look at my "where I come from" album on my profile....I've been to a lot of places....but I always come back here....Oregon, raw, wild, beautiful and if you don't like the rest of the world, you can climb a mountain, hole up and live without human contact for as long as you wish

 

Maybe so, but apart from Guinness and Whiskey they fail on all the other aspects of my list.

 

And Oregon has some of the finest looking men I have ever seen..seriously handsome..

Maybe so, but Italy have beaten them once already. Ireland has its good points but Italy beats them for food, beaches, skiing, wine, fast cars (don't even mention the Delorian) and football.

Every other country has it's charms, and would probably be a great place to visit. But when it comes to a place to live, this is the place. No contest.

There are people here from every other nation, and every cultural background. If you can't find your homies here, you ain't lookin'.

Fox News bloviating to the contrary, we are a pretty tolerant place. Especially for religions of differing types.
We weren't always like that, and we still have a ways to go in improving our attitudes. But there's no other place where so many differing views can voice their opinions and creed peacefully and without retribution or suppression.

Yes, I know we are still a bit puritan in our politics and because of that, in our practices. But those octogenarians are dying out quickly, and their prejudices and bigotries are dying with them. Slower, sure. But they are going.

No where else can you aspire to so much, and actually achieve it. Some people think it their job to keep that from happening, because they were born to success while you might have to work for it. But they will fail because they are fighting success. They are trying to protect an idea of privilege instead of fighting for an ideal of self advancement.

Our economy is in the tank right now. That won't last. The guys keeping it there are doing it by suppressing every program that might pull it out, because they want the power of the oval office above all else. They will keep doing that until it becomes obvious they have been denied that office by their own actions. After that they will grumble and bitch, but they will also get some real work done. And things will get better very fast.

The current climate of intolerance sounds and looks bad to the outside world. It's hard to get others to see things from the inside, but there are aspects of the U.S. that can't be found anywhere else. It's those things that bind us together even more strongly in times of trouble than in times of ease. We fight, scratch, argue, insult and abuse each other. And we would fight to the death to protect each other.

You guys are countries. We are family.

 

Can't forget about Scottish women ......... yummy.

Both Ireland and Scotland are great places to visit and I have been to both a few times, but live there ......... the jury is still out on that one.

Santorini Greece was always my favorite place in the world and someone had to go and fuck that one up as well.
