This is a very good point and I would like to add to it that the relaxation of those very same rules is what kicked off our current recession/depression.

You might want to read " The Dark Side Of Camelot " by Seymour Hirsch.

 

While I have not read it, I have read several in depth reviews on it, books like this are not my cup of tea. They are usually written to appeal to prurient interests and rarely tell the whole story.

 

To Bad, You miss a lot depending on other people to guide your reading. You might consider making up your own mind, occasionally.

 

How many books have been written about politicians?? Probably thousands, they fall into three categories: Supportive, demeaning or actual biographies.

I personally prefer the latter, there are far fewer of them and they tell ALL the facts, not just the ones that echo your own ideas.

Since I only read an average of two books per month, I don't have time to read them all.

And since no one else resides in my mind, I have no problem with that. I would say, that those who read books to develop their ideas and opinions would be better served to read all kinds, not just those that are expose's.

 

So there's never been a "conservative" president in your opinion tenguy? With the possible exception of JFK who was obviously a liberal.
