I don't know why the House Republicans didn't just start their impeachment based on Biden breaking (not just failing to enforce. which is impeachable in and of itself) our border laws, which call for the immediate deportation of any illegal immigrant who enters the U.S. anywhere except an official point of entry.

Let alone that it's come out that Biden had over 350,000 non-citizens provided with airfare and dispersed throughout the country upon landing. 100% an illegal act of Biden's administration.

Both of those instances are easily impeachable.

 

So, lets see.

House Oversight Committee chair James Comer (R-KY) got an earful on Fox News Radio when conservative analyst Guy Benson asked him to defend against accusations from the media on how the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden appears to be going nowhere.

Comer did his best to defend the work his committee had done — but was light on hard details or accomplishments.

“Since you mentioned this investigation, Mr. Chairman, this is not an impeachment process, this is an impeachment inquiry," said Benson. "We are trying to gather more facts. And what we get, certainly from the media and certainly from their friends in the Democratic Party is, they look at the process that you're overseeing and they say: This is embarrassing. This is a failure. There's nothing here. It's a witch hunt. It's a fishing expedition. They've got nothing and this is just an ongoing humiliation."

"That's the narrative that they've decided to land on," he added, trying to soften things. "I know that your perspective is different. I guess the question is, have you guys made any meaningful progress since launching the inquiry that you think Americans need to see? Okay, they can yell and scream about how there's nothing here. Is there something to see here that's new?”

"Absolutely," said Comer, claiming that prior to his investigation, everyone thought "the laptop was Russian disinformation." He added that they've verified "all the emails, all the pictures that implicate Joe Biden."

Notably, Comer's committee has not in fact found any hard evidence that the president is linked to his son's international business dealings or in any way laundered improper money through them; even the GOP's own witnesses during impeachment hearings have not provided evidence of this.

Indeed, recent reports indicate that House Republicans are searching for a graceful way to end the impeachment inquiry without having to vote on articles, perhaps by making a toothless criminal referral to the Justice Department.

It was not always this way. Prior to Ronald Reagan and Roger Ailes we had what was called the "fairness doctrine" which prevented people from just sitting there and lying. Because the way it worked is if someone was lying of making false attacks the outlet had to provide equal time for someone to respond. I saw that in action many times and it worked because outlets didn't want to give up that much time for people to respond.

But then Ailes convinced Regain to get rid of the fairness doctrine which allowed Ailes to create Fox News and the right wing false propaganda noise machine was invented to pump out nothing but lies false propaganda fear hate and anger 24/7/365 to try and outshout reality.

Then about the same time journalism changed. At one time journalists and news outlets knew there was always two sides to every story but usually only one of them was true. And it was the journalist's job to figure out which one was true and make the call. In other words come right out and say which story was true.

But then the right invented the myth of the "liberal press" and screamed about that until the press changed and started treating all opinions as equally valid. Even when one opinion was based on truth, facts, reason, and logic and the other opinion was based on nothing but lies, false propaganda, fear, hate and anger.

That was the worst travesty our press could have inflicted on the American people because they could no longer tell what was true and real. And all they get is confused.

And it does not have to be like this. The easiest thing would be simply returning to the fairness doctrine. But in the meantime people companies and organizations are finally fighting back with lawsuits, That's the hard and slow way to go about it but at least its helping.

 

Why would President Biden, or anyone for that matter, show up for one of these treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican phony scam hearings just to be yelled at, falsely accused, asked questions and then be shouted over and never allowed to actually answer the question? These are not hearings trying to find any actual truth. They are simply opportunities for treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans to grandstand and fund raise off their lies.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House on Monday rejected a long-shot effort from House Republicans to get President leaving the page." data-wf-tooltip-position="bottom" data-wf-reset-every="90">Joe Biden to testify before lawmakers in the GOP's stalled impeachment inquiry.

In a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, the White House dismissed the invitation sent to Biden last month, calling it a “partisan charade” in an impeachment probe that has unearthed no evidence implicating the president in any wrongdoing while in public office. House Republicans had been seeking information related to the Biden family's business dealings in what the GOP characterized as an alleged influence-peddling scheme.

“Your Committee’s purported ‘impeachment inquiry’ has succeeded only in turning up abundant evidence that, in fact, the President has done nothing wrong,” Richard Sauber, special counsel to the president, wrote in the letter sent to Comer on Monday.


Sauber added, “Your insistence on peddling these false and unsupported allegations despite ample evidence to the contrary makes one thing about your investigation abundantly clear: The facts do not matter to you.”

Sauber himself is leaving the White House early next month, another sign from the administration's perspective that the House Republicans' push to impeach Biden is largely over. The lawyer was brought on in 2022 to oversee the White House's response to congressional investigations as Democrats braced to lose their majorities on Capitol Hill later that November.

To replace Sauber, the White House is elevating his deputy, Rachel Cotton. Sauber is returning to the private sector.

In his request to the White House, Comer had asked Biden to “explain, under oath,” what involvement he had in the Biden family businesses.

The committee has asserted for the past year that the Bidens traded on the family name, by trying to link a handful of phone calls or dinner meetings between Joe Biden, when he was vice president or out of office, and Hunter Biden and his business associates.

But despite dedicating countless resources and interviewing dozens of witnesses, including the president’s son Hunter Biden and the president’s brother James Biden, Republicans have not produced any evidence that shows Joe Biden was directly involved or benefited from his family’s businesses while in public office.

'You need therapy': Jamie Raskin and James Comer blow up hearing with clash over Biden

Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and James Comer (R-KY) clashed Wednesday in a shouting match over the possible impeachment of President Joe Biden.

At a House Oversight Committee hearing on China, Raskin observed that Republicans had accused Biden of taking bribes — the cornerstone of the GOP's impeachment inquiry which has so far failed to turn up convincing evidence.

"It has obviously been dropped, and yet this was the genesis of our investigation," Raskin said.

"That is just simply not true, but go ahead and finish your story," Comer interrupted.

"Oh, I agree you have been talking about bank statements for more than a year, but they don't show anything other than there was no crime," Raskin pointed out.

The confrontation became heated as it continued.

"Do you want to move for impeachment today?" Raskin asked. "Because I thought that that was your main agenda item."

"You all need therapy, Mr. Raskin," Comer said.

"No, you need therapy," Raskin shot back. "You're the one who's involved with the deranged politician, not me, okay?" he said, referring to former President Donald Trump.

"I've divorced myself from Donald Trump a long time ago," Raskin added. "You're the one who needs to disentangle from that situation."

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) said Wednesday that he might soon reveal the “crime” that will support President Joe Biden’s impeachment, but people were skeptical that would actually happen.

Very skeptical.

During a meeting of the House Oversight Committee, which Comer chairs, the Kentucky Republican had an exchange with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) that some news outlets called both “testy” and “spicy.”

Raskin was angry that Comer is continuing to investigate the Biden family even though he has not identified a single crime that rises to the “high crimes and misdemeanors” bar for impeachment.

“What is the crime that you want to impeach Joe Biden for and keep this nonsense going? Why? What is the crime? Tell America right now!” Raskin thundered.

Comer responded: “You’re about to find out. You’re about to find out very soon.”

Comer has made repeated claims that evidence of Biden’s crimes will be coming soon ― only to then not actually offer any.

Democratic members of the committee, such as Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.), have dared Comer to call for an impeachment vote, knowing the evidence against Biden isn’t there.

Not surprisingly, many people, including members of Congress, trolled Comer over his response to Raskin.
