Just be there to love and support him through it, and he will be okay. atleast he has people that care about him to help him through it, and he's not going through it alone. I'll keep him in my mind, and I'm hoping for the best. 95% chance is better then 5% chance by a long shot, put your faith in the doctors, and in his will to live, and he'll come out fine.

i'm so sorry L!! i'll keep him in my prayers, and i hope he's okay. like matt said, 95% chance is really good! my father had a heart attack at work about 3 years ago, and it scared the hell out of me. i know how you feel!

Thank you to everyone else who has posted and for all the prayers and sweet words! I'm waiting to hear something from my sister as our dad is still in surgery.

And yes, TCL, I've talked to my mom about going out to California...being 3000 miles away is hard.

 

I never in my life felt better than since my heart bypass surgery. He should be feeling like a young man again. Probably about 2 to 4 weeks in rehab. I know it was hard at first to walk very far, but after a month from the surgery I had no problem with a half mile. Now I can dance 5 hours. I couldn't do that before even when younger.

 

Thanks for the info, Lainey! My dad's always been a great dancer...in fact, my parents met at a dance and having been dancing ever since.

WoW ... Lioness, its about 1:30 in Cali now, how is your dad doing?
My heart goes out to you ... its tough going under the knife but I think its tougher waiting. Just know like BG said your dad will feel better once he gets through the recovery. Take comfort that modern technology had come a long ways and I have no doubt that your dad will be fine.

 

Thank you, BR! I have no idea how my dad is doing. When I asked my sister awhile ago, she hadn't heard anything yet either. I guess no news is good news.

 

Wanting to go and being able to are two different things but I know what you mean...I'm still considering it.
