Let me take a moment to explain myself:

The enthusiasm I have for searching out pics that I think would work in this thread is a direct result of the amount of input the thread gets.

I fully appreciate your guesses, and Jamie's and recently Scott's, and I like reading what you all come up with.

But I can't expect three or four people to be here all the time, keeping the thread going and "entertaining" me----that is not fair on my part.

When there were 10, 12, 15 members who were here regularly and guessing, they could each come in once or twice a week and it kept the thread lively.....

I admit that since the thread has been so dead, I have not even looked for new pics for the last 5 or 6 weeks, and I only have 4 pics left "in reserve".

 

Just a short comment before I have to go for a couple of hours.

I understand your frustration, and I wonder why so many people visit stupid threads such as "Let's count..." etc. when there are interesting and creative games such as this one.

IMO this thread should be on top of page 1, so maybe Jamie can stick it - given that she agrees with me.

 

Jamie is very busy at the moment and I don't expect her to be here all the time or to bail ME or the thread out.

It is what it is.

The interest in the thread is practically dead.

Life goes on.

 

This thread has always entertained me... I will continue to seek it out its one I look forward to in all the posts.....If it goes I will be saddened... but perhaps my own fault for just being an observer..... But either way THANK YOU for all your efforts!!

I understand that most people are observers, and that is fine; but the heart of the thread is the wit or silliness of the guesses.

When that is gone, there is essentially no thread.

I will probably post another game in a couple of days, but unless I stumble across some pics accidentally that I think could work, I am not going to take time to hunt them down if only a handful of members are interested.

 

I know, she's busy mastering her first semester. But sticking a thread takes a couple of seconds.

 

Observer is a nice term, but leecher sounds more realistic. Most people who visit boards are not willing (and some of them aren't even able) to contribute, instead they leech in one way or another. Sad but true.

 

Not everyone feels that they CAN contribute and many probably don't either want to be found to be 'not witty' or to guess wrong (which is really a 'who cares'-----you don't have to guess correctly to have fun).

There is nothing wrong with just being an observer of this thread, but if NO ONE guesses for days, or only one or two members show up, it is just not very lively.

That is all I am going to say on the matter, because I keep repeating myself----and THAT is boring!
