later acknowledged, however, that claims of the scheme may have been false.

Shortly after this, the Republicans boasted that they had an "informant" who claimed Joe and Hunter Biden were paid off $5 million, although Comer raised some eyebrows shortly afterward when he told Fox Business's Maria Bartiromo that the informant had gone missing.

Later, Comer's staff told Fox News that the missing informant was a whistleblower named Gal Luft, who would soon be indicted for trafficking weapons and cash to both Iran and the Chinese government.

"In July," writes Bump, "the Justice Department unsealed an indictment targeting Luft, the director of a D.C.-area think tank. Given that Luft had offered to provide information about his interactions with Biden, the indictment was cited by House Republicans, including Oversight’s Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) as evidence of an attempt by the government to silence a potential anti-Biden witness."

While he continues on for the rest of the more recent months of 2023, Bump notes that over and over, Republicans sound the alarm about some piece of starling evidence that will end Biden's presidency, only for it to turn out to be nothing. At the close of the year, Comer desperately tried to claim that because Hunter Biden was working with foreign entities for money and he paid his father back for a small loan for his truck, it meant Biden was getting money from China or Ukraine or other foreign countries.

Throughout the ordeal, Bump explains that Comer appeared on Fox News hundreds of times and used his appearances as fundraising pleas to score campaign cash from conservative viewers.

House GOP probing if Biden was involved in Hunter's 'scheme' to defy subpoena, potential 'impeachable offense'
The White House said President Biden was ‘certainly familiar with what his son was going to say' when he defied his subpoena
    December 27, 2023

House Republicans are investigating whether President Biden was involved in his son Hunter Biden’s "scheme" to defy his subpoena for deposition earlier this month — conduct, they say, "could constitute an impeachable offense."

The House Oversight Committee, House Judiciary Committee and House Ways & Means Committee are investigating "whether sufficient grounds exist to draft articles of impeachment against President Biden for consideration by the full House." The House formalized the inquiry earlier this month.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, on Wednesday penned a letter, obtained by Fox News Digital, to White House Counsel Edward Siskel, notifying him of the additional area of their investigation.

"In light of an official statement from the White House that President Biden was aware in advance that his son, Hunter Biden, would knowingly defy two congressional subpoenas, we are compelled to examine as part of our impeachment inquiry whether the President engaged in a conspiracy to obstruct a proceeding of Congress," Comer and Jordan wrote to Siskel.

The subpoenas were both for Hunter Biden's deposition — one from Comer and one from Jordan. The two chairmen planned to hold the deposition in the same room, at the same time.

The president’s son was subpoenaed to appear for a deposition before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees earlier this month. Hunter Biden defied that subpoena, and instead, appeared on Capitol Hill and delivered a public statement before the press.

"On December 13, Mr. Biden did not appear for the deposition as required by the Committees’ subpoenas. Instead, Mr. Biden appeared on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol with his attorney and Representative Eric Swalwell," they wrote. "Mr. Biden gave a lengthy public statement to an assembly of reporters in which he made several statements that are relevant to the House’s impeachment inquiry, including representations about his business activities, assertions about President Biden’s awareness and ‘financial’ involvement in these activities, and attacks on the Committees’ inquiry."

Hunter Biden "indicated that he would only testify in a public forum, a demand for special treatment that the Committees had previously rejected."

"Although Mr. Biden professed an interest in answering questions about his actions, he departed the Capitol grounds without taking any questions. The committees subsequently recorded Mr. Biden’s non-appearance at his deposition," they wrote.

But later that day, Comer and Jordan pointed to a statement made by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. She was asked whether the president had watched his son’s public statement.

"White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that President Biden was ‘certainly familiar with what his son was going to say,’" they wrote. "Ms. Jean-Pierre declined, however, to provide any further details about the President’s actions on whether the President approved of his son defying congressional subpoenas."

They added, though, that Jean-Pierre’s statement "suggests the President had some amount of advanced knowledge that Mr. Biden would choose to defy two congressional subpoenas."

The chairmen pointed to the criminal code, citing the section which states that it is unlawful to "corruptly…endeavor to influence, obstruct, or impede the due and proper exercise of the power of inquiry under which any investigation or inquiry is being had by…any committee of either House or any joint committee of Congress."

"Likewise, any person who ‘aids, abets, counsels, commands, induces or procures’ the commission of a crime is punishable as a principal of the crime," they wrote.

"In light of Ms. Jean-Pierre’s statement, we are compelled to examine the involvement of the President in his son’s scheme to defy the Committees’ subpoenas," they wrote. "The Committees have accumulated substantial evidence that Hunter Biden’s business endeavors have improperly included his father, and the President has made false claims about his knowledge and involvement in these schemes."

Comer and Jordan also said that just days before Hunter Biden was scheduled to appear for his deposition, the president "claimed he had not interacted with any of his son’s business partners."

"This is false," they wrote. "The President has met with, spoken to, and received money sourced from his son’s foreign business partners."

Comer and Jordan said that in light of the evidence they have collected, "the fact that the President had advanced awareness" that his son would defy the subpoenas "raises a troubling new question that we must examine: whether the President corruptly sought to influence or obstruct the Committee’s proceeding by preventing, discouraging, or dissuading his son from complying with the Committee’s subpoenas."

"Such conduct could constitute an impeachable offense," they wrote.

The chairmen demanded all documents and communications sent or received by the White House regarding Hunter Biden’s deposition, including communications with Hunter Biden, law firm Winston & Strawn LLP, and Kevin Morris.

They also demanded all documents and communications sent or received by employees of the White House Executive Office regarding the president’s statement about his family’s business associates on Dec. 6.

Comer and Jordan gave Siskel until Jan. 10 to produce the information.

'It's getting old': Jim Jordan scolded by MAGA over 'boring' letter to White House

Conservatives blasted Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and James Comer (R-KY) on Wednesday after they used an ongoing impeachment inquiry to demand the White House hand over materials about Hunter Biden.

In a letter to White House Counsel Edward Siskel, Jordan and Comer suggested President Joe Biden sought to obstruct his son's deposition, which did not occur due to a dispute about the venue.

"The Committees specifically notified Mr. [Hunter] Biden, via his attorney, that his failure to appear for the deposition as required by the subpoenas would lead to the Committees initiating contempt of Congress proceedings," the letter states. "Mr. Biden indicated that he would not appear for the deposition as required by the subpoenas and that he would only testify in a public forum."

A spokesperson for the president, Karine Jean-Pierre, had said he was "familiar with what his son was going to say," the letter notes.

"Ms. Jean-Pierre's statement suggests that the President had some amount of advanced knowledge that Mr. Biden would choose to defy two congressional subpoenas," Jordan and Comer wrote.

ALSO READ: Jim Jordan and James Comer have a new judicial plan: Protect GOP megadonors at all costs

The letter demanded the White House Counsel produce "[a]ll documents and communications sent or received by employees of the Executive Office of the President regarding the deposition of Hunter Biden."

But apparently conservatives were not impressed by the letter.

"How many impeachable offenses do you guys need before you impeach him????" one MAGA supporter wrote on the social media platform X.

"Ohh another strong letter…. That'll show them," another quipped.

"Thank you for your long, boring letter! I'm sure this one will do the trick," Chad West complained.

"All talk and that's about it," Chris Pressley commented. "Go ahead and write all the letters you want. Post when YOU PEEPS actually accomplish something! It's getting old."

Central figure in Ukrainian scandal has a message the GOP doesn't want heard: report

Lev Parnas, who was a central figure in the 2019 Ukraine scandal that led to the impeachment of Donald Trump, is still telling his story — and is now revealing insights into "diplomatic impropriety" that he says is at the heart of current investigations targeting the Biden family.

It's a message Republicans are not eager to promote, The Palm Beach Post reports.

"The whole motive and the whole Biden stuff was never about getting justice, and getting to the bottom of Biden criminality or doing an investigation in Ukraine," Parnas said. "It was all about announcing an investigation and using that in the media to be able to destroy the Biden campaign and have Trump win."

Parnas, a henchman of Rudy Giuliani who was also connected to Trump, was a link between investigators and Ukranian figures attempting to dig up dirt on President Joe Biden's son, Hunter. He was convicted on several charges, including fraud and campaign finance violations.

Parnas was arrested along with fellow Giuliani associate Igor Fruman in 2019 and accused of setting up a shell company to funnel hundreds of thousands in Russian donations to Republican candidates. He was sentenced to a year and eight months in prison.

Parnas was also subpoenaed to give evidence in the impeachment hearing of Trump that involved the then-president's "perfect call" to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 25, 2019, in which Trump congratulated the new president on his campaign win — but suggested he owed a favor.

While Parnas' message might be ignored by the likes of House Oversight Committee chair Rep. James Comer, he's hoping the public will listen.

His upcoming book "Shadow Diplomacy" will be followed by a podcast titled "Lev Remembers," and he's also cooperating for a documentary — all endeavors he says are designed to get the truth out about that happened with Trump and Ukraine.

Also read: Mike Johnson is following Kevin McCarthy’s footsteps to failure: conservative

"It's all because of one individual that wanted to stay in power, that didn't want to relinquish power," he told The Palm Beach Post.

Parnas also wants to counter the image of himself as being a shady figure from South Florida.

"That was the depiction presented in much of the reporting about Parnas after he became a news headliner in the fall of 2019," The Post's report states. "That followed the disclosure and widespread reporting of a whistleblower complaint about another more famous phone call, this one the previous July in which Trump reportedly pressured Zelenskyy to open up an investigation of Biden."

He says he hopes the Trump base will heed his warnings as a former Trump ally.

"They don't want to realize who Trump really is, because if they realize it, they will feel that they lost," he said. "The only way we can get through that is to get past Donald Trump and the divisiveness and the craziness he brings with him."

Congress can issue subpoenas, but Jim Jordan had gotten tired of the committee staff giggling when he says "subpoena".

If absolute Presidential immunity turns out to be a thing, Trump will be in a world of hurt, since current Presidential immunity has to outrank former Presidential immunity.

Unless it goes by seniority, in bv which case it puts Bill Clinton at the top.

Majority of Voters Believe Joe Biden ‘Likely’ Involved in Family Business

    29 Dec 2023

A majority of voters believe President Joe Biden was “likely” involved “inappropriately” in his family’s business, a Thursday J.L. Partners poll found.

The survey found the following statistics about how likely voters believe it is that Biden was involved in his family’s business ventures:
    • Very likely: 38 percent
    • Quite likely: 20 percent
    • Don’t know: 8 percent
    • Quite unlikely: 11 percent
    • Very unlikely: 22 percent
Even one-third of Democrats believe it is very or quite likely Biden involved himself inappropriately in his family’s business.

Biden denies he spoke to his family members about their business and that Hunter Biden earned money from his ventures in China, though Hunter acknowledged the receipt of “China money” in court documents.

Previous polling shows Americans are skeptical of Joe Biden’s claims:

    • ABC News/Ipsos: A plurality of Americans are not confident about how the Justice Department handled its investigation into Hunter.
    • Yahoo/YouGov: A majority of voters believe Joe Biden committed a crime with Hunter.
    • TIPP: Sixty-three percent say Joe Biden violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) by assisting Hunter in the Burisma Holdings deal.
The polling comes after the House voted to formally open an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden to provide investigators the means to compel information the White House refuses to provide Congress. The Biden administration failed to provide investigators:

    • Information about two loan agreements Joe Biden allegedly executed with James Biden for a total of $240,000
    • 99.98 percent of requested records from President Joe Biden, including alias emails
    • Documents about an alleged $5 million bribe Joe Biden allegedly accepted
    • Materials related to Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents
House investigators initially announced they would investigate the Biden family in November 2022. They later revealed Joe Biden received money from James Biden and Hunter Biden. They also showed that nine additional Biden family members received payments from the family’s foreign business ventures, including two of Joe Biden’s grandchildren.

Trump businesses took in nearly $8 million from foreign governments: House Democrats
by Rebecca Beitsch - 01/04/24 10:07 AM ET

    Share

Former President Trump took in at least $7.8 million from foreign entities in 20 countries, according to a new report from Democrats on the House Oversight Committee, payments to his various businesses that critics say could violate a constitutional prohibition on accepting funding from foreign governments.

The volume of foreign payments during Trump’s presidency is detailed in one of the most exhaustive reviews of Trump’s business dealings with foreign governments while in office.

Democrats cautioned the total figure is likely larger, and they blasted GOP leadership they’ve accused of releasing Trump’s accounting firm Mazars from turning over requested documents just four months after a years-long legal battle forced it to comply with a congressional subpoena.

“Critically, even this subset of documents reveals a stunning web of millions of dollars in payments made by foreign governments and their agents directly to Trump-owned businesses, while President Trump was in the White House,” Democrats wrote in their report.

“By pocketing foreign states’ payments, President Trump repeatedly placed his personal financial interest and the interests of foreign wealth and power above the public interest, resulting in precisely the split loyalty between foreign power and the American people that the Framers sought to avoid.”

The latest in politics and policy. Direct to your inbox. Sign up for the Evening Report newsletter

The lion’s share of the foreign money — some $5.6 million — flowed from China, which, along with other countries, primarily patronized three properties: Trump hotels in Washington and Las Vegas and Trump Tower in New York.

Concerned the billionaire hotelier’s businesses would be a magnet for foreign spending, ethics experts have long sounded the alarm that Trump’s properties would be a route for violating the emoluments clause of the constitution, which prohibits the president and other government officials from receiving profit or gain because of their role.

The report comes as the GOP is seeking to highlight the extent relatives of President Biden, mainly his son Hunter Biden, conducted business with foreign governments, including China.

While Hunter Biden did conduct millions of dollars of business with Chinese companies and investors, the review of Trump’s business ledgers showed income from Chinese government sources like China’s Embassy in the U.S. and the Chinese state-affiliated Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).

ICBC spent $5.4 million over nearly three years for a lease at Trump Tower.

The report also covers Trump’s business with other Chinese companies that would not trigger emoluments clause violations but that have otherwise been under scrutiny.

The records show that CEFC, a private Chinese energy company that also did business with Hunter Biden, spent more than $5 million on an apartment in Trump World Tower through its subsidiary.

Oversight Republicans dismissed the report as part of an “obsession” with Trump.

“Former President Trump has legitimate businesses but the Bidens do not. The Bidens and their associates made over $24 million by cashing in on the Biden name in China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania. No goods or services were provided other than access to Joe Biden and the Biden network,” Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) said in a statement.

However, a Washington Post fact-check found that within that pool of foreign business dealings, just $7.5 million went to Biden family members, with roughly $7 million going directly to Hunter Biden.

The fact check also said many of those businesses were not shell companies, as Comer claimed, but were organized around legitimate business activities or investments.

Other countries that patronized Trump’s businesses include Saudi Arabia, with more than $615,000 spent at his properties, and Qatar, which spent more than $460,000.

When Trump was running for office in 2015, he boasted of his good relationship with the Saudis based on his business dealings.

“Saudi Arabia, I get along great with all of them. They buy apartments from me. They spend $40 million, $50 million,” he said at a campaign rally.

“Am I supposed to dislike them? I like them very much!”

The payments from the Saudi government and its royal family came as the country was working to secure a $100 billion arms deal with the U.S., spending money at Trump properties the month he signed the May 2019 deal.

While the report offers significant insights into Trump’s business activities, it notes shortcomings in documenting the larger picture, writing that what was uncovered was likely a fraction of total spending.

Mazars was either never provided or did not retain key records, the report says, while accusing Comer of releasing the company from providing the records won in a court battle.

House Oversight Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) in March pointed to a letter from Trump attorney Patrick Strawbridge saying, “I do not know the status of Mazars production, but my understanding is that the committee has no interest in forcing Mazars to complete it and is willing to release it from further obligations under the settlement agreement.”

Comer denied that at the time.

“There has been no coordination or discussion with anyone from the committee’s majority with anyone about the Mazars documents,” Comer spokesman Jessica Collins said in a statement to The Washington Post, calling the allegations “completely unfounded and untrue.”

The report follows another review earlier this year documenting Trump’s failure to disclose more than $250,000 in gifts from foreign governments.

The Hill has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.

House Oversight Dems accuse James Comer of obstructing probe into Trump finances

The House Oversight and Reform Committee Democrats published a nearly 200-page report Thursday detailing what they uncovered in an over two-year investigation into cash Donald Trump brought into his businesses while president — but they said their efforts were stymied by the committee chair.

"The limited records obtained by the Oversight Dems for just 4 of the 500+ businesses Trump owned while he was President reveal they collected payments from these foreign governments," they said with a photo of flags that include China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Malaysia, U.A.E. Democratic Republic of Congo, India, Turkey, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Albania, Hungary, Cyprus, Latvia, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Mongolia and Kuwait.

Amid their probe, power changed hands, the committee continued in its statement.

According to a statement from the Democrats, when Republicans came into office, new chairman, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), who obstructed them at every turn.

The statement continued, directly attacking Comer for "quickly" agreeing with Trump's lawyers to bury further evidence, blocking Oversight Dems from discovering additional documents.

"Comer prevented Oversight Democrats from finding out how many more foreign governments made unconstitutional payments to Donald Trump, including payments from: Azerbaijan, Russia, South Korea, Georgia, Nambia, Romania, Costa Rica, South Africa and Brazil," it read.

As chairman, the Dems said that Comer colluded with Trump's lawyer and "we don’t yet know the full extent of the foreign payments that Trump received — or even the total number of countries that paid his businesses while he was President."

They accuse Trump of using the presidency to "cash in" while he "trampled the Constitution" and "sold out the American people to at least 20 foreign powers — and the GOP helped him conceal the evidence."

Treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans first bend their knee to Traitor Trump and worship at his feet. And then jerk their knee to what ever Trump wants. Its very simple in Trump's mentally ill mind. I got impeached twice. (For very good reasons.) So since I got impeached you must impeach President Biden for revenge and retribution. Never mind President Biden is not guilty of any high crimes or misdemeanors. Just do it. And the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans obey the orders of their cult leader.

Trump allies behind January 6 also leading Biden impeachment, says watchdog

The attempted US coup of 6 January 2021, never ended, according to a watchdog report, since the same Donald Trump allies behind that insurrection are now leading a sham impeachment effort against Joe Biden.

The report, marking three years since a mob of Trump supporters ransacked the US Capitol in a bid to overturn his election defeat, was produced by the Congressional Integrity Project and obtained by the Guardian.

It argues that scores of Trump loyalists in the House of Representatives have continued to push the former president’s election lies and are ready to go further in a bid to put him back in the White House.

“In fact, the key players involved in Trump’s scheme to overturn the election in 2020 are the very same Republicans leading the bogus impeachment effort against President Biden,” it says.

These include Mike Johnson, the House speaker; Jim Jordan, the chair of the House judiciary committee; and James Comer, the chair of the House oversight committee, all of whom continue to push Trump’s debunked conspiracy theories and wage a crusade to impeach Biden.

Last month, the House voted along party lines to officially authorise an impeachment inquiry into Biden after months of claiming that he and his son, Hunter, engaged in an influence-peddling scheme. Even some Republicans, such as Utah senator Mitt Romney, pointed out that there is no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden himself.

The project’s report describes the Biden impeachment inquiry as “a partisan political stunt” designed to hurt Biden and help Trump return to the White House in 2024, and says it is “an extension of, not separate from, the events of January 6, 2021”.

It quotes Jim McGovern, a Democratic congressman from Massachusetts, as saying: “They still want to overturn the election. What they couldn’t do on January 6th they’re trying to do with this process.”

The report highlights the role of Johnson, who was elected speaker in October to replace the ousted Kevin McCarthy and has supported an impeachment inquiry for months. After the 2020 election, he said the outcome had been “rigged” and amplified Trump’s baseless conspiracy theories about Dominion voting machines.

Johnson stayed in close contact with Trump and publicly encouraged him to “stay strong and keep fighting”. He pressured Republican colleagues to support a Texas lawsuit that sought to overturn the election on the unconstitutional premise that the expansion of vote by mail during the pandemic had been illegal, and he managed to collect signatures from more than 60% of House Republicans.

On the morning of 6 January 2021, Johnson tweeted: “We MUST fight for election integrity, the Constitution, and the preservation of our republic!” Later that day he voted to overturn the 2020 election, refusing to certify the results in Arizona and Pennsylvania. In all, eight Republican senators and 139 Republican representatives voted to overturn the result.

Johnson also voted against bipartisan legislation that would create a September 11-style commission to investigate the attack on the US Capitol. He refused to hold people accountable for the violence that day, voting against holding Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena from the House January 6 committee.

He has attacked investigations into January 6 as a “third impeachment” and “pure political theatre”. More recently, Johnson alleged that the FBI director Christopher Wray was “hiding something” about the FBI’s presence in the Capitol on 6 January 2021, echoing a conspiracy theory spread by rightwing extremists implying that federal agents had a role in orchestrating the insurrection.

When asked in October whether he believed the 2020 election was stolen, Johnson refused to comment: “We’re not talking about any issues today … My position is very well-known.”

Jordan, meanwhile, was a key figure in the attempt to subvert US democracy who pushed the Trump administration to “unilaterally reject certain states’ electors” the day before January 6. He opposed the creation of a January 6 committee and has refused to cooperate with any investigative efforts into the violence of that day.

Before the 2022 midterm elections, Jordan stated that his investigations into Biden “will help frame up the 2024 race … We need to make sure that [Donald Trump] wins.” Last month he boasted that the impeachment inquiry against Biden was influencing polling numbers for the 2024 presidential election: “I think all that together is why you see the [polling] numbers where they are at.”

The report names other key “election deniers and insurrection apologists” in Congress such as Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania, Paul Gosar of Arizona, Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Pete Sessions of Texas, Byron Donalds of Florida, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Troy Nehls of Texas, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Dan Bishop of North Carolina, Greg Steube of Florida, Tom Tiffany of Wisconsin, Scott Fitzgerald of Wisconsin and Cliff Bentz of Oregon.

Kyle Herrig, the executive director of the Congressional Integrity Project, said: “The attempted impeachment of President Biden isn’t merely a political stunt: it’s an attempt to finish the job Jordan, Trump, Greene and Johnson started long before January 6, 2021, culminating in the violent attack on the Capitol.

“They are willing to trash the institution of the House, its role in legitimate oversight, the constitution and our democracy. At the Congressional Integrity Project, the gloves are off, and protection of our democracy is on.”

This is funny because its just the tip of the iceberg. Treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans cam
t find any evidence of President Biden being corrupt. But the Democrats have a ton of evidence of Trump's corruption. And they haven't even gotten to Ivanka and Jared yet. Who were actually in the White House shaping US foreign policy.

Donald Trump's businesses raked in at least $7.8 million from 20 foreign governments throughout his presidency, new documents released by House Democrats on Thursday show, according to The New York Times. The overseas transactions, outlined in a 156-page report called "White House For Sale" produced by House Oversight Committee Democrats, provide hard evidence of the former president's engagement in the kind of conduct House Republicans accuse President Joe Biden of as they attempt to build an impeachment case against him despite their probe of his alleged dealings failing to yield any evidence.

The report details how foreign governments and their controlled entities, including a top U.S. adversary, patronized Trump's businesses while he was in office. They shelled out millions to the now-defunct Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.; the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas; Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City; and Trump World Tower at 845 United Nations Plaza in New York. China made the largest total payment to Trump's properties, amounting to $5.5 million including millions from China's U.S. Embassy, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Hainan Airlines Holding Company, the report found.

Saudi Arabia was the business' second-largest customer, having dolled out more than $615,000 at the Trump World Tower and Trump International Hotel. ”By elevating his personal financial interests and the policy priorities of corrupt foreign powers over the American public interest, former President Trump violated both the clear commands of the Constitution and the careful precedent set and observed by every previous commander in chief,” wrote Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., in a foreword to the document. “That narrative is insane,” Eric Trump told the Times of the Democrats’ report, adding “there is no president in United States history who was tougher on China than Donald Trump.”

And here we see how the despicable propaganda machine will take one of their propaganda pieces and then broadcast it repeatedly over multiple media outlets.

The basic theory is, repeat a lie often enough and people will begin to accept it as truth.

'If Republicans were serious about getting Hunter Biden testimony, they could': Liz Cheney

Speaking to "The View" on Wednesday, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) explained that if Republicans truly cared about hearing from Hunter Biden, then they could make it happen.

In a wide-ranging interview about the state of the Republican Party, Cheney was asked about the disastrous House Oversight and Reform Committee that met Wednesday to discuss holding Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress because he refused to testify behind closed doors. Biden unexpectedly appeared at the hearing, willing to speak, but publicly. Republicans have refused to allow it.

"I think sunshine is the best disinfectant," said co-host Sunny Hostin. "And Hunter Biden says he will publicly testify and show up today. They didn't take him up on his offer. What did you make of the entire zoo that we saw?"

Cheney said that from her observation, the Republicans don't really care about his testimony.

"I think with respect to his testimony, if the Republicans on the committee were really serious about getting his testimony, they could work it out," she explained. "I mean, if you look at the [House] Select Committee, there are many people who didn't want to testify, and, you know, we worked it out, and there are ways you can do that."

She explained that it's important people understand and recognize "these aren't games. These are really important issues."

Holding the "circus," she said, for "political gain, I think, is really damaging."
