Music is not a genre or style or beat or melody or orchestration. its an expression of human emotion.

its universal. rap music is just as musical as Mozart just expressed differently. country music is just as musical to Uncle Earl from Alabama as rap is to Lashaun from Bed Stuy. different people, cultures and taste but all evoked by the essence of music.

Do I think country music is the worst music ever? No, I don't. I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Johnny Cash at this point. A great loss to music as a whole, much less country.

I've listened to all kinds of genres; Country Music, Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Rap, Pop, House, Garage, Techno, Ambient, Indie, Rock, Metal, Speed Metal, Death Metal, Punk, Classical... to name but a few. All have their good musicians and their bad musicians.

I can only think of one genre, that tends to leave me cold. I've tried different performers, but it personally don't float my boat. And that's Jazz.

Whenever I've tried to listen to it, it invariably sounds like a bunch of musical instruments being thrown down a flight of stairs by an angry chimpanzee.

So jazz would get my vote. Hands down.

Everything aint for Everybody... Just because you dont like country music so what? We all know what we like and thats good enough for me! I wont be putting down any type of music - we all have differing taste...

Personally I like all sorts of music. Why pigeon hole yourself, have an open mind. My range goes from thrash metal to classical but I don't really rate rap or r 'n' b...

A good friend of mine is a real country picker and would probably wring my neck for this.

Because, while I do like some country music, especially his, I've always been a rock and roll sort of guy.

But ever since I was a kid there's been a cultural war between Rock and Roll and Country/Western Music. And not just between the different fans but even between the producers and artists about which music genre was the most artistic and had the best artists.

Then a few years back I think a couple of people tried to settle that debate with what I think was one of the best Country/Western songs every recorded.
