That depends on the question at hand . . . but I try to read as many periodicals available on any given topic as possible. This would include Mother Jones and New Republic to catch the more liberal slant on any subject, then American Spectator and National Review for the conservative's position. I have found Miller-McCune and the Pew Reasearch Center to be the most unbiased and thorough lately.

My preferred method is to read books specific to any subject - but sometimes the only texts out there are extraordinarily biased.

I do not rely on the TV news media for anything other than the local news (and I mean very local), and I breeze through a variety of newspapers from time to time - again dependent on the issue at hand.

What to you mean your taxes for farming supplies have gone up 22% in the last eight years? I know the cost of farming supplies have gone up but I'm not aware of any tax increases on farming.
