What is the best country to live in and why. I would like to know about other countries and why you thing your country is the best.

 

Living in the UK - I really wouldn't know - Italians seem quite friendly and the temparature is generally benine. The younger women are generally hot, but they do let themselves go, and end up looking like a sherman tank.

I think this is going to be one of those threads that there just isn't a definitive answer on - each country has it's good points and bad

 

I'm going to resist the temptation to cite my own country. If I chose not to live here, I'd probably opt for one of the following, assuming I could become a citizen:

Sweden
Norway
Denmark
The Netherlands
Belgium
UK (specifically Scotland)
Switzerland
Austria
New Zealand

As you can see, I tend to like cooler climates.
And a good social safety net with universal health care.

 

What about Ireland???

Average climate (similar to the UK)
No natural disasters
No wars
Plenty of jobs
Plenty of beer
Beautiful landscapes
Quite retreats

Ireland, what a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. Also, I thing Australia or Switzerland.

 

Ireland is beautiful, but perhaps a little too heavy-handedly Catholic for my taste. I don't think they'd approve of me.

 

Granted it's very Catholic, but they've had some pretty outspoken people come from Ireland.

 

I thought you'd enjoy not being approved of.

And if you move to Scotland you'd have to eat deep fried Pizza. You wouldn't want that, would you?

 

Noooo, I was a HUGE hit in Scotland! One night we were at that hotel near the train station in Edinburgh (the Caledonian?), and a bunch of guys dared me to eat haggis and chase it with a few shots of single malt. They obviously didn't know just who they were dealing with!

 

ah...but was it a live haggis....??:-D

where to live..

I have to look at anyplace with my work in mind.. Photography, my writing can be done anywhere..

Canada, would make the easiest transition.. mostly because I know it pretty well.. and already know a spot I would like..

New Zeland for beauty.. Then Australia for work and plenty of country to explore..

 

Yikes! Not as far as I know.

But here's the thing...there's no way I'm going to take culinary advice from a Brit. I've had too many breakfasts in London that featured burnt toast, hard fried eggs, burnt bacon, and cereal that tasted like wallboard.

 

I shouldn't have left out Canada. That's definitely on the list.

I now live in Canada and I did live in the U.S. But for countries I would love to live in, here ya go:

New Zealand (the friendliest people I have ever met!)
U.K. (Just the attitude they give is incredible and pure honest!)
Australia (Right along w/ New Zealand)
Greece (my heritage[ok, I'm half Greek], and to marvel at the architecture)
