How little we learn from history. What a lot of shit you comment. While the war with the Japs was basicly over we still had to take Japan itself. The Japs would have fought to the last baby as in those terrible stupid days they believed the fucking emporer was a god and the military and soldiers never gave up and fought to the death. The 2 atom bombs finished the war quickly rather than a full scale invasion of Japan which would have cost millions of lives.


and then we come to those bnombs you dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki slaughtering hundreds of thousands of people. They were experiments to see if the bombs actually worked, the war against the Japanese was basically over. The fight in the Japanese was already gone.

I mean, look at the WWII arguments above. Who won it? America, the U.K., or Russia? When really it was all of the above acting as a group known as the Allies. Now the rest of us spend our time bickering over it like a bunch of high school football players arguing over who got the better play in a winning game. Sure, Britain and Russia managed to stop Germany cold at certain points; but what would have happened if there hadn't been another front to distract him? If Stalin and Hitler had been more willing to trust each other, it's doubtful that Britain could have held out forever, seeing as Germany had more resources to spend. At the same time, if Germany hadn't been so focused on trying to wrestle the Russian bear, it would have been vastly more difficult for the Western nations to kick in the back door at Normandy. But the important thing is that we won, leaving us to squabble over who did what and when and how important it really is, but which most of us think is really fun.

But then you get the real whackos (And yes, America has its own share of them, not going to deny it. Stupidity knows no nationality.) and they just don't do anyone any good.

Terrorist act my ass, we were at war with the most fierce enemy we had and have ever faced. You want to cry foul for poor Japan, tell it to the survivors of Battan and Correagor(sp) death marches. We didn't drop the bombs on the same day, Japan had the opportunity to stop the second one, allowed to surrender? We didn't see any white flag. How anyone can question Americas involvement in any world war is a joke. Not only did we do more than our share, we continue to spend billions a year maintaining the military machine that protects and patrols the world over. Every country in the free world that receives oil shipped out of the Persian Gulf or goods and services from other trouble areas patrolled by the US Navy can kick into the pot. What, no takers, don't blame you. Why pay for what the dumb Americans continue to pay for regardless. Other than our Mother country, Great Britain, not a free country in this world has made a comparable sacrifice to the US God bless all our veterans of war and thank you for your service.
