  3. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Well, when we learn about sex, puberty, pregnancy etc etc. we learn that masturbation exists, nothing more.. But around in my school and so there is no taboo whatsoever about it :eek::eek:

I mean, me and my mates at school regularly go and shout at each other thing like "Fucking wanker" and stuff, just for jokes, ofcourse. And no one else seem to mind us.

Lolls - what the hell are you suggesting here? That kids are exposed to a live sex show all in the interest of education? That's the only way to get away from 'clinical'.

Sex ed is giving children a background into sex - not a bloody full on tutorial of the subject!!

    No, of course not. :)

There has to be a better way of educating kids about sex so that they are not wanting to 'try it out' to really learn what it's all about. My sex-ed consisted of a one hour 'lecture' by a very embarrassed male teacher armed with a few clumsy stick-figure diagrams. Hardly enlightening...

Okay, I'll assume things have moved on a bit since then (circa 1970),... but not enough it would appear...

My personal feeling is that the stigma attached to masturbation should be removed by means of educating kids that it's not wrong, dirty or shameful. That it is, in fact, perfectly natural and healthy.

I just wonder if it will help alleviate some of the curiosity issues around sex if kids are taught that masturbating is good and healthy - and less fruaght with the spectre of pregnancy - whether it would make any difference to the number of teenage pregnancies?

I didn´t have sex-ed at my school, because they just don´t give it there...they do on other schools over here, but not on mine, even though I once had a really cool religion teacher, she talked with us about topics like sex, masturbation, menstruation, those things. She encouraged us to masturbate, of course she didn´t say, go on do it every day, but she said that it is a wonderful, pleasurable, yet natural thing, we shouldn´t be ashamed or afraid of doing....

I know that it made me feel good, of course she didn´t say stick your finger there or anything, she just talked about it in general as a nice thing to do.....it was great

When you do things like teach kids about mastubration and other things like that, you're taking away even more of their childhood. That's the same reason I think recruiting athletes should be illegal before their senior year, and highschools need to stop making academics so damn competitive, because it ends up with kids worrying and stressing over college by their sophomore and freshmen years of HS, and even by 7th and 8th grade! Let kids be kids, let them grow up on their own time.

I agree with you to a greater extent, but I would also add into that equation the pressure put on kids by the media. The sad reality is that 'childhood' seems to end around age seven or eight years old these days. Kids are 'brand savvy' far more than I can recall being at that age, as they are more sexually aware at a much earlier age, too.

I cannot think that there's any way now to turn back the tide and give kids their innocence back. All we can do is accept what is and work with it. If that means teaching kids about sex from and early age, then that is the way it's going to have to be, regrettably.

Learning about sex is all purely physical. You will never truly know the feeling of how tremendous sex can be until you meet a person as compatible in the sack as yourself.

I guess it's like firing a gun. You can read up for years on how to hold a gun, how you should stand when firing, how to line up your target in the sights. BUT, until you fire a gun, until you feel the recoil, until you experience the after effects of firing it, you'll never know - all your knowledge will be theorising!!

The only way to teach kids that masturbating isn't dirty or shameful is to teach them to own their own bodies. Let them in on the secrets of why our bodies change, the ease of contracting STD's - banishing the playground myths about pregnancy. But to sit down in front of a group of children and say ''There's nothing wrong with pleasuring yourself''? All you're going to do is alienate the children more due to embarrassment. Children need to be able to grow up and away from the pressure of their peers before they can truly start to feel 'ok' about touching themselves. Sex ed such provide a good grounding in understanding our bodies - not about any sexual acts.

You are always going to have instances of teen pregnancy. Children experiment with eachother - they get coerced into having sex by their partners and peers. But teaching them the 'mysteries' of being able to have safe sex and experiment without either contracting a disease, or becoming a young parent is so much more important than teaching them that it's 'ok to masturbate'!!

Oh I'd like to add this too: If you teach kids to 'own' their bodies, then they are not going to feel the same pressure from either the media or their peers - they will have sex, but more so at a time that is right for THEM - and not anybody else!!

I think the world would be a better place if kids were taught at a fairly young age that it's perfectly normal. It would sure relieve them of a lot of guilt. Ideally, parents would do the job, but it's probably still true that many parents won't touch it with the proverbial ten-foot pole.

Still...I'm trying to envision myself teaching a bunch of fifth-graders about the joys of masturbation, and I just can't quite do it. :)

None of us could really (teach it) because it is so personal. Young children in our society are being blasted with sex, they should be discovering themselves instead of trying to live up to what popular media tells them, I know this is an old argument 2.

They teach you about masturbation in Human Sexuality classes in college. So, for those poor unfortunate souls who have been missing out on years of pleasure, they can learn about self pleasuring techniques. I don't know if masturbation should be "taught" in schools, it... It doesn't quite feel right. Dammit, if parents would just take the time out to teach their kids about sex in a responsible way, schools wouldn't have to pick up the burden.

    *grumble, mutter, mutter*

    Humans are such arrogant creatures.

My point in a nutshell. By removing the shame, guilt and stigma attatched to masturbation, kids will learn to love their own bodies... to 'own' them, as you so eloquently put it.

I'm not suggesting that 'technique' should be taught, just that the practice is fine and acceptable. Hell, it was such a tabboo when I was a kid that you really were considered a weirdo and/or a pervert for doing it... That is what i would love to see eliminated, and that can only really come about if kids are told that it's okay and healthy to masturbate.
