Bought the Aye Konie as a used boat in Miami, Fla in 1955 for $75,000.


I lived on it for about 25 years.


Had the stern rebuilt into a ladder to make it easier to board.

A couple of years ago someone ran into the Port Bow doing some damage and I never seem to remember to get the "e" repainted.

Oweena, have you gotten your dates confused?? The first fiberglass powerboat was build in 1956, the first single hull fiberglass sailboat in 1960 and according to my knowledge the first production fiberglass multi-hull about 1980.

The boat in your picture looks very much like a late 1990's Lagoon, at least it is amazingly it's forerunner.

Plus a little puzzled, unless you got the image reversed the damaged "e" is on the starboard side.

Regardless, that would be one sweet liveaboard, I'm envious.

 

Can't afford to own a boat with the type of pay that I am getting hopfully I can get better pay after I complete my part time studies.
