You give her way too much credit. My guess is that she had no idea what the phrase meant to Jews -- she just picked it up from another source and thought it sounded like something she should say.

But I'll bet she doesn't apologize for it, either.

To be honest, I was more concerned about the overall tone of her speech than the use of that phrase. She seemed to be angrily defending her right to be offensive and inflammatory, as if it were a good thing.

 

The right for her to speak freely is a very good thing.

 

Nobody is questioning her rights. They're questioning her judgment. Which you adamantly refuse to do.
