I think, if I remember rightly that the ages in the bible were ordered by phases of the moon, as opposed to the Gregorian calendar we use today. This would have made Adam 78.3 years, which still seems a little on the steep side, as the mortality rate was far lower than today.

ok here's my explanation, you are quoting the New Testament which was written not only decades and centuries after the death of Jesus Christ, but centuries and millenia after Genesis

Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible, if you remember Moses lived a while after Genesis so most of what he had written down was oral tradition

The Old Testament is mainly a history of the Hebrew people

history passed by mouth is rarely accurate

Then maybe it could have been someone live for 930 years... Though they used a messed up calendar

Statements made in the Bible have been proven wrong repeatedly. In fact, it contradicts itself in many places. The usual response of the clergy is to revise its interpretation and say the Bible shouldn't be read so literally.
