Hmmmmm....a lot of food for thought here. But for now I'll content myself with the observation that working for a living is generally not ALL that much fun, and students generally find that to be true as they begin to dig into subjects they think will be enjoyable. So you may be suffering from expectations that are a bit too high.

Life is the thing to be enjoyed...not necessarily what you do from 8 to 5.

yes. which is why i hesitated going back to school. i love my job. love it. i'm very interested, which is why i love it. i make good money too, but the field i'm going in to currently also interests me, and i'm very excited to learn about it.

 

I just have to say its disappointing to see the lack of ambition around here

because we are bunch of mindless sheep no matter how much we try to stand out. We strive for mediocrity and are fine doing the things that get us by as long as it's in a rough state of not being too bad. Rather than shooting for the best, we're fine with the attainable that easily comes to us with little work involved for us...

We fear things outside our comfort levels and despise that which we don't know, so we go back to grazing with the rest of the sheep until someone comes and tries to cut off our hair on a colder day...

At least that's my opinion...

But you go out you work hard maybe you succeed maybe you fail but its better then sitting still even if you have no work you should still try to move forward there are 10000 of things anyone could do, if for nothing else the experience of doing it

I don’t know if its because of me looking back at the past allot or if its just in my blood but I want to see how far I can go when it gets hard to push a little farer so I can say yeah I did it and I wasn’t a sheep

even though its scary stepping out of areas we know you will never fail even if you don’t succeed, bad experiences just help and guide you to a better goal only when you stop trying do you see failure

Hmmm, I plan on being in my first year of teaching High School English. Hopefully with a man to keep me satisfied morning, noon, and night.

Some more of my "hopes" are just too personal to put out there. Mostly because they make me sound like a starry-eyed girl. Just gooshy lovey-dovey stuff. But really, I just want to be happy.

 

True, but not everyone shares the same thoughts. It may be all better for you, but not everyone thinks the same way. No one likes failing, and they're fine doing terrible so long as it's just enough to get by. They may want to experience new things, but they, like I said, don't want to go outside their comfort zones.

You got a personality that wants to keep pushing forward, that's fine, but it seems a large majority of people don't care as long as they at least just get by.

I want to push forward myself, however, my problem stems from a pure lack of motivation... <_<

Anyways, you asked why so many can stay in a stagnant life, and I just explained that, that's all, not much more to it... It's because they're sheep, and are fine with being sheep that they don't care t push forward.
