Does anyone enjoy my work? :]

 

If you enjoy writing it, why stop in the first place? Sure, time constraints and other tasks can get in the way, but no ones stopping you from writing some more if you want to. Im sure lots of people here likes your stories.

I havent taken a look at any of your work yet but will do so in the coming days. Once I manage to finish off my latest art piece, signed it and handed it in, I'll come by to have a lookie.

TE you should never stop writing if its your passion. It is a great way to vent and escape. There's great talent in good writing that is earned from within.

TE, I have to be honest.

I liked your story. I really did. I think it was the rape one that I read.

Anyhow, I liked it but the grammar was really bad. I nearly gave up a few times. Just watch your tenses. Watch your spelling. And, please, watch where your characters are. There was a lot of "I threw her down on the floor" followed quickly by "I climbed on the bed, atop her" or shit like that. And I'm thinking wasn't she on the floor???

Just keep an eye on that kind of stuff. It can get confusing.

But the emotion was very real and intriguing. I enjoyed the story. But it was a lot of work to read it.

I hope this doesn't come off too mean. I'm really (for once) not trying to be.

I think you just get ahead of yourself. You have to write slower than you think. I do it too, sometimes. But you have to keep pace with where your characters ARE. Not where you want them to be. It can be hard, I know.

And proof-read. It's a pain, too. But you'll catch a lot of stuff that way. And, although it sucks, take a few days off before you proof-read. I find that what I think I wrote and what I actually wrote are very different sometimes. And if I proof-read too soon, I see what I think I wrote rather than what I actually wrote.

Writing is a hard thing to do. But the first step is actually having an interesting story to tell. You've got that part down. Now it's just about focusing.

2008 was a great year, wasn't it?

 

Haven't seen any of your stories lately but I see that you're still active so jump right in and write something! I'm sure it will be well worth reading.

 

While I do not think I have read your work personally, I always tell writers to keep plugging away! My favorite thing to say is "A good story is in the mind's eye of the reader." For everything you write, there are two things that WILL happen, regardless: first, there will always be at least one person who absolutely loves it, and second there will always be at least one person who absolutely hates it. Write for all the lovers out there. If you are passionate about writing then certainly do it, rather it be a hobby or a full time job.

I will also say to never back down and never let anyone tell you that you can't write. So long as -you- think you are a good writer, then nothing else matters. I have had some nasty comments from readers and even writers tell me that I can't write or that I'm not a good story teller. But I think I am, and since I only write for myself, I take all the negativity with a grain of salt. It makes me happy when others enjoy my work, sure. But to those who don't like it then I say it's their loss. You have to have a pretty thick skin to take all the rudeness that will inevitably come your way. But as long as you try to not take it personally (and it gets hard when you have someone trashing the story you worked so hard to create) then those few "I love it!" comments make the work all the more rewarding.

So long story short (yeah, too late), definitely keep writing if you like it. And for those who don't like it....to hell with 'em!
