Actually, I don't find that many people doing that...Often, there's a lot of teasing going on around here...If I thought it was serious I wouldn't like it either...There are one or two, but I just consider the source and ignore it...

You cant deny that many things in USA are not as good as elsewhere ie AU where I live. Our heath system is better [Michael Moore exposed this], you unjustly jail people [for profit by the scum who invest in prisons and need numbers to make vast profits] and one can walk the streets in AU without worrying about getting blown away by gun carrying people. Bottom line is why does the average person need a gun? But on the other hand you do have some good things. Death penalty is one [some states] and USA being the powerful democracy it is guides the world towards democracy. As far as the world wars yes you came in and helped but a bit late guys. Yes without the USA very likely we would be speaking Japanese in AU, that is if any of us survived the viscious way the japs treated people in those days. We would have been slaves and worked to death just like they treated their prisoners. The Japanese are not like that now and are to be commended for the change of heart. But they did some terrible things before [in China] and during WW2 and this will never be forgiven or forgotten. As did the Germans [twice in fact WW1]. They murdered millions. As did Stalin. One other threat was communism but this has been proven a total failure and one day all will fall. Dictators suck and the sooner these monsters are outed the better. One good thing that USA did was oust Sadam and one day, when the dust has settled the people of Irac will thank the USA for democracy. I love democracy. So I say this 'god bless america BUT please get your house in order and treat your own people better' Hopefully Obama will do that as I think he a good decent man.

This is the story... We, the British, dislike the French, they dont like us, but they Really dont like the Germans, who in turn are not to keen on us, (we holiday at the same resorts in europe) but they dont like the French, but they hate the Dutch, who in turn are not to keen on the Germans, or the French.....and so on and so forth it works through Europe,(exept for Belgium, who nobody gives a fuck about). SO everybody has a little bash at each other, its nothing personal, OK in the forties we lost our sense of humour a little, What im saying to our American cousins is its not to take it so seriously, lighten up, its not like were gonna invade,..Oh and thanks for STARBUCKS..yeah great idea...five pound for a cup of coffee..just what we needed.............

I have always liked the USA and American people.

I have been going there for 12 years,mainly Texas and Florida But was in California for a while and LAS VEGAS (baby)

I have never found a lot of difference really,you know when you are in a bad place but that's the same anywhere.

There was a big change after 9/11 (obviously).I flew into Phoenix the first week in October and was surrounded by military at the airport.

So not everyone bashes America,I know many Brits that have been there for years and would never come back here.

for the WW2 America assisted but then so did Russia and many others and what I have learned from the Brits here is that they would not have lost they would have fought tooth and nail till they won

Yes mom, you brought me to this world under pain, and being pregnant with me it ruined your figure. But I really just forgot to call you last week. The USA are the celebrity among the nations. Every step is under scrutiny. If Russia or China violates human rights, nobody really cares. If the USA do this, there's a global outrage. If you think about it, this is an honour.

 

So what exactly does World War II have to do with America's recent foreign policy?

 

The US can be cool but they can also be assholes

 

I think that Europe, including Germany, was very happy about the USA ending WWII. My German family was always very friendly to the Americans after the war. The World held the USA in great favor at that time.


America has done some questionable things like dropped atom bombs on Japan. Was it really necessary? Mabey... The USA protected the rights of Israel since 1948, I think which ticked of the Palestinians and the Arab world. l. Another problem was the handling of the Gulf War and finally the handling of the situation in Iraq. The world became fed up with us. The Bush administration did alot of damage to the USA's reputation in recent years. We completely circumvented the UN with the Iraq War. We got a reputation as global bullies. Now the world's economic crisis is largely blamed on America.



In summary, we now represent not only the good in the world, but also, alot of the bad.

I think things will get better, eventually...
