george bush! you say? No one ever said he could give a speech. He wasn't known for reading speeches, or having teleprompters in gradeschool classes.

Then, the man talks about not blowing money on things and at the same time set a new record holding a party every 3 days his first year in office. Hipocracy much?

It's more what she wrote on her hand. She had to write down her key points... it'd be different if she wrote down some stats or something, but how can you forget your position on something?

Not only that, but how can you write on your hand, and then ten seconds after looking at it complain about the president using a teleprompter, which every president since LBJ has used in their speeches?

 

My guess is that what was on her hand was the party line that they as a whole were sprouting. I'm sure Palin would have loved to have gone off on her own direction but she wrote the party spiel on her hand just in case she wandered off target....Remember they're pollies and they're famously known for having short memories.

 

One of the words on her hand was "energy".

I read that a "Palin fan" wanted to go listen to her speak about energy.
Palin is the last person I want to hear speak about energy. I can go to an energy conference for free and listen to busineess people, engineers and technicians present and discuss the energy systems that they work on. At least they know what they are talking about.

If Palin knew anything about energy, she would not need to write "enrgy" on her hand. Perhaps some good noteswith statistics and references to particular energy studies. But to say " we can use our countiy's national resources like oil below God's green earth" and be done with it makes you realize that she really hasn't done her homework at all and has no knowledge about energy whatsoever.

The funbniest thing about the notes on the hand is how she complained about President Obama using a teleprompter. Anyone that gives speeches has notes, but on the palm of your hand? That's pretty tacky.

I apologize for having burst people's idea of Palin's greatness.
Palin running for President doesn't scare me because I don't think she could win.

 

Sarah Palin probably cheated her way through school this way.

She would walk into the final exam in a history class with crib notes like:
American Revolution - Washington
Civil War - Grant
World War II - Eisenhower & MacArthur

She forgot the correct answers the day after the test. She still does not know them. :excited:

Sarah Palin disappoints followers

After her Tea Party Convention speech this weekend, Sarah Palin flew to Houston to continue campaigning for herself. The news focused on her appearance at a Rick Perry rally, but Palin also appeared at another event in Houston: a "motivational seminar" at the Toyota Center at which she was the featured attraction...

"I wasn't motivated" one man said to me in the elevator as I left the speech, "she sounded un-prepared and erratic and focused an awful lot on her script."...

Sarah Palin had another engagement in California later in the afternoon and didn't have a minute to waste. The speech itself seemed more like a sermon, Sarah frequently attributed "God" and "Jesus Christ" to lifting her out of despair. She gave several long rambling examples of tough times in Alaska, during which she would occasionally lose her footing and immediately jump to praising the state for it's beauty.

She also focused heavily on her trade mark lines as a crutch. During one incredulous example of a way to get motivated describing a bed time fairy-tale she told to her daughter: "Last night Piper asked me to tell her a bedtime story and I said 'YOU BETCHA,' let me tell you about two brothers named Abel and Cain..."...

She ended by spending several minutes with her head down reading from the podium and gave a very abrupt and final "God Bless America" before departing the stage. As she left one man with a thick country drawl leaned over to me and said "you know, she's not that impressive in person."

No need to go to extremes like that. She just needed to sit in the front row, wear a very short skirt, and leave one too many buttons undone.

 

She didn't forget her position at all. She had the key points written down so she didn't leave any of them out. She spoke extemporaneously about the points. It's unfortunate that The One so rarely speaks extemporaneously (could be because he fumbles through it). It seems more of a message that he's just a mouthpiece instead of a thinker.

You'd think you guys would champion her for not wasting a piece of paper.

If in addition to that she did not wear panties, she could spell her name wrong and still get an A.

 

Yes, that really works in high school. By the time you get to college, though, you have to actually suck and fuck the professors to make it work. And those PhD thesis review boards can be REALLY demanding!

 

That's not how I got through school.

I admit, however, there is a higher level of politics to be played at the PhD level in addition to the work load.

What destroyed the presidency of Jimmy Carter was the Iranian Revolution of 1979. This lead to the rise in the price of petroleum, which lead both to the inflation and the gasoline lines. It also lead to the Hostage Crises.

The Iranian Revolution was not Carter's fault. It was President Eisenhower's. Eisenhower was also responsible for the War in Vietnam.
