As much as I sympathize, Nicola - because it IS hard to see writers tearing down other writers, it really is - I hope you'll reconsider leaving.

 

From reading the post from Nicola, the interaction between myself and ELP is the major issue causing problems on this site. Understood and accepted.

I hereby make a solumn promise in front of all my friends, that I will no longer respond or mention any posts by ELP. I hope that helps calm things down.

I was tempted to leave the site when I became a victim of trolls and then saw dear friends being attacked by them. I was hurt. However, I was encouraged to stay and continue my efforts to better the site and to encourage other writers. I have promised to do so.

Since you, Nicola, are still writing and I am not, your loss would be felt far more than mine. If you want, I will leave the site and no longer contribute or post at all. Your choice.

Again, I am truly sorry for any pain my actions have caused.

Now you stop that, donb. We are NOT going to lose any more readers or writers on here. PERIOD. You are valued too much to go somewhere else. I, for one, enjoy the wittiness you bring to the forum. I was not just talking about what has been said to Em, and you were not the only one who has misunderstood what his intentions have been. I belive DC pointed that out. My discouragement has come from many things said by a great many people over a good deal of time.

This forum is suppose to be about give and take. The wonderful thing about it, and this site, is that we are allowed to share our thoughts, our opinins, and our feelings on different subjects. But the system no longer works when members are getting jumped on and flamed by other members simply because they do not like their ideas or opinions. There's nothing wrong discussion, but some members outright flame others. I have seen it happen again and again on this forum, by many members, towards many members, about many things, over a good bit of time. This latest fiasco over the RW thread, list, badges, etc has just really taken me for a loop.

But I would like to say, donb, that I have a great deal of respect for you. You stood up and took responsibility. Others have not. Others have acted like what DC said had nothing to do with them.

I understand this is merely an on-line thing. I know a lot of people have the mentality that the people behind these usernames are not really people. But they are. You are not just talking to a computer. At the other end of that wi fi connection is a real human being with real feelings. And they can be hurt.

For what it is worth, Donb, I do not want you to leave this site or this forum. I have often times felt that you and DC are whats holding this community together. I came here in hopes of getting more readers. What I discovered was a diverse community full of wonderfully inspiring, intelligent, talented people. This place needs all of us to keep it great.

So forget I said anything and let's just skip over all this drama and just get back to discussing good reads, great authors, and tasty viddles. Yes I said viddles. Just guess what part of the USA I'm from.

At least enabling us to delete comments on our stories would lessen the impact of anonymous hatred on our efforts.

I think we're all in agreement here. A little chastisement is good in small quantities (or larger quantities if it's coming from ejls with cija's crop) and I think we've all learned something today. In the future, let's all try to be a little less judgmental and a little more supportive.

Sheesh, I'm away from a computer for 2 days and there's all kinds of drama and emotion. I missed this place. Just as good as TV. I've also notice the new sigs. Hilarious! However, I can't seem to think of anything clever for my own haha

I am becomming totally confused now. I just searched for Rebeca Lewis (correct spelling) and got his (her) profile. While Rebeca Lewis puts her gender down as female, she say, in her discription, that she is really a MAN in his 40's. I don't know if this is Eric The Red or not. We'll have to ask Eric. Rebeca's profile states that HE was on today. https://forum.xnxx.com/member.php?u=313531 Rebeca (who wrote the classic Popping Ashley's Cherry) joined the site in June of 2009.
