  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

It doesn't really matter Americans didn't unite under Bush, why the hell don't Americans unite under Obama? He is our president, as said before, it isn't a left vs right anymore it is right vs wrong! Stand behind our president even when he is wrong and when he is right, point out when he is wrong and congratulate him when he is right. America is falling simply because of some party bullshit. What ever happened to America first...

That's true. The republican party was created to free the slaves. Things have changed in the past 140 years haven't they? The republican convention has so many white people in it that you have to wear sunglasses to keep the glare from the lights down. :)

I wish we could get away from the party affiliations and concentrate on the candidates. There are too many people out there voting for one party or another.

This is an excellent response, it debates the points well.

But am afraid it's wasted on a person who's socks are more intelligent then they are. And most likely, even those are dirty and stink

Most people can't stand McCain. If McCain were more likable, he might have gotten the edge he needed to win.

THe republicans made a big mistake making him the nominee.

    Oh well, live and learn.

McCain is just another of a long line of politicians from Arizona that tried to run for president now. McCain was far too negative of a candidate to realistically get elected. He was an unrivaled flip-flopper as well.

It's for the benefit of others. I know Tatman will never get it. I think he's still somewhere between the denial and anger stages.

    I'm tired.

If anything I say has been brought up...sorry.

    1. Blacks have just about always voted democrat...so that argument is pretty fucking stupid.
    2. I have never seen anyone call a white person racist for voting for McCain unless that A) said because obama is black, muslim, a terrorist, suspicious, that they watch fox news and consider it a good source of information, or used any of the retarded arguments sent in chain letters. B) said nothing C) the person asking is retarded D) the person actually is a racist, and people knew this before hand.

If a white person gave actual reasons such as citing how they agreed with McCain's policies, and or citied reason for disagreeing with Obama's. They usually aren't called racist.

    3. Obama especially in American culture is Black. Mulattoes have always been considered black in the States. Mulattoes were slaves, weren't allowed to vote, and still today are treated the same socially as blacks. This is why people consider them "black", and they consider themselves "black", even if genetically they are 50/50.

    4. To say that there were a lot of people that voted for Obama because they could relate to him as something negative...is stupid. People do this for every fucking candidate. People did it for McCain, and more so when Palin joined the Ticket. "I like McCain, and Palin because they make me feel like anyone can be president" "I like Palin because she likes hunting too". You can say the same damn thing about JFK, he won because people thought he looked so much nicer than Richard Nixon. They also liked the way he handled himself on Television. Perhaps if it weren't for the televised debate Nixon would have won, and JFK would be alive. It is somewhat sad that people vote for candidates for stupid reasons, but it's always been this way so this election is no different in that sense.

    5. As far as "experience" goes. Experience doesn't always lead to good things. Take a boxer for 15 years with a record(win-loss-draw) of 32-20-8 against a boxer of 7 years with a record of 16-2-1. They're in a match, who do you think has the odds of winning? For a better non fictional example in the UFC Brock Lesnar had a MMA record of 1-1-0 and beat Heath Herring with a record of 28-13-1. Also like Whitey44 said Obama is educated, has worked with people directly, and won every debate.

    6. These little, half-assed, poorly written(grammar and spelling) insults are boring. They don't impress anyone, and are just desperate attempts to derail an argument you anti-obama people start. Now I have nothing against insults, but at least mix it in with some actual argument.

That could be said of ANY candidate. If McCain had run against bush, would he have won? Doubt it. If McCain had run against Clinton, would he have won? Doubt it.

This is flawed logic. You could pair up any two people to make this point.
    **********

Back to the matter at hand... YES it is WRONG to have voted for Obama just because he is black. Just as it is wrong to have voted against him because he was black. Just as it was wrong for some women to vote McCain just because his VP was a female. But stupid people vote in stupid ways. It doesn't mean the right guy did or didn't get elected. Only time will tell.

As for Obama winning due to the "black vote" I think that's preposterous. First, the african american population is only 15% of the country (as has already been stated). THEN you have to subtract all those who didn't vote or COULDN'T vote (black men are STILL the largest population incarcerated). Vermont and Maine (as far as I can tell) are the only states that allow prisoners to vote. So you are taking a minority and shrinking it even further. THEN add to the fact that most "urban black families" are democrat anyhow. THEN add that the past 8 years of republican "rule" has sliced and diced their paychecks, increased gas prices nearly 400%, cost the US hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of jobs, provided tax breaks for companies that outsource (which reduces the number of available jobs for those who were laid-off). These are people who are going to free clinics for health care because they don't have insurance because they don't have jobs. And if McCain had his way, even if they got jobs, they'd be TAXED on that insurance.

Put simply, while I'm certain SOME black people DID vote because Obama is "black". There are many others who simply voted for who they thought was the best (or at least better) man. And even more who simply voted "anti-republican" or anti-McCain.

I started a thread/poll to see how many people voted simply because he would be the first black candidate. Far more voted against him because he was black than for. (now that's just on here but still...it makes you think)

Finally, I fully believe that Palin did a LOT of hurt to the McCain campaign (and the press seems to agree). Perhaps a wiser choice in VP would have made it a CLOSE loss if not a victory for McCain.

    **************

The Many Ways That Palin Has Hurt McCain

    Howard Fineman

Gov. Sarah Palin's future is secure. She's a genuine grass-roots sensation and will remain one. Too bad that John McCain, the man who made her a star, isn't prospering with her. In fact, despite her nice turn on "Saturday Night Live," she has turned toxic for the McCain camp.

Palin's cheery good looks--and her gun-toting, Bible-thumping small-town conservatism--electrified the Republican convention and temporarily transfixed the "mainstream" media.

But her drawbacks have become painfully clear. For a variety of reasons, she has sent wavering Democrats, independents and moderate Republicans scurrying to Sen. Barack Obama--even as she has failed to substantially expand Sen. John McCain's support, even among the ranks of self-described conservatives.

She was a huge asset for one pol, though: Barack Obama. A top Chicago fundraiser for Sen. Barack Obama tells me that Palin's selection as the GOP's vice presidential candidate was a leading reason why Obama raised an astounding $150 million in September--more than double the previous campaign record. According to this source (a member of the financial inner circle; hence the insistence on anonymity), Obama got that boost because wavering donors were frightened into Obama's arms primarily by Palin's cultural conservatism on issues such as abortion and the teaching of evolution.
Three categories of donors opened their wallets for Obama in September: moderate Republicans; Jewish donors skeptical of Obama's commitment to Israel; and former "PUMAs"--hard-core Hillary Clinton supporters ("Party Unity My Ass). "Palin scared them," my source said, "and they put aside their doubts and resentments."

In the eyes of establishment figures--no matter what their ideology--Palin was a disaster. Leaders and opinion-shapers from Gen. Colin Powell to author Christopher Buckley to pundit-Reageanite Peggy Noonan called McCain's pick a cynical and irresponsible one--even if she had managed to sit still through one Henry Kissinger briefing. To these people, Palin's familiarity with dog-sled races did not make up for her utter lack of deep knowledge or worldly experience.

And for all of her defiant populist rhetoric--perhaps in part because of it--Palin has not unified the conservative movement behind McCain. That may have been too tall an order even for an Alaskan, but she hasn't done it. According to the IBD poll, only two thirds of self-described conservatives are backing McCain. Intentionally or not, Palin's stark and strident approach may be hurting McCain with the hard-right by vividly reminding them of what they expect a real conservative to sound like. This week she broke with her ticketmate to say that she favors a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. In moments like these, her ideological certainty makes him look soft.

Even if the other third of conservatives were watching "SNL," and liked what they saw, that would not be enough to turn this presidential race around.
