I'm just wondering but to do you belive that age matters in a relationship or the age difference between two people,what would you say is too much etc

I tend to be at least 7 years older than anyone I'm with. I don't look for it, but it happens like that. My gal is 7 years younger than me and we've known each other for like 10 years now.

 

Not at all, one age in years does not matter, ones maturity does.

 

Maturity is a huge factor. Now if you're 18 and dating a 10 year old.. Thats a bit too much.. Idk... Age isnt a foctor to me. I think if a girl or boy is mature enough than they should be allowed to do as they please(With in the law and morals of course)​

 

Maturity and energy levels are more important than age. People don't all age the same, that's why some people are barely getting around at 70 while there are 90 yr olds running past them.

I'm dating a girl 23 yrs my junior and we do fine. Actually she needs more sleep than I do.

 

I'm 67 and my wife is almost 45. We find ourselves trying to figure out what she'll do when I'm gone because I will most likely go before her. This is very upsetting for her. It's not something we thought too much about when we got married, but every year we have to think more about it. My health ain't great and there is less and less that I can do in terms of physical work, which drives me nuts. Like we just got about three feet of snow with winds gusting up to 70 mph and I now have to go out and find the snow blower, dig it out and hope like hell I can get it going, just to clean out around the house and barn. I'm not looking forward to it. We have a loooonnnng driveway, but at least the neighbor does that with his tractor.

Age difference shouldn't really matter but much would depend on the reasons for the initial attraction.

An 18 year old lad with a 50 year old women might be looked upon differently to an 18 year old girl with a 50 year old man for example.

There could of course be many different reasons but the long term prospects of such relationships don't bode well.

While it might be socially taboo, there really is no problem with it. Compatability factors though tend to differ with greater age span, young people more often agree with young people (the way their generation was brought up).

 

There are both positives and negatives to big age differences in relationships.
Anyone that says age does not matter is fooling themselves. It does matter. A relationship like this can be very different than one between people of similar age. Things can still work out, but, the younger person often gets the short end of the stick unless the older person is rich. I'm not talking about differences of 10 years or so, I'm talking about 30 years or more.

But, in the end it's really between the two people involved. A few years ago, I read about a 25 year old man marrying a woman that was over 100 years old, in India I think. The woman was considered to be very wise like a Guru or somthing.

And they said it would never last. One of the strangest weddings you'll ever see took place this weekend. The couple involved has known each other for a long time. A very long time. And their union is turning the concept of a May-December romance on its ear. Because this one is more like January-December. He's 24. She's 82.
Reinaldo Waveqche said his "I do's" with Adelfa Volpes in the Argentinean town of Santa Fe on Saturday. The 58-year difference between the two doesn't phase the groom one bit. "I don't care what other people say," the young man told reporters as he led his bride to the altar. The nuptials were performed in a civil ceremony, because the woman claimed a church wedding would seem "ridiculous."
And lest you think this is one of those gold digger cases, the pair has actually been together for some time and has been engaged for years. The man of the house insists it has nothing to do with money. Instead it was a bizarre set of circumstances that brought this odd couple together.
It began when Waveqche's mother died just after he turned 15. He moved in with Volpes, one of his mom's best friends, and their love apparently blossomed when he reached 18 - an emotional attachment she admits encouraging. But she concurs that the age difference has never mattered to her in any way.
The newlyweds plan to spend their honeymoon down in Rio de Janeiro. Neither has any children, and it's highly unlikely the union will produce one. Despite the obstacles against them, Waveqche is convinced this marriage will last. "I've always liked mature women," he assures.

 

Age does matter, and I'm on the wrong end of the curve. However, I do have some pretty nice online friendships with women one fourth my age.

When you're in a relationship age does matter!!! It may not matter when they are 20 and 40, but down the road when they are 60 and 80 it will...People that don't believe it are fooling themselves...

In a friendship age shouldn't matter at all...

i've gotta agree with this one.

my son's grandparents (other side) are 20 years apart. back when they got married, he was 50 she was 30. perfect health, they vacationed together, he was full of life, everything was great. well, he got into his late 70's, had a stroke, and his health just went down, and down. she is pretty much his caretaker, and i'm sick to death of hearing her complain about how he can't hear her, she gets mad that he can't speak correctly, etc. love only takes you just so far, and she isn't the type of woman that can handle having to care for her sick husband, while she's young still and in perfect health.

my boyfriend and i have a 3 year age difference, and that's not an issue at all.
