You think any of that is going to matter to people who are self righteous enough to form a lynch mob and claim they care about children. Those are opposite goals.

Here's what they remind me of. Several decades ago a traveling circus stopped off in a small southern town and while they were there one of the elephants either stepped on or stomped on depending who you were talking to and killed a six year old girl. What was their response? The formed a mob and lynched the elephant with a crane.

Deep down inside a part of me is as glad as anyone else the guy is dead. But I try and control that part because I don't want to end up hanging an elephant. Instead I think we should think differently then he did. I think the rule of laws that protect us all have to apply. And I would like to know why he did it because maybe we could recognize the signs in symptoms in time to save the next child.

But what upsets more than anything else is if we really care about Children, and everybody should we should remember this is just one child we happened to hear about there are millions of them we don't and we ought to care about them just as much and do the things necessary to save them.

 

Incubus let me tell you something you don't because believing your own bullshit in this regard is dangerous to yourself and others. No human being knows what they will or won't do in any given situation, especially in situations that are violent and life is on the line.

Now you don't have to believe me. You can ask combat veterans, you can ask cops, you can ask emergency personnel or you can ask psychologists and most of them will tell you the same thing.

BUT- i know a lot of males that would react in that way if they saw a female or a child being hurt fatally. if you were to walk by a grown man slamming a small child on the ground and literally beating him to death, you would NOT just keep walking. and if you stood there and called the cops, by the time the cops came that kid would be dead. you could try to pull the guy away from the kid, but chances are he'll come at you with his fist. your animal instict is going to come out.

i know two wrongs don't make a right. and solving violence with violence is never an answer. but that cop gave that guy exactly what he deserved. and if i were a guy, and had seen that with my own two eyes, i would've thrown the knucks more than a few times.

If you'd take even the minimum amount of effort to actually read this thread instead of being as I have described others on this thread phony bullshitters, you'd know that I've said exactly the same thing your saying here. But I started it by admitting I don't really know what I would do in that situation because human beings don't. Everyone of those people who stood there and witnessed this I bet would have said the same thing as you and I until confronted with the reality and then instead they stood there and watched.

But to answer your question in a more realistic way. Ask that question of some father who in a life and death moment responded to his own survival instincts and ran out of harms way leaving his wife in children to die because men can run faster. It happens so often they've done studies on it, because our conscious brain has no control over our primitive brain once the instinct to survive kicks in.

And what makes you think you are so entirely different than the people who were standing right there.

As soon as you let yourself get to that state of mind you are doing exactly to that man what that man is doing to that child, and are actually just as capable of doing it to a child has he is. and now, I'll explain why....because YOU HAVEN'T BEEN THERE BEFORE. That cop, knew exactly what to do because he had been in that type of situation before, or at the very least had gotten training for it. You would've looked on in shock just like everybody else did, horrified at how somebody could possibly do that to a helpless kid, and by the time the shock wore off, it'd be too late.

Me, I can safely say that I would infact react quickly to it, because I've been there. Not as a toddler obviously, but it wouldn't shock me, because I've seen how people can do that to their own children firsthand. It would set off a trigger and I wouldn't be able to control myself. I don't know, whether I'd react by trying to save the kid, by reverting back to the "scared victim" type and not wanting to confront the scary man who was hurting somebody for fear that he'd do it to me, or if it would just be white hot rage, and I would just fuck the person up because it reminded me of the people who did the same thing to me at points in my life. Even I don't know how I'd react, so there's no way in hell that you would.
