  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

You know what I mean, the songs you said you hated because they were not "cool" and the reactionary, status quo crowd you ran with, that pretended to be so open to anything, would not approve of?

While my friends and I were listening to the Sex Pistols and the Clash and PiL in the 70s*, I was really grooving to the Bee Gees and Chic and Chicago, too!

I even listen to it openly now, lol.

So what are your dirty little musical secrets?

How funny.............when I was in high school, I worked except when in school and had absolutely no interest in what the other kids thought was cool or anything else. I never made any attempt to conform to anyone else's ideas of anything. Kids in school are actually like a herd of sheep.

I played horn as well as guitar, so I PROUDLY wore my Terry Kath Chicago t-shirt(s)!
But when my friends were listening to AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet and Kiss, bands which I now appreciate, I was listening to Jeff Beck's fusion stuff, Dixie Dregs and Charlie Parker driving down the road, trying to be all "avant garde." Deep Purple stayed by my side everywhere though, that way MY band.

    But for closet listening

The Four Seasons Who Loves You Album.Woulda got my butt kicked almost as fast as walking into a biker bar and playing Barry Manilow on the jukebox. Looking back, I realize I was right...it is a freaking Production Masterpiece. Someone spent many nights in that studio with headphones on and a straw up their nose, analyzing every last aspect of each track. My Ultimate musical DLS. I still don't share this with many in TRW

John Denver, Jim Croce, Kris Kristofferson, and Gordon Lightfoot. Any and everything they did.Once again...would have got me killed

Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Gram Parsons, The Byrds, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard. Grady Martin, Luther Perkins, Don Rich, Reggie Young, James Burton,Clarence White and Royal Nichols taught me as much about a guitar as Hendrix or Beck or Blackmore. Those were my Daddy's albums so I could just shrug them off to my friends, all the while going "what did my Mom do with my Black Sabbath albums?".

Some disco songs, and Village People, as well as "White Wedding"...a lot of overplayed songs. Now many years later, I don't mind them, a few I get a kick out of.

Who's stupid enough to pretend not to like something just because somebody else doesn't like it?

I was a huge Carpenters fan (god bless Karen...) at a time when they were seen as the epitome of un-cool!

At the same time, I was a huge fan of Glam Rock (I still am!! :excited:), so I tended to talk about the Sweet, Slade, Wizzard, the Glitter Band, Showaddywaddy et al... and listen to the dulcet tones of the Carpenters in private...
